Roberto shafted us the night we played Swansea !
I’m convinced his mind was on the Everton job that he had signed up to before the game. His team selection was poor and his performance as a Manager was gutless; especially against a Swansea side that didn’t really give a toss !Tick Tock, Tick Tock; two more places to go !
This post is set to run !
You Leyland lot seem to have a very unhealthy obsession with Martinez. Let it go! Why are you remotely arsed about what happens at Everton. We have let it go; in fact we have definitely cut him adrift !!!
However it is interesting to follow the fortunes of our past players or managers. Likewise we’ll be keeping a sneaky eye on Brucie, etc.Mutty’s agenda always revolves around a morbid fascination with attendances. I’d like any random Latics fan to explain why he loathes all Wigan RL and wouldn’t want them to win at Wembley (just a couple of sentences will do, nothing too taxing). Curious, that’s all. Ta :)Why do you think they are called “Cuckoo Warriors”, that gives you a clue to one aspect that alienates Latics fans against them.
You are right – it was a crap game. Just as the FA Cup Final was a crap game. And there were empty seats, just as there were in May.
However the facts are that Wigan now have two of the oldest sporting knock-out trophies in their possession – something never done before and probably wont ever happen again.
Well done Wigan!
Correct, but nobody gives a fuck about one of them.
We’ll trump em; by holding two major Cup trophies in the same year ( when we pick up the Carling Cup in February 2014 ) !
N’Zogbia on loan maybe ?????????????????????????
Scored in two out of three appearances !
Does this mean that all bets are off with the Mon from Bristol City ?
Add to that: Joke City, Wanky Wanderers, Shitbok Stadium or Wankbok Stadium.
Coyle had to act quickly to find suitable replacements throughout the team and, to his credit, he did. The purchases he made before the season began are likely to be just as significant as the tactics he employs during it.It was the failure to replace senior players – plus injuries – at Bolton that led to their relegation. The fault was not necessarily Coyle’s – there may well have been financial limitations that we are not aware of. (And I see that Holden is injured yet again.)
We have got off to a great start – I just hope that next week doesn’t damage our confidence. I am now anxiously waiting for the transfer window to close – and there are four more long weeks to go! But if any one of the big moves goes through, then it will start a chain reaction that we may get caught up in.
Awreet Barnsley; we have nothing to fear or loose next week. It’s a day out that players, fans and manager can treat as a bonus and enjoy ! Not so Moyes !
Do you think that Owen Coyle looks a bit like an owd version of Columbo ? :evil:Spooky – just check out his middle name http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_Coyle
I would almost go as far to say if things stay as they are we have a better squad of players than last season..
Thank gawd that you qualified that with almost or that comment would have just been silly ;-)
Robles out Nicholls and Carson in
Figeuroa out Crainey and his international replacement in
Alcaraz Scharner Golobart out Perch, Barnett and Rogne in
David Jones out Chris Mccann in
Di Santo out Dicko in
Kone out Holt & Fortune in
Goalkeeping department is much stronger
Defence is much stronger!
Midfield we have managed to keep our quality players (up to now)
Wingers pretty much the same minus Di Santo and Lopez (not a great loss)
One hard working striker for 2
I fail to see where I am bordering on the silly? If we had stayed up and Martinez left for Everton with Coyle coming in setting us up the way he has and signing the players he has I think we could do a lot worse.
I dont think (he may prove me wrong) Coyle will ever be the tactician Martinez was for us e.g. Masterminding a cup final domination against the PL champions but apart from that he has certainly ticked all the right boxes in his time here.
Totally agree with you Salford.
I think Owen is a Streetfighter; whereas Roberto was a Pretty Boy !
Jason Roberts at nob endBloody missed that one; me & HORC were still outside the ground !!!!
I shall be happy if Holt scores 25 lucky goals! What we’ve been missing is sufficient players up the field to create chances and players in the box to convert them into goals.
We should be able to take greater control of games this season and have a greater presence in the box too. I think we’ve got the players to do both.
Wasn’t a lucky goal in my opinion. He was where a striker should be and reacted very quickly to re-direct the ball into the net with his knee. Two goals from two corners in one game; we don’t normally score from corner ball situations.
Another noticeable point – we had 63% of possession. We were playing against Barnsley, who finished just one point above relegated Peterborough last season.
We started last season with a game against Chelsea, who had just become Champions of Europe.
We don’t move in the same circle any more, and the demands upon the team are hardly the same. Congratulations on a good win all the same.
Aye, but did you actually go to the game ? With your username, you should have been first in the queue !
