How does the old saying go?
“Theres lies, damn lies….and then there’s VAT” :liar:
If Rodellga’s effort where he took it on his chest, then volleyed it over his own head in an attempt to ‘lob’ Reina.
That would have bettered shrek-heads.
:confusion-seeingstars:
The brown shoes thingSee, there you go again mentioning his shoes!
And i really, really, really dont care how good he looks in a suit or brown shoes. Not my thing.
Yet you mention it in almost every post.
So what started out as, and has continued to be, a bit of a joke for 99% of the board has become a bit of a thing for you, despite you saying, ironically, it’s not your thing.
What has?
could you see us going to Stoke the last game needing a win and getting it?
honestly, YES
Very good point andyc   to mant alledged supporters seem very happy that we are in this predicament I really question their support at times
And a few of us question you and others sanity.
Probably the stock debate on this, but do you think Bobby should come out and criticise the players or attack them?
Couldn’t care less what he says to the Press, and even less what he says for the benefit of ‘fans’.
What he says to the players behind closed doors is what is important and should remain there.
Yeah, behind closed doors, thats working well aint it? We are the 19th best team in the premier league at the minute. FACT. But, as long as our gifted young manager can keep finding positives instead of points we are soon to be in another league. And i really, really, really dont care how good he looks in a suit or brown shoes. Not my thing.
What I cant understand is how some folk on here cant see our managers incompetence ! Its not just his tactics, its everything he has done right the way through ! Take a look at the league table and look at our stats ! They are not very good reading yet for some bizarre reason our chairman has stubbornly said that he will stick with the manager ! I agree that it may be too late now for someone to come in and do a job ( Think Shearer a couple of seasons back ) and all we can do is get behind the team the best we can. If we go down, which does look a distinct possibility now, I feel that the chairman will have to eat some humble pie and get rid of Bob. Should he stick with him I think there will be a bigger exodus from the fans than one would normally expect from a relegation ! The revenue lost would be massive which is why I cant get my head round DW’s obstinacy !Dave Whelan will have to pay over 3 million pounds in compensation to Loser Bobby and his back room “staff” should he sack them all now. If (when) wigan are relegated, there is no severance payment payable. So he is saving himself 3 million, we are down anyway, and over summer he will get a new management team, coaches etc.
Bobby the loser has really done himself no favours, he will be sacked having taken wigan down and have less of a future as “the best young manager in the game” than Chris Hutchings. Sacked soon.
Write off the premier league for now, just look forward to the new team, new manager and new beginning in the Championship, where we might even play attacking football, and realise that goals win games, not the number of ‘completed passes’ like the Loser believes.
How good is his latest interview??

He is bordering insanity. Fantastic little quotes like –
“What is important is that we know what we are doing in the short term and also the long term,”
“We have got clear ideas for both, which is why we have invested so much in young players who will benefit the club for many years”.
“Financially there is a huge difference between being in the Premier League and the Championship, and we are not contemplating anything other than getting the points we need from the next 14 games to make sure we stay up.
“Once we do that, we will get the rewards of investing in young players and on a style of play that is going to allow us to realise our ambitions.”
Young players? He whinges that Moses is like having a new player then doesnt play him. He rates Di Santo as one of the best young strikers around and doesnt play him until now that Boselli has seen the loser for what he is and asked to get out. He wont sign Al Habsi, and just wait until Villa have bought him, then say Kirkland coming back is like having a new keeper.
No doubt the usual suspects will tell us that “we have to get behind the team……blah blah” – too late for that.
Mighty_Aff, comedy genius?
Yes. Ta.
When Martinez was appointed, my attitude was of the following.“I’m a bit worried because of his lack of experience at the top level. However, if we play decent, passing, entertaining football, that’s good enough for me. If we play good stuff all season, and lose a load of games 3-2 or 4-3…….and get relegated, then so beit”.
I’d rather us be like that, than watch the crap that Bruce’s tactic churned out last season. Dear god! It’s the first time in my time as a match going Wigan Athletic fan, and a football fan in general, that I actually FELL ASLEEP at a game. It was only for a minute or two……but it happened. (Think it was either Stoke or Bolton, at home) :|
Changed your tune VAT? This pre-breakdown?
The chef does unnerve me by just standing there with his arms folded !!
Here’s one thing that has always puzzled me. Would you rather have a manager that stands by the side of the pitch thoughtfully watching the whole 90 minutes, or one who sits on his @rse only jumping up every now and again to rant and rave at the 4th official?
Id just rather have a different manager. The standing / sitting thing doesnt bother me. After all McLaren in his tenure as England boss stood at the side of the pitch thoughtfully watching the whole 90 minutes (under an umbrella i grant you) and the result was the same – dire football by some dire over rated players. Still, from a good number of your posts its apparent that you spend more time watching Martinez in his brown shoes than the match.
how many premier league games has moses started this season when he has been available fit, for selection?
Welcome back Dave. Was it rent-a-friend who told you?
We can go on like this all day Standish but the fact of the matter is he is defensive coach and the defence is shoite so he must take some of the blame. So he can’t be that good at his job either that or you may have to question Bob’s signings
Maybe Whelan should employ Standish Walker as defensive coach as he is doing such a sterling job in defending Martinez with so little material to work with.
Right, let’s put it in simple terms:* I said Dennis Lawrence is Wigan’s defensive coach.
* Hindley found that funny, because he only played lower league football.
* I pointed out that so did Wenger, Mourinho, etc etc, and asked, so why is that funny?
* Hindley replied ‘Because the defence are sh7te’
* My response, ‘Eh?’
* Mighty_Aff’s response ‘Standish Walker is defending Martinez’
Thanks for the intelligent exchange of views lads, but I think I’ll retire from this topic now as it’s giving me a headache.
You deserve a gold clock.
Apparently 1 in 5 Latics fans is now a member of the Darkside. The club must have assumed one of your mates wouldn’t be going. :?
only 1 in 5? 3 in 5 for sure.
