No, didnt want Jewell sacked. But the facts remain – Martinez has a worse premiership record than Chris Hutchins – he is clueless. His post match interview had all the usual bo11ox about how he will pick us up and put it right. If he stays, the same phrase will be said by him another 36 times this season. A decent player for us in the past, but a truly awful, awful manager. Bruce Rioch was ten times the manager Bobby is, and what happened to him when he dared say “Dave, i pick the team, i say who stays or goes, im in charge of the team”
The reason Martinez is here is because he cannot say no to Whelan. Anyone that does is removed. Cant you see thats why the players and even ‘his own’ backroom staff see him as a puppet.

No – i thought Chelsea would score 7. They will be dissappointed not to at Circus Whelan. The ringmaster Martinez will now be asked to leave with a little dignity, with a decent wedge. If he refuses and when we get turned over 5-0 at the next game, he will be sacked in disgrace.

Arsenal smashed Blackpool today at a canter. The only other game Blackpool will win is their home fixture against us unless Martinez is replaced quickly. However, some of the clubs fans are happy that we are awful on the pitch, but bobby is ace at stabding in that technical area, wishing the clock down for a goaless draw from the first whistle.
And to think, some ‘pundits’ had him down in the same bracket as moreno after the Villa result last season.
Graeme Souness – i think he would be a great manager for us, and would stand absolutely, positively no shiote. He also lives in Knutsford so it is local enough for him.
That’s just ridiculous, Spurs away was a one off in that it was the worst result in our league history and one of the worst top flight results ever seen. Yes Blackpool was very, very bad, but a refund, don’t be so daft.It is not going to be a one off. Last night started off bad for me, as due to a jobsworth at the turnstile, I got seperated from my FOUR year old son. I paid for myself, then made the mistake of shoving him through the turnstile. Cue scouse turnstile operator having a go at me and telling me I should’ve “lifted him through with me” (My lad is a big lad for 4. Tall, size 12 feet. No chance)I didn’t know, due to being foolish enough to have season tickets. :roll: He then told me to go through this small ‘gate’ next to the turnstile myself. Gate? I’ve been through wider women! :lol: Honestly, Alex Higgins wouldn’t have got through it, in his later years. The bloke behind me in the queue said “No wonder our club can’t get more fans”. He wasn’t wrong.
But it didn’t stop there. Instead of just letting me in through the exit gate next door, a steward (Another Scouser, naturally) had to take me and let me in at the far corner of the ground. After some frantic searching, I was re-united with my little lad.
I was p’d off, to be honest. Really p’d off.Typical Latics. Jobsworth staff. Stupid systems in place. 2 turnstiles open, and what’s more, they ran out of pies at half time. Drinking session in a brewery, again.
Sod any future friendlies, as like the majority of our fans did last night, I won’t bother. Lucky I’m a long-time fan, as if it was my first match, I wouldn’t bother again.

Seriously though, a break away down on the South Coast has done me the world of good. I’ve come back feeling rejeuvenated and really up for the season.
I am EXCITED about seeing our new signings in action, especially Boselli. We’ve signed a striker who will almost certainly play for Argentina,now his ex coach is the national coach. Also, we’ve signed a player who looked really good in the World Cup, Alcaraz, as well as a full back, Stam, who was wanted by Ajax. Add to that the signing of McArthur, and things are looking good. And then I start to remember that we’ve already got the likes of Victor Moses on board, and it all sounds good!
The only worry is that we will lose both Figueroa, AND N’Zogbia. I really hope we don’t. Especially N’Zogbia. Figueroa we can replace, but I can’t think of anybody who could replace N’Zogbia. I really hope they don’t leave a few days before the season.
So all in all, I’m looking quite positive about things!
A few points about replica shirts from my time down south. I saw somebody wearing a Yeovil Town shirt, made by Vandanel. For whatever reason, it was FAR better made than our shirt last season, and looked quite nice. Also saw a Swindon shirt, made by Adidas. Again, well made, good material. I saw a new United shirt or two as well. My god, it looks like one of those fakes from on holiday! Not nice at all. With hindsight, I don’t think our new kit is too bad. Pity we’ve lost the ‘stripes’ though. It IS quite individualistic, though. However, maybe a diagnal stripe would of looked better, rather than just down one side.
Looking forward to Real Zaragoza on Wed. And I can’t wait for the Blackpool match. By all accounts, they are in a bit of a mess, players wise, and I just hope we are clinical and cynical enough to send them home well and truly beaten.

Ive heard of people committing self immoliation over political and moral reasons, due to perhaps an out pouring of grief about many hundreds of thousands suffering during a war or such like, but not about James Beattie. Maybe you will become the 2010s iconic image, like the one in the 60s of that monk burning himself to death in Vietnam (Thich Quang Duc was his name).
Im imagining the T shirt now – “the lord died to save us all, Dave saved us from Beattie”
