Fortune..?…something like 7 goals in over 60 appearances. His team selection becomes more mind numbing by the game.Really thought we would get back on track today. Play offs no chance so looks like we’ll have to focus on FA cup again……He is as stated totally out of his depth and I can’t see things improving any time soon .Over to you Mr When an. …

Delort was playing french 2nd tier football which is probably the equivalent to the conference here so it must be quite a shock to find himself lobbed straight in the deep in one of the most competitive leagues in the world. So surely a partner like Riera or Waghorn would make his introduction easier instead of this insistence on isolating him and the more he struggles the more his confidence gets eroded. As previously stated the teams that walked this league last season had the 2 up top as do most the teams in this league so I am baffled as to why our manager so stubbornly sticks with 1.

Spot on about Delort. …Young inexperienced player needs a partner to play off not strung out on his own .Wouldn’t Riera be ideal ?

Absolutely crap…no ideas in the middle…..Delort didn’t get any great service so not fair to chastise him . Defence woeful, only McLean, Riera, and Waghorns introduction fired us up.Mid table is about it for me .

I agree but I’m just using him as an example.I’m not saying that Riera isn’t a decent player I just think this league needs a street wise forward who knows the score. No one knows exactly what the situation is with Holt and I’d be the 1st to admit that I thought he was a great signing at the time and agree that he was a let down but if we can’t off load him before the window shuts then wouldn’t it be a managers role to sit down with him and try to motivate him and maybe get a bit of a return on the investment. This is one tough league and I was under no illusions about our task so hopefully we can address this issue and get up and running.Just for the record my ea/way tip to go up was and still is Blacburn, young side last season.Kept Rhodes and signed a cracker in Gestedes.

Surely it’s financially viable to take a chance on a forward from the lower leagues and the fact that they will be chomping at the bit to prove themselves. The likes of Billy Sharp who went to Leeds for 500,000 Wells went for 1 mill. These Riera Bosselli buys don’t do it for me. Austin proved himself so did Vokes,Ings at this level.Surely taking a chance on Garner at Preston would be worth it as it’s not about trying to find the next Thierry Henry it’s about scoring in this league .

Knobbed again.Haven’t seen game so can’t comment on performance but this ongoing striker issue worrying me now.Fortunes stats don’t read well,Waghorn is busy but if he gets 10 i’ll be surprised and my initial impression of Riera wasn’t favourable. He doesn’t look ready for the hurly burly of this league.I know our midfield has looked static but the forwards give very little to aim for.Istill think a Nahki Wells type forward would give us some desperately needed pace……but let’s hope this is our seasonal blip out of the way.

Whether you think Qpr were lucky or not it proves again the importance of having a quality striker .Zamora came on against us and made the difference ,laying on both goals ,holding the ball up superbly and then firing the winner yesterday. We all know the difficulty in aquiring a goal getter but this must be our main investment.

Couldn’t agree more….stunned when I heard line up.We did OK for 20 mins then Harry swapped things round and we spend rest of the game without a forward outlet.

Couldn’t agree more about the striker issue. Testament to our defence that we were in the game so long .Apart from the McLean effort we never looked capable of putting them on the back foot. Both Derby and Qpr have strikers who can turn a game unfortunately we haven’t had one for yonks.Ball never stayed forward but I think after such a long season we have achieved more than I expected so well done and thanks for the ride.

Still all to play for but I always thought this tie would be settled by maybe 1 goal.I thought Fortunes miss wasn’t an easy one as it came across at pace but as a striker his overall game is poor.He is a poor target, can’t dig the ball out from under his feet and has touch of a rhino.I agree with previous poster that QPR did a great job on us and will be pleased with 0-0.I hope I’m wrong but a finisher like Austin will take one of the few chances he gets on Monday which will be the only difference between the two teams. In 90 mins we created very little but we didn’t concede so the pressure now on QPR to finish the job but I think nerves will play it’s part and remember we have a great resolution in big one off games recently .
