Clubs and players would be very reluctant to go to ET as then the whole complicated package would be made public, not only literally to the public, but also other players in the team. Clubs may not want that known.
A friend of mine is an HR Officer in the NE. In over 15 years of this line of work with a large company, she has never had an unfair dismissal case reach an ET – every single one has settled “Out of Court”.
Apparently over 90% of all such cases end this way.
Despite his loan period coming to an end, surely as he was injured whilst playing for Huddersfield, then there will be a financial implication for them with respect to Holt’s wages for the next 9 months.
After all, if you have a car on a 2 year lease, you cant smash it on the last day and hand the keys in without having insurance to cover the repair bill.
And it appears his letter of resignation as chairman has been put in the War Chest.
6 weeks is fine – will be back in time to welcome Cardiff City and their lovely owner ;)
Well done. It must have been very pleasing for those who travelled across the pennines to see a victory, no matter how it was earned, particularly with the snow that was forecast in the evening.
Was there a substantial break in play during the first half?
We`ve a few games before that enough to turn it around, I liked when the draw was made their was no reference to us being last seasons semifinalist or 2013 winners just Scum v Wigan Athletic a lancashire derby .I don’t recall them making much of an issue about the other semi-final losers either.
The rest of the world has moved on since May 2013.
Bearing in mind the current league position, would 4th bottom do for this season?
Good news then folks – Wigan Athletic are newsworthy again!
It must be big news as it shared airing with UKIP winning another by-election and the resignation of a Labour MP from the shadow cabinet.
I wonder what the chuckle brothers’ next publicity stunt will be?
A chairman who is branded a racist
A manager who is branded a racist, a homophobe, a sexist.
When’s Ched signing?
You are getting very boring with your put downs, it was quite funny a couple of years back when we were in the Premiership and felt we were top dogs, but is wearing extremely thin now we are looking at 3rd tier football in 2015. Even your mate Standish seems to have stopped his synchronized posting tactics:ohmy:http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/news/article/14-11-13-wigan-athletic-v-charlton-athletic-fixture-change-2081793.aspxMoving a game because of the lodgers eh?
And its not even a competitive fixture – just a kickabout with an Aussie side wanting some pre-season training.
Turning Red again….
“There has been a talk between the player and the chairman and they came to a compromise that both parties are very happy with. That indicates that last year’s absence due to a “Dead Leg” was complete hoop. The lad needs a history lesson on what the poppy really represents. Hopefully Uncle Dave has taken him to the Tower of London on the way back from Brighton.
he will play untill shirts with poppys on appear ;)I see he went off after 68 minutes tonight. Was this with a “knock” that will keep him out this weekend? ;)
if we sack rosler would a new manager do any better with this lot. come back gomez all is forgiven :oops:This. I think you are missing Gomez and McArthur.
Out of the 11 that started the FA Cup final less than 18 months ago, only one (Maloney) started the last game. Two others came on as 2nd half subs.
Your close-knit cup winning squad with premiership standard players has finally been dismantled, and you are left with rejects, plodders and journeymen who don’t give a toss as long as there is a fat pay packet. That’s not Rostlers fault – that’s life when you are not a premier league club and don’t have a stream of young players coming through an academy.
Im sure he’s a good coach of hungry young players who want to improve, but that’s not the bunch you have at the DW right now – I suspect even Jose would struggle to get them up the league.
We didn’t lose 8-0You weren’t playing a top-4 premier league team away. You were at home to a side who were two leagues below you 18 months ago.
The first punch was in retaliation to a cheap shot by Hohio – that kind of thing happens in such an intense contact sport and whilst not acceptable on a football field, would be tolerated on a rugby field. The ref may have given them both 10 mins in the sin bin, or he may have just told them to cut it out.
The second punch was a cowardly attack on a player who had already been poleaxed by the first punch. He deserved to walk. He deserves a long ban. He cost Wigan the game.
I’m pleased that Shaun Wane has not defended that 2nd punch, as to do so would have put him in a worldwide minority of one.
Totally agree with the Liam Farrell comment. Andy Farrell had class too. Must be in the genes!
