26/30 in about three minutes, followed by five minutes of blind panic and resisting Google.
Can’t believe I missed Landzaat, Henchoz, Kilbane and Teale (despite reading the thread).Cant argue with that then, though you were having a go due to the fact he was wrong when ‘technically’ he wasn’t.. But as you say it is a message board and i dare say that EVERYONE knew what he meant…
Jermain Defoe’s big toe?I don’t think anyone has ever said that MrLogic was wrong anyway.
In fact, Mr Logic didn’t even say that the original poster was wrong to use the question mark! However, should…
Jermaine Defoe’s big toe?
really have a question mark at the end? Grammatically speaking of course.
NorthernMonkey and Garswoodlatic….. It ISNT acceptable to end a sentence with a question mark when there has been no question asked. I accept that people use it when uncertain about the statement they are making and want confirmation about that…But technically mr.logic was right and it is not acceptable for you to have a go at him for stating something that is a factI’ll happily concede that point from a purely grammatical perspective. He really should have used a ‘tag question’ at the end of the sentence to convert it to a question.
However, this is a message board, not a dissertation in punctuation, so, for me, it’s acceptable. Also, and let’s be honest here, we were having a go because he’s an annoying t**t!
do you?
and why have you ended with a question mark?Ending a statement with a question mark, to signify uncertainty, is perfectly acceptable.
Questioning grammar and/or spelling on a message board isn’t.
If you’re going to do that then start your sentences with capital letters.
I was brought up as a Man Utd fan by my family and had all the merchandise etc etc. Then one year (1992) a friend of ours offered to take me to a game. Now as a rugby fan I was obviously not much of a Latics fan, but after 90 minutes I was hooked. I even jumped off my seat when we scored a late winner. Fast forward a few years and the time to pick one team and I picked Latics as by then I was a regular at Springy and even went the odd local away game.
Wouldn’t swap it for the World.
jumped off your seat eh.
not that IS impressive, that must make you one hell of a fan lad.
A seat in 1992?
Has unfortunately become one big bicker fest and is becoming extremely banal. Any prospective new members will just think “Sod this for a game of soldiers ! ” This forum needs a shake up and the ” Usual suspects ” need to be fired off because they are ruining what was a half decent forum once over ! I know there has always been differences between people on certain subjects but that is the norm on a forum but this constant rivalry between certain factions is somewhat trite now. Why dont you all just meet up and kick fcuk out of each other !Good post. And you too Horc.
What possesses anyone to put so much effort into creating a [usually false/often delusional] online persona, or worse still a whole series of them?
Some folk need to get a real life!
Something wrong here????Hope they don’t get many subscribers. We should organise a boycott of the Daily Express for advertising this
Not sure what this is about, do you have a link?
Is it just me, or does anyone else agree that Mario is a useless, overrated sack of sh1t? He was awful on Saturday, not for the first time either. Where the fcuk was he for their second goal? Geovanni had a tap in where Mario should have been. He brings nothing to the team, and why he’s captain is beyond me. We should have bought a replacement in the summer, and I said that in the summer and plenty of times before that too.It would appear that, albeit after just a couple of hours, the answer is Yes – it is just you that thinks that.
Didn’t get to the game on Saturday as I was out of the country, but from what I’ve seen of him this season I remain impressed.
Mario = Quality
My little lad is called Nathan.
And it WAS down to Nathan Ellington!Really?
And you’re still with your missus after that?Is it just me or does is describing Arky as ‘head’
coach just plain wrong?I have the whole game on Sky+. If I can work out how to transfer it to DVD, then I’ll sort you a copy out. PM me your email and I’ll let you know how I get on.
The easiest way to copy it from Sky is to watch the game whilst recording it at the same time. Yeah I know BUGGER!! lol
This is of course provided you have your DVD recorder connected to your Sky+ box. It can be a fiddle getting it connected correctly & ensuring you’re on the right channel etc but once done is a doddle.
Oh & I would do the honours but i got rid of my DVD recorder as i wasnt using it after the novelty wore off.
Cheers. I’ll give it a try.
Thank you for ‘playing my game’.
You seem to be a very well educated young man. That post looks like the start of a News of the Worl grooming scandal.
Well educated? Aye, one of John Rigby’s finest. Actually, I was asked to leave and so, my bright academic future was cut tragically short.

it was a simple question, for simple people it seems, who seem unable to give a simple answer.
you see my friend, if you care to read the postings on here from the start of martinez’s appointment, a lot of ‘fans’ want him out one week then are chanting his name the next.
yes I am questioning peoples positiveness.
have I made that simple enough for you?
Oops! Hit the submit button before I’d typed anything. Now that is simple.
However, I would suggest everyone is able to to answer this question very easily.
We simply don’t feel compelled to play your game.
You post nothing but negative comments, or start threads designed to provoke others. So, to post asking if we are going to stay positive is a bit rich.
I agree there are some fickle fans who can’t decide whether they support Martinez, or not. Perhaps they post what they think others want to hear, or what seems flavour of the day, without having any real conviction? Who knows? Maybe they simply crave popularity on internet forums to compensate for some other inadequacy in their lives.
I would also add that to say, “a lot of ‘fans’ want him out one week then are chanting his name the next”, is perhaps an overstatement. I’d suggest it’s a minority who are simply more vocal than the rest of us.
