Agree. Was thinking re-start in the sense of breathing new life into Wigan Athletic, whether in L1 or L2. The club, stadium, training ground come at knock down prices. The annual accounts position should be helped by the League salary cap now side by side with the allowable losses. An excellent opportunity for someone.

      Completely agree with you :good:

On that basis would relish the challenge of re-starting Wigan Athletic. Maybe someone else able to act might be of the same opinion. A good opportunity.

I picked my user name after the main stand at Springfield Park but I also thought we would have to start again. However ,I now think why should we ?we have done nothing wrong. It’s our duty to keep this great club going out of respect for the supporters who formed the club at the Queens Hall in 1932.I am sure there are some people out there who would love to see us go under ,let’s not let it happen. believe !

That’s the important aspect….they were powerless to stop it. You only have to look at Companies House to see what happened.

I am not disputing he was powerless to do anything but don’t forget he was the one who introduced the Chinese to Dave Whelan in the first place with his Far East connections. My point is why does he keep coming up with these counter offers when it looks like a deal is nearly over the line ? particularly when he does not seem able to come up with the necessary funds himself.

I don’t think for one minute he would actually choose to go to Barnsley.Like others have said he might end up there due to circumstances beyond his control. But would Barnsley want a player who does not actually want to be there?

Tomorrow’s statement from the admin will probably be something like this:

              STATEMENT FROM ADMINISTRATION 22/01/21.

To the uneducated , Nothing to report this week ,will report again next Friday.

PS. Will probably sell a couple of academy players next week to our mates at other clubs ,obviously well below their true market value. Will use the same agent who has somehow managed to sell a whole squad of players for less than Wigan were offered for one player last season.

Lisa Nandy might be re-assured but I am certainly not. This Stanley fella comes across as a nasty piece of work ,his opinion of the fans as uneducated says it all for me.He has run rings around prospective buyers and I have no doubt he is doing the same with Ms Nandy. We need a Dave Whelan type character to go in there and nose to nose it with him.

                  Ruined my weekend that goal

Usually feel the same ,but this takeover saga has just left me drained.I just appreciate the work being done by Leam Richardson and his team.

It suits the admin to keep this going as long as they can ( I think twelve months is the maximum ).Throw in a couple more player sales and they are laughing all the way to the bank.

I would still like to hear the Spanish side of the story. They did say at one point they would wait as long as it takes to buy us and nothing would put them off. Then ,suddenly ,they drop us like a stone.Something must have happened. Is it the admin moving the goalposts yet again? Just as we were waiting for confirmation of the sale stories started to emerge that clubs were interested in buying Kyle Joseph. Was that a coincidence or was it the admin actively trying to sell him from under their noses ?

Would love to hear the Spanish side of the story.Did they just get cold feet or have the admin been up to their old tricks again ?

I hold my hands up.I have been in support of the Spanish bid ,however , it now appears their bid was seriously flawed from the start. The admins have been an absolute disgrace ,why keep extending the exclusivity ?.Only yesterday Stanley was saying they were in limbo waiting for a decision from the EFL.He knew full well that the deal was dead in the water. They have been taking us all for fools.
Meanwhile ,all this time has been wasted. We needed this deal to be completed before / during the transfer window. No chance of that now.Where do we go from here ? I really can’t see a way forward.

I suspected something was wrong last week.I think that’s it now we’re finished. :-(

Could be a massive week for Latics.Let’s hope the takeover is completed.I am getting worried that our younger players are attracting interest from the vultures.I hope it’s not the admin putting their feelers out trying to get one last pay day.If it is ,it could scupper the deal with the Spanish who would be justified in pulling out.Fingers crossed everything will go through and if any players are sold in January we will get their true market value and the proceeds re invested in team.

The admin should be held to account. It’s OK penny pinching because we are in administration but there is an obligation to provide a playing surface up to EFL standards. They should be made to contribute to the repair of the pitch.Surely a few heat lamps left on overnight would not break the bank.

They are not using the heat lamps on it and it makes a huge difference. It was like a bowling green last season with both football and rugby playing on it.
