Course they know the basics of defending, they’re just shit and make more cock ups than less shit players.

With no defensive coaches there will be nobody pointing out their mistakes and looking at ways of improving them. We look like a side from Little Lane because we are one.

I will agree though that Curtis Tilt is a terrible footballer and his history shows that. He wouldn’t get anywhere near our starting 11 if I was picking the side TBH.

What were you saying about fans slagging off the players.

Its his own fault, Richardson had the chance to bring in a couple of coaches but instead decided to bring in 9/10 journeymen that no one else wanted at the same time allowing a few youngsters to leave that were actually getting to grips with League 1.

Even though i respect his loyalty to the club and cause he has dropped one almighty bollock here and he knows it, no point moaning about it now.

Absolutely spot on .I think we were wrong releasing the academy lads.It did not sit right with me.We needed 2 or 3 experienced players in the January window to help out the young lads I think we brought in quantity over quality and we are paying the price.

My big worry now is that any potential buyer will offer a lower amount and take the 15 point deduction this season ,but out of spite the admin will delay any takeover to make sure the points are deducted next season.

In terms of location, accessibility & comfort:

            Sunderland
            Hull
            Doncaster
            Peterborough
            Charlton
            Wimbledon
            MK Dons
            Plymouth
            Ipswich

            Possibles:

            Shrewsbury
            Northampton

Absolute nonsense ! Have you been to any of these grounds?

Great win ,Northampton were not great but our defence looked a lot more solid tonight. All the other results went our way ,hope we can build on this and get out of the bottom four.Funny what a win can do ,all of a sudden I am feeling a lot more positive. :yahoo:

I don’t think Danson has any interest in buying Latics.I also don’t think Begbies have any intention of selling Latics at the moment. Why would they ? Sell Latics now for £3 million or sell them in six months for £3 million and pocket another six months fees at something like £350 per hour ,no brainer as far as they are concerned.

Wooton a bit of experience and will be a good asset I think. Tilt offers nothing.

I am not convinced with either Tilt or Wootton they are certainly not a good partnership. Not sure Wootton is match fit.Like you say in time with games under his belt he could well become an asset .The problem is we have not got time ,we need to start getting results now.

Not sure who decided to drop Whelan or Johnstone for Curtis Tilt. Terrible footballer.

We need to find a settled 11 and stick to it. Our performances improved massively when we were turning the same side out, and now we have gone back to chopping and changing every game it’s no wonder we look out of shape. Players need game time.

Good point ,I thought Johnston and Whelan looked solid at the back against Fleetwood.Johnston looked a decent player but has not had a look in since.I would probably have taken Tilt back as back up but I am not sure there was any need to bring in Wootton. The back four looked slow and disjointed yesterday against a really poor side.

Let’s not just make Jamie Jones the scapegoat here .The defending for all three goals was absolutely shocking.

Hang on hang on, he came flying out for nn reason. Regardless of the defence if he makes himself big the lads first gotta get the ball at pace then beat the keeper again at pace and from a tight angle. Good keepers read the situation not come diving out at a dead ball !!.

Sunday league keeping at its best

Together with Sunday league defending ! Look ,I am not Jones’s biggest fan he was at fault for the third goal.Having said that we should have been tighter on the lad who back heeled the ball. The first two goals were just rank bad defending and should have been prevented.

Not felt this dejected for a long ,long time. Its not just the realisation we are nailed on to get relegated. It’s also this takeover business. The admin ‘not putting a time limit on it ‘ says to me they are going to drag it out for as long as they can.

Got to feel sorry for the Academy lads who have been released. We asked them to step up when no one else was available and that’s how we repay them. It’s a cruel sport at times !

When the Chinese pulled the plug we did not actually owe anything. They withdrew all future funding.Strictly speaking we did not actually have to immediately go into administration. It was on the advice of our admin team ( I wonder why ?).Could Royle and Jackson not have approached the EFL to ask for say one month to find a new owner ? I might be talking complete nonsense here but surely that would have been a better solution.

They actually gave no notice of administration, the first anyone at the club knew about it was the afternoon before Stanley, Watson and Krasner walked into the stadium. I was sat in JJ’s office 11am that morning, where he told all that had gone on in the previous 36 hours, including him begging for them to not put us in administration as we would find a buyer if they gave a bit of time. This was something they had been planning for months I feel…….. The EFL actually knew about it before JJ, as the admins had already contacted them…..

Sounds to me like the EFL and the admin have an awful lot of explaining to do regarding what was the right course of action for Wigan Athletic. As we know it will all be swept under the carpet and no one will be held accountable.

If we’d found one. It’s month 7 now and we still don’t have one.

The Chinese wanted to liquidate us and were advised to put us into admin as they would get some money back.

The admin keep telling us we would have been easier to sell as a Championship club.Don’t forget the squad and assets we had at the time made us a lot more attractive to buyers.I just think it was a bit of a knee jerk reaction ( probably encouraged by the admin ).They could have got their money back had we been sold .As I say ,if no buyer after a month then put us into administration. It was all too rushed.
