1) The whole season we won division 3, I was only about 9 at the time, my interest in football was growing, altough I had been going for a few years before, I was now just getting to the age that i was begining to understand, I was selected for junior latics this year and became a Latics nut. Particularly remember a wall chart and the Graeme Jones and Lancashire dual to be top scorer. (what a time to start supporting the tics, all uphill from there). The pitch invasion after Mansfield and the players bringing the cup in the supporters club was unforgettable. Thanks dad!!!!
2) Millwall at Wembley, Paul Rodgers… The lions sleep tonight!!!
3) Arsenal, last league cup game at Highbury, Jason Roberts. I can still hear the Arsenal fans ole’s. Magic.
4) Turning up at the millenium stadium surrounded by blue and white, I couldn’t believe it, god knows how older tics fealt.

My old man went to Colwyn Bay v’s Chester last week, whilst my brother is in hospital there. there was 3000 on apparently. wrexham hooligans turned up and smashed the place up. there was two police helicopters and it was like being in Basra he said.
If I was a rugby fan, in thaty situation I would have Fealt inferior to the Wolves, and catalns and Saint Helens as they all have there own ground and thought to myself, why have we, the biggest, most famous and well supported team in the whole wide world not got a ground of our own like Battley, Leigh, Doncaster and other giants of rugby league, Why do we have to rent off that ickle team that play in the backyard of rugby league even though we once tried to kill them.
I would have rather us stuck with the stripes but we haven’t… oh well…. I think the design is pretty decent but it does look like that crappy material from previous years but I will wait till I see one close up before I criticise it. Mixed thoughts though to be honest.
I have noticed in the papers that they had to get the word RECORD in there somewhere,They didn’t sell out after all that marketing and advertising on tv after loose women and Jeremy Kyle, It’s not the record crowd for neither football nor rugby this year or ever. They lost and thought, what can we say to make ourselves feel like the biggest and bestest most brilliant team ever.
Our first home game of the season is Blackpool, This will be the record attendance for this league fixture however I dont think we will shout it from the rooftops for a false sense of pride.
Apparently the Wires fans were Taking this P.I.S.S by throwing a giant inflatable football around the North stand…… quality.

The first Rugby league game ever in 3D won by Warrington Wolves.I dont care what anyone says but I enjoyed that result almost… almost as much as a latics win.

I think he’s better than what we have in reserve, I will be more comfortable with him coming on when the inevitable happens to Kirky than the big Serb.
So all in all its improving the squad but no doubt some people will moan.One of the better players for England this world cup, altough that doesn’t give him the credit he deserves as Wayne Biggins would have been 1 of Englands better players.

It’s only about a thousand worse than we would get with the same away support ( about 100-150). So I don’t know how you could call it pathetic really. Considering this is a football board, there sure are alot of threads about the rugby.

Fulham only brought 100 or so last season and we got about 15500 on (rough estimate so dont get picky). Plus latics’s were dearer tickets and they are not exactly our local rivals like Salford are to the worriers. We were also nowhere near top of the league wich usualy adds a few plus the game was on that dodgy pub channel unlike the Salford game.
The cherry and shite vermin cant possibly argue that they are the biggest sporting attraction in this town. Tics will admit that they once were, in the days when you romped every cup (unfairly), playing against part timers who had just done a day shift down the pit. Those days have gone now, so do as big DW says you scruffy freeloaders.
I was having this out with a klump the other day, he said “Should Blackpool not just forfieght the game, they should have a propper ground”, my reply was, “maybe, but you should have your own ground”. His face after that was a picture.
