hope this negrado talk is true but with bobby and whelan coming out with all this ‘selling club’ and ‘make a proffit’ talk recently i cant see us spending 10 mill on anyone. we do badly nead a striker and i would go for Shola Ameobi, i think he would do the buisness.
Diamme, Bodde, Moses and Killgallon would all be great signings for us, one thing we have always lacked in the prem is numbers and strength in depth. The future is looking bright at wigan despite what some moaning buggers say on here. we have finally got a manager building for the future now, look at the age of some of the players we are signing, just consolidate this year and keap hold of all our players and next year we will fly.

All of um especially The pr..ks that never gave a toss about us (even took the piss out of us) but now go watching us and have the audasity to tell me to”grow up” and “sort my life out”.
Personaly i couldnt care less if the klumps won every trophy going (ok, maybe i would be p….d off). Just dont like these know nothings coming on here spouting shit like bury the hatchet and let bygones be bygones.
I know realistically we need more fans but for me i would gladly drop down a division or two if it got rid of some of the idiots tagging along to see the big boys. ex rugby and man u pr..ks that boo after the first home game of the season.
They wanted nowt do wiv us when we were shit, whats changed?

good un,
I’m a plasterer, I wouldn’t charge her if she asked me to fill a few holes for her.

Chears horc,
“They are a thriving little successfull club but unfortunatly they chose to do it in the backyard of Rugby league”
Never forget.

Or what ever its name is. Fans boycot that stand till its name is given a latics hero name like Harry lyon, Jason Roberts, Graeme Jones. Get in the corner of the West stand. That name must be never uttered on the breath of a true blue.
Imagine Anfield with a Dixie Dean stand or Citehs council stadium having a George Best stand or the main enclosure at Old Trafford cricket ground being named The White Rose Enclosure. Imagine Paddys bar at Ibrox or the Union Flag Flying over Celtic Park (it should). What about the Tangerine Bar at Deepdale or an Alan Shearer stand at Turf Moor.
This could only happen at Latics. At a time when we are finally not the underdogs in our part of Lancashire. When we were the underdogs that vermin club would have gladly and arrogantly ground us in to the ground. Get out of that stand now and remember the insults and mockery. Never forget and let them know on any occasion that we are top dogs now.
Actually the Wigan cycling club stand has quite a nice ring to it.

why should i consider moving from a seat where i have had for years, with a good view and good people around me just because it is called the b….. or whatever get real and sort your life out.
Bob, to some people folowing a team means more than getting a good view of the game, when you you have bean there from the days of matlock, frickley and the likes, being the best none league team in the country year after year but constantly being voted against in the elections to gain entry to the football league.
when you stuck by youre club with a couple of thousand other TRUE suppoters at the bottom of the football league with Kenny Swain as manager, When you chucked youre change into buckets to pay players wages, when you are staring bankruptcy right in the face and you still have the loyalty and passion to stand by them when the rest of the towns football fans ‘support’ yoonited,Liverpool,Blackburn. Then we get what at the time was arguably the biggest game of our history at the time against leads united in the latter stages of the FA cup and ask the local RL club for a bit of help, They basically tell us to get f….d. Then when we reach the freight rover final Maurice lyndsey decides to mock us on national TV instead of being humble it quite rightly p….s theese people off, not to mention the ribbing we used to take for supporting a s..t little club when the rugby (being the only profesional club) Were going to wemberley every year, and boy did they let us Know about it. Now to have a stand in OUR stadium named after one of there legends with Lyndsey on the board is unbelievable, but to be told to grow up by new followers of the club who dont have a clue what it was like in them days and dont know what it means to truely support a club p….s theese people off, you nead to understand. end of rant

you played well last night, Andy keogh was best man on pitch by a mile, also that mancienne was very good. considering you had 4 or 5 first teamers out you might not get a better result than that for a while and credit must be given where credit is due, probably the hardest working team to come to JJB (DW) for 5 years but you also played some decent stuff and the penalty was the most blatant penny not given i have seen in ages, probably since we had three turned down at highbury in carling cup semi final. To be honest the game could have gone either way, you could have won by a few or we could have nicked something which probably would have been a tad harsh on you. You will be OK this season.
As for youre fans- A great turnout for a tuesday night, probably double what we could have gathered. It was youre first away in the prem though and i would have expected a good turn out from you, always been a well supported club.Noise wise you were good but not excellent when that end has been packed by the scoucers, geordies,Maccams, pompey, Mancs and even preston and burnley believe me it was twice as loud, not having a dig as being a latics fan its hard to criticise anyones support. You were quiet for large parts and only got a couple of songs going what raised the roof_ When keogh went off.Allthough i think we can put the quietness down to nerves with it being first win and all that.

Spot on vat69, I had to railroad a few idiots sat near me, i was embarrassed being so close to the boing and moved seats for the second half. Its like you said we weren’t that bad except for the first 20 minutes when we were awfull and i thought wolves were going to have us dead and burried by half time. when we took controll of the game, which we did, they had every man behind the ball and any team would have struggled to score, i think we will POSSIBLEY have more chance of beating united on saturday than we did have of beating wolves on that performance and you will find many teams will struggle against them this season.
Hendry Thomas looks like he is going to be class, he is a machine,
Gomez looks class , completely different to anyone i have ever seen in a latics shrt. However i do think we lacked a plan B, after the first 20 mins i thought, reet, we getting back into this now lets nick a goal before half time and were laughing, but the longer the game went on I was thinking, its not gonna happen tonight, they could have given us 4 hours stoppage time instead of 4 mins and i still dont think we would have scored, not through lack of trying though and thats all any propper latics fan has asked for off there team.
Fair play to wolves they had there gameplan stuck to it worked there b….x off and played some great football themselves at times. Well done and good luck for the season. As for people Booing FFS lads youre an embaressment and do the real fans a favour and fuck off to youre local pub and watch united or whoever may be top of the league at the time.

in reply to: Looking good for today.. #5431

i think it will be the most 1 sided 1-0 wigan win ever.
Cant see them causing any threat at all but like someone else said they will be hard to break down with 10 men behind the ball.
I actually feal sorry for them picking up so many injuries so early on as they will be thinking we are the sort of team they nead to be beating to stay up.
I think they will just survive this season but if they are going to have this sort of luck straight through its going to be very difficult.
good luck Wolves , after tonight anyway

Interestingly I read the Torygraph on the basis that it is informative, educative and reasonable once the right wing bias is discounted. However, today’s report on the game is all about how Villa lost because of Gareth Barry and Laursen had gone and Carew was not playing.
No mention of better team, better football, lack of Cattermole, Valencia, Sibierski, Camara, Heskey, Palacios.
Lazy, uneducated, biased and ignorant deliberate slewing of the facts. Bad journalism – should be done under the Trades Description Act.

we are all aware how lazy these ppl are, lets leave it that way.Remember our 1st prem season, outstanding for the 1st half, dismal for the 2nd half, despite cardiff, the more positive the reports the more other managers and scouts will be attemping to disect our new play, let them think the oposition had an off day each time we win one. lol
very true and proving the so called experts wrong season after season makes you feel proud to be a latics fan, it makes me chuckle when i read some of the dross they come up with. we are the premier leagues worst nightmare and i for one love it.

in reply to: Wolves Fan in peace #5353

Its a nightmare getting off the club car park, youre best bet is to get there early and try to find a spot near the bricklayers arms in springfield, just a few minutes walk to ground. best place for a drink for away fans is either the red robin or in the away stand bar.
