What has cost us dearly this season is the inability to finish & basic defending, oh & as Edwards (I think it was) pointed out using about 500 players – the latter no fault of our own. The past few games, something has clicked. Long may that continue until the end of the season.

A brilliant win tonight and a real chance of staying up now , how many of us would have said that a few months ago?
Still a few cup finals to go though but two brilliant back to back wins give us real hope.
If Richardson keeps us up then he deserves the job 100% because that would be the greatest escape ever in our history !
So proud , well done lads and particularly young Langy proving to any young player struggling to make headway to stick at it and be loyal and you never know what can happen.

Couldn’t have put it any better myself Vince.

The more I read about our new owners the more reassurance I get that these guys really have the clubs best interest at heart, & have a lot of ambition (albeit at a steady pace)! :yahoo:

You are spot on with what you say cup winners & it may indeed take 3 – 5 years to return to the championship. But how many clubs has this happened to down the years, only for them to eventually climb back to the top? Quite a few.

The vibe I get with our new owners is that they are ambitious. But they will match that ambition at a steady, patient pace as opposed to wanting over night success. We too need to be patient.

I believe we will come out stronger!!

Steady on mate, you could at least buy him a orange juice first.

Haha! I seriously have a good feeling about this takeover which I never felt upon the takeover by IEC. Always had my doubts.

Not sure if anyone has picked up on this, but I read an updated statement from our new chairman that someone shared to Facebook. In it he mentions that the 1st goal is to get back to the championship but that they require our support & patience in doing so. And they are in it for the long haul.

I read that as someone who will spend money, but at the same time understands that success requires time & doesn’t happen overnight.

I for one was never convinced by choi from day 1. But I’m in love with this guy from the off. I’ve a good feeling :yahoo:

Now we have the club back, is everyone in agreement with me that the first thing our new owners should do is re-employ every single member of staff who lost their jobs? And especially, bring back Jonathan Jackson.

These past 9 months have been nothing short of turbulence, tears, depression, hope, optimism, rejection & now one of absolute joy. Basically it has been a whole array of mixed emotions for us all. At times I hoped & prayed for a buyer whilst in my own head was preparing for the worst & the what if we have no football club? But I would have always stuck by this club no matter what even had we have had to reform in non league again.

I never once felt convinced by choi & IEC, but I do with our new owners. UTT :yahoo:

My analysis might be boring to some, but here goes:

The drive down the M56 & M6 from Runcorn & getting to my parents house for around dinner time – obviously stopping off at Galloway’s (poolstock) en route. Watching a football game on TV or Jeff Stelling et al if there is no game. My dad asking me the same question “have you heard any team news?” And my usual reply of no!

Walking down to the DW past Eleanor St remembering my old grandparents house that was knocked down to build the new road. Crossing the road walking down the canalside with the anticipation of the match building up with each step. A huge smile upon my face as I arrive at the DW with an equal feel of excitement & pre match nerves.

Entering the concourse. My dad putting his bet on whilst my son & I make our way to the kiosk. Coffee, hot chocolate & pepsi max are ordered – sometimes the occasional chocolate bar, bag of crisps, or even a pie if its a lunch time kick off!

Checking the screens to see who is in the team & either bemused or delighted at the selection. The walk up the steps & the excitement building up once more. Getting to my seat in E6 & breathing in the atmosphere & the pre match nerves creeping in once more.

Applauding the teams as they enter onto the field. I have my own superstition before the game starts. As the team is announced 1 by 1, I applaud each player 3 times. No idea where it came from, but it’s something I’ve done now for many a year. And then watching the game in either excitement, frustration, boredom & many other emotions during 90 minutes. Watching latics I think I go through every emotion possible in 90 minutes than what I do in a week.

After the game, the Springfield run now adopted for the DW comes into effect as we (no idea why) run to the car park before settling for a casual walk back to my parents home. Eventually the drive back to Runcorn & checking the league table on my arrival whilst having my tea.

Here here, can I be greedy and ask for a Latics win Tomorrow too?

Asking for a win ain’t greedy at all.

Apparently the deal has gone through. I wonder if the players knew about it & it boosted them to victory.

Just seen elsewhere that the Bahraini group have agreed final price with the admins. Figures now been sorted out after some minor haggling.

It definitely wasn’t gutless, it was just bad finishing and anxiety in front of goal.

Apart from the obvious blunder leading to their goal we did play some good stuff.

How good is Luke Robinson getting?

I thought up until their gift of a goal we were playing quite decent. It was more a case of bad defending yet again that cost us. I appreciate this team has been thrown together with blu tack & sellotape, but the error was down to “basic” defending.

As a coach many years ago of an under 7, 8 & 9’s football team, we taught & drilled it into them to talk to one another on the pitch. It was another embarrassing blunder yet again.
All one of them had to do was shout to the other.

I thought we were the better team in the second half & had at least a couple of decent chances.

And I agree, Robinson is a great prospect. As are quite a few others.
