What worries me more than anything is steve kean’s name mentioned a fair bit on here. DW might start getting ideas. :O
Now that’s funny, even after seeing about thirty times on proper social media.
Betty wishes he had employed a better manager now! :)
I heard too that he was coaching the kids. Has he been.coaching kiernan as well in his spare time.
IMO people need to take a serious reality check with this “rise & fall” malarky. We are wigan athletic. One of the smallest clubs not just in premier league terms, even championship, but within all 4 divisions. We have only been a league club since 1978 when i made my bow as a young 6 year old supporter & what i have seen this club achieve in a small amount of time is brilliant in my eyes. Yes we are having a hard time at the moment. But throughout my football watching years i have seen clubs greater & bigger than ourselves suffer similar or even worse situations (given the size of that club) but they have always bounced back. It might not be immediately, it may take 5, 10, 15, 20 years before they get back but they do in the end. Football consists if ups & downs -:just get on with it. I am.
I think you are, quite simply, the most childish man I have ever come across.
I haven’t commented about Martinez for months. Why would I? It’s much more fun laughing at, and commenting on, you (supposedly grown) men getting all upset about a bloke who doesn’t even work for the club anymore.
Fishing, you? You’re not remotely clever enough to be doing this to wind people up. Your pathetic, infantile hate-filled bile spits through every post on this thread. It’s so obvious to see. And it’s YOU who keeps getting wound up on this thread but you just can’t see it at all.
That’s why you’re silly. Very silly. Keep it up though, it’s a great spectator sport.
What was the edit for Mr Numpty? You was obviously that wound up, your fingers couldn’t make sense of what your noggin was thinking. As for me being wound up, let’s not forget that I and many others have the bagging rights on this post at the mo, I am far from wound up and couldn’t give a gnats nudger what you think about me,
You stick to trying to belittle the kids on here and let us grown ups stick to the topic subject. Look back on previous threads, I only stick the boot in to people who chose to go personal. Let’s just say I defend my corner when I need to and do it rather well. If you don’t like it that’s your problem. Why don’t you stop the personal insults when you disagree with what other posters think, disagree by all means, but don’t be such a baby resorting to name calling. If you don’t call me, I won’t call you, honestly, but I’ll still put the boot into Martinez. …………………champions league.
Bragging rights?? BRAGGING RIGHTS??? I stopped reading your post at that point…
How many more times?? Nobody cares about Martinez and Everton’s past, current or future league position apart from you and the other saddos who clearly have more interest in another club than the one you supposedly support. Everybody else (who matters) is just laughing at how sad and pathetic you are.
I’m laughing griff as i’ve never seen such banter since jimmy bullard & jake quickenden in i’m a celebrity…..
After that bleedin’ tackle i’ll drive him there me-self.
Tick Tock, Tick Tock; two more places to go !This post is set to run !
I bet the OP (LHL) had no idea it would run this long.
BTW is this the longest thread in CL history.Ok Ok Ok, Bobby got us relegated then fooked off so he is obviously a judas. Forget the fact that his chairman had been touting his skills to the footballing world stating he will one day go on to bigger and better things. Forget the fact that the club did nowt to persuade him to stay and that the switch to Everton was silky smooth. Forget the fact that under severe restrictions the lad kept us in the Prem for 3 seasons when we were universally written off as relegation certs. Forget the fact that in his time here the club was seen as playing attractive football which kept us in the limelight giving us very positive press.Has it ever occurred to anyone of you who slag him off that Mr Whelan may have thought it was the right time for Bobby to leave and behind closed doors have actually encouraged the move away. Sure in public he was going to hope Bobby wouldn’t go but it just seems to me all is not just about Bobby wanting out.
As for the cup, some of you lot are implying that he neglected the league in order to win it   . This club proved that day why it is the greatest to be involved with. We were never ever going to win the F A Cup coz we were not supposed to do and Everton and City only had to take the field and normal service would be resumed. This amazing club constantly defies belief and some of the big bollox’s forget to give us respect at their peril and as City found out. In the 2 games mentioned Bobby got his tactics spot on and we deservedly won it. The performance that day at Wembley was the stuff dreams are made of and it was a certain Mr Martinez who engineered it brilliantly.
So continue to call him judas and remind us all that it was he who despicably got us relegated as you are entitled to your opinions and to be honest I get great pleasure reading some of the posts. Me personally I see it in a very different light and actually think that the way he kept us up so long is not that far away from the success he had winning the cup.
Wigan Athletic, the real Melchester Rovers.
I respect your views nuneaton, but your last sentence gives me cause for concern. We haven’t got a roy race unfortunately.
Sorry guys for my repeat posts. Thought my original message hadn’t posted
In all honesty 35 give me the cup any day. Forever in the history books & all that. However whilst bobby takes great credit for that wonderful day as well as the only manager in our PL history to beat the elite clubs within the league, he will also go down in history as relegating us from the PL then deciding to feck off. Had he have done what i wrote in my above posts he would have left with a great deal more respect from some (not all i admit), but from myself most definitely, who would have wished him well.
Oh aye he’s slow with a poor touch alright! He just hasn’t been given a chance to do what he’s good at and why we bought him.
Agree with you there Tez. Simply not been given a chance to prove himself.
Give me the cup any day 35 in all honesty as that will never ever be taken away from us & will forever be in the record books. Infact it was great to see OUR clubs name in the Shoot annual 2015 within the FA cup winners section of the book. I actually stared at it for ages with a great sense of pride, & i admit, a little tear in my eye. For that great moment in the club’s history (including victories over the elite clubs in the PL which no other manager during the PL years could achieve) – i will forever be grateful to bobby for that.
However, he was the one who did relegate us from the PL then fecked off. Had he have done what i wrote in my above posts he would have been given a great deal of respect from those (maybe not all but from a lot more supporters) who have not forgiven him for what he did & it is for that reason why i personally hope he & everton fail.My problem is he also got us fekin relegated, then dumped us.
Do you realise how silly you sound?
Not really Griff to be fair. As i’ve said before on this thread & others, had he kept us up then decided to leave – thats fine in my book. Had he stayed for 1 season in the championship & decided he had taken us as far as he could – that is also fine by me.
Sorry Griff, but i have to agree with JR on this one.5 ex Latics players in the Team Today.Noticed that myself.
He is one of those people who i for one wouldn’t have minded as manager of our club. Like someone else posted, quite decent promotion record.
