UEFA Europa league draw today as FA Cup winners we are in it thanks Bobby and thanks DW :)
By winning 7 matches -‘mostly against lower league opposition.
35, i was only highlighting what everton fans are saying especially after last night
“IMO it is because “little” wigan are seen by many teams in the championship ie doncaster, bournemouth & many others as “THEIR” cup final – like when we played utd, liverpool et al & will therefore raise their game. We are 3 games into a league with new players, manager & it will take time to gel. I also believe that some of our fans & many on here IMO who have underestimated this divisionh. The worst thing we could have done was hammer barnsley on the first day & suddenly everyone believes were going going to go all season undefeated. Dont forget we also have the europa league to contend with &”this could hinder any promotion prospects. Lets just see how the season pans ilout &”enjoy the ride.
I agree as ive said in another post, things did improve once fortune came on.
Sorry JR i have to disagree. Yes he was ok for the first 20 mins like you said, after that he had a poor game IMO & i agree with bronxbomber. Things did improve once fortune came on.
Well TBH i’m still over the moon about us winning the FA cup.
Salford i appreciate that players, managers etc come & go, but its sometimes the manner in the way people leave that can leave sour tastes. Cheers JR. You know where i was coming from & share the same sentiments. However i also agree with 35. Lets move on & roll on next tuesday.
Good points barnsley but if memory serves me correct, coyle left halfway through the season or a bit after & burnley repaced him with a manager who wasnt up to premier league standard. Dont get me wrong if coyle were to relegate us this season to league 1 then jump ship, my sentiments would remain the same to him as they do to bobby. Like i said, had martinez kept us up & decided to embark upon a new challenge, i would be wishing him every success & hoped it worked out for him. & Like i also said, ive nothing against him personally
Sorry griff but i disagree as part of me wants him to fail. Im not anti martinez as i do like the fellow but i have felt betrayed in the manner in the way he left – again, not anti martinez as i would be saying the same thing had it have been someone else who had taken us down then jumped ship at the first opportunity. Had he have kept us up i wouldn’t have minded him leaving as he would have achieved his goal & he could have left with his head held high knowing job done & in different circumstances, would have wanted him to have done well at everton, but no sorry, i hope it goes pear shaped for him.
Credit to martinez though for targeting beasejour instead of maloney or mcmanaman. Everton fans WILL be in for a treat if they do sign the french wizard.
Im not criticising coyle but i was surprised to see the long ball as i always thought coyle played the passing game but in a more direct & forward way, as opposed to martinez’s sideway approach.
This squad have an inaugural Europe campaign to negotiate as well as 8 extra league games and hopefully a decent fight to hang on to our FA Cup, yes our FA Cup.
I’m not saying that Coyle is going to pull this off, but by gum he’s certainly preparing the troops, they just need to fire the ammo for him and it could be a great season in store. :cheer:[/quote]
I agree JR. Im really looking forward to this season myself – a lot more than the past 7 seasons.
Although he’s 32, be a decent signing at championship level & on a free as well.
Dont go to rhyl. Its platt bridge on sea.
Is he better than Sammon?
