Giggs for me, we’ve a half decent squad I’m sure someone of Giggs winning pedigree will get the results. Probably attract a few Wigan based plastic mancs to our games and lift the profile of our club at the same time.
We don’t want Jabba the hutt at our club.
Really gutted, I was really hoping Gary would turn it around.
Thanks Gary for some great memories and good luck for the future.
Football town or rugby town, depends on who you ask.
Ask your average overweight middle age woman or OAP in Wigan and my bet would be they will tell you it’s a rugby town and they cant stand the pathetics.
Ask your well dressed young man around town and it’s a footy town and he supports his local team and if you’re gonna take the piss he’ll smash your face in.
I’m not labelling everyone in the above categories there is quite a few oddballs that follow the rugby and we have the odd one or two. And we do have our share of footy loving middle age men that like a bit of a drink.
A proper mate would try and talk him out of getting married.
Due to work commitments, I go to away games when I can and I quite fancied this one, but I think I will be now giving it a miss now by choice. Some clubs need to remember Football was a working class game, don’t price the working class out.
The west ham game is probably my favourite home game of all time, 2nil down at half time, the brooding atmosphere, the Millwall plane, the rugby fans celebrating our relegation on cherry and white. We were relegated with a minute to go then Charlie put the ball between the Greens legs, cue Ali’s celebrations and a fantastic trip to Stoke.
Good luck Charlie and thanks for the memories.
I think some of you are being hard give the lads some credit, Wolves never stopped pressing, their work rate when not in possession was the best I’ve seen this season. A good win against a team that will win more than they will lose.
Lost his dream job the job he wanted for the last 10 years, just a pity he didn’t respect the role he had been given, It’s not as if he was being paid poorly before he decided to stick his snout in the trough.
I was saying last night that we needed a Gomez type player on the pitch, somebody that can invite challenges and win free kicks around the box.
Far too intelligent a player for Sunderland to appreciate.
Welcome back Jordi,
I have to be honest I’m really looking forward to some good trips next season and hopefully see some decent performance’s
GC cant do any worse than malky that’s for sure, thinking about it Gary cant fail, nobody’s expecting us to escape relegation so pressures off and if he does scrape a couple of results then at least we’ve gone down fighting. I always thought he came across as a genuine likeable guy, so good luck Gary.
It’s been bloody awful watching latics this season and its testament to the loyalty of the fans that our crowds have stayed over 11k consistently.
Only because they bought STs on the back of a successful campaign and an FA Cup semi final the season before. Watch them plummet in August, regardless of which division you are in.[/quote]
They wont plummet to the numbers the rugby had when they dropped a division that’s for sure!
Biggest game of their season and only £10 to get on.
Good point yesterday but we have to follow it up next week with a win, the teams just above us are in better form and will continue to pull away if we don’t start getting some results. If I was a betting man my money would be on relegation.
