The figures don’t add up mate. If we fill the stadium every week, that equates to an additional seven thousand in the stadium per game. Multiply that by nineteen, and you get an extra 133,000. If everyone paid £25 for their ticket, that’s just over £3.3 million extra revenue a year, which would pay the salaries of one and a half decent players.
The only way of making the revenue from gate receipts a bit more attractive, would be to increase the tickets cost per person, and that isn’t going to happen.
Whatever your personal feelings towards Whelan, he’s the best chairman this club could ever hope for.
Considering where Ruben comes from , maybe bringing him in via Goose Green wasn’t the best of ideas.Just a thought like. :?
   Very good.
If Villarreal hadn’t released a story to say it was all confirmed, everyone would be under the impression that the deal was still being hammered out.
He wants to sign for us, and the two clubs want to conclude a deal, so it will go ahead.
Ah come on Sniper, there are some pretty poor areas of Wigan as well. I’ll not name them as there will be people who frequent this site who are from there.
Old Skem isn’t Scouse, it’s basically an extension of Up Holland, and genuine Old Skemmers are as broad Lancashire as you’ll find. I should know, I married one.
Don’t know, but he is a Beech Hill lad.
Just reading about the England fan club trying to push for england fans to buy the remaining 6000 tickets out of 29000 tickets allocated. They have just gone on general sale.
What happened to the expected two and half million fans going, predicted by some of the media. Ok overhyped as usual but I thought the tickets would of been like gold dust? I am tempted to try and go, was thinking of going before even just to watch the games in the fans zones etc. We have sold more tickets than anybody else, maybe security is an issue.
heres the story link
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8478339.stmYou can get travel packages and tickets easy enough through the official travel channels:

Other than that, you can apply for tickets, but accommodation is virtually impossible if you’re arranging it yourself.
He looks like a ginger ET.
Does he smell of urine?? Or am I thinking of another ginger legend from the Springfield Park era??Never used to miss a game home or away.
Can’t actually tell what either of them say when they speak!!
He was in the same year as me at school, and he certainly smelled of it then. He was always in the ‘special’ sets, and spent him time painting class room radiators.
Please Papa please make this stop now….
He’s guaranteed to be better than Hall, Webster, Hagen and the likes.Amen to that brother!
His contract expired towards the end of the month, so he was only a free agent for a week or so. The reason no German club came in for him was that had publically expressed his desire to leave Germany on numerous occasions over recent months, and said he wanted to go to England. Barnsley were the other interested club!
He’s only on a contract until the end of the season, so if he proves himself he will win a longer contract, and if he’s sh1te, he goes. Fingers crossed he’ll be a decent signing.
Whatever happens, he still looks better than Amaya.
Party people ~Problem house belgian techno at its best  :You are being ironic aren’t you?
He got released by Hamburg half way through the season, so I assume they released him because they thought he was terrible and not as his contract just ran out as it was mid season. He didn’t make the African Cup of Nations squad for Ivory Coast. I’ve heard that he was uninterested and poor in a reserve game. And in the game against Notts County, he was hardly a rock at the back.It was Borussia he played for, not Hamburg, and his contract expired in December. He didn’t get on with the coach because of his off-the-pitch antics (have you seen the message sent to Jayt by the Borussia supporters club?) but was still regarded as a legend by the supporters. He might not have looked too impressive in the reserves game, and tha match on Saturday as he hasn’t played for a month and a half, and be realistic, would you select someone to play for your national team who hasn’t actually been playing?
;) :)Bob, does that knowing wink mean you are an alien? Go on, you can tell us. We won’t inform the authorities.
OK. Slightly less provocative, but similar question. Two choices:
1. FA Cup and 17th place
2. 50 pts and 10th place, a la Jewells first season. As an aside, I’d have swapped 10th place in 05/06 for 17th and the Carling Cup.
So, effectively, what you’re asking by changing the parameters is, win the FA Cup, or not win the FA Cup?
You should have kept the question as it was. At least there was some scope for debate. (Even though survival wins every time)
