Yes it is. It’s a big city though, so be careful.
What about Joe Palladino?
Six and seven eighths for me.
Wigan a ghetto, and Scotland isn’t? Have you been to Paisley or Dundee?
Was it Lemmy?
He is a top bloke.
I recently read his book, Jellyman Throws A Wobbly, and he talks a lot of sense.
Actually, I watched a bit of gss and I think Stelling knows that Jewell would stick up for Wigan and probably set him up accordingly
not sure about that myself,i still think they like to have a cheap shot whenever they can,i do like stelling, but he`s no different than the rest of em.
He’s one of them, The Others. They don’t like our sort. Kill..kill..kill

Because he gets paid about three million quid a year, and he wouldn’t consider playing for Wigan.
Very clear, concise and accurate answer but ……………… don’t you sometimes feel it is groundhog day? How many times must this answer be put forward before it registers?
Sure do. As Yogi Berra said ‘It’s like déjà vu all over again’
11 January 2010 at 7:27 pm in reply to: Latics attendances given another slant by the Daily Mail #17886I just think its about time we get over the fact the fact that man united, liverpool or whoever play close by, there always gonan be there, i cant stand all that sympathy wigan get off the press, i find it embarrasing, middlesbrough got a poor crowd the same day you didnt hear them whinging about it saying newcastles only up the road or whatever, we’re gonna have to get over this if we ever want to get taken serious, not sure if anyone will agree with me or not, but thats what I think. For starters, Middlesbrough have been in a Football League club for 85 years longer than Wigan Athletic, which I think is ample time to build up a fanbase and a hatred for Newcastle United.
So all the people who have grown up supporting Bolton, Man U, Man City, Liverpool and Everton who live in the borough of Wigan should just start supporting Wigan Athletic then?
We already have 14% of the population with a season ticket. If we increase this to 25%, we could fill the stadium every week no problem.
Or better still, let’s start producing fans in a can at Heinz? That should do it.
No, forgot the pies. £75 million then. Should I include the £5-£6 million a year he gets for car parking?
Are you being serious if it were not for Whelan we would still be in the third divison at best playing at Springfield Park in front of 2000 people every week. I am not the biggest Whelan fan as he has promised war chest after war chest that hasnt materialised however what he has done for the club and the town has been amazingAre you seriously asking if I’m being serious?
Yes, but have you forgotten that he makes £60m a year out of the club, and if he wasn’t involved, we’d be playing Champions League football by now?
11 January 2010 at 6:46 pm in reply to: Latics attendances given another slant by the Daily Mail #17869It’s fair to assume that there were some people would have boycotted in a similar way to you Loudmouth, but it’s hardly likely to be five thousand or so.
I would have thought time of year, lack of interest in the FA Cup, expense and weather were more significant reasons. We only got ten thousand on against Arsenal in a Carling Cup Semi Final a few years back – and that could hardly be blamed on the team’s recent performances.
11 January 2010 at 5:44 pm in reply to: Latics attendances given another slant by the Daily Mail #17863Okay, sorry, maybe the thick comment was uncalled for.
However, I would not consider the facts we have nine other more established clubs close proximity, a substantial population of the town with Scouse heritage, and a professional Rugby League club competing for supporters to be mere excuses.
Yes there were ten thousand on at Springfield Park, but not just after Christmas during the coldest winter on records, with two reserve sides playing.
Because he gets paid about three million quid a year, and he wouldn’t consider playing for Wigan.
