For me, he’s gotta go, just get anyone to take over, coaches whoever. Its 9 games for God sake not 19 so we just need the players to shake off the Cook shackles and relagation cloud and look at our next 2 games as our Cup finals.

If you’re saying that it is his tactics (I agree on occasions) then whoever comes in needs to be able to change those for the good. Joyce for example couldn’t do that. Solskjaer at United has got them playing a totally different way to how Mourinho did as well as lifting the cloud. If we are blaming Cook’s tactics then we need someone to do both as well.

When your manager says he feels physically sick with worry then I’m sorry but that sends out all the wrong messages to the players.

Was he not saying he felt physically sick at how we lost to Reading and not with regards to us going down?

That is a point though in terms of his comments. He has been positive when we have lost before and has been chastised for it. As soon as he mentions something negative he gets chastised for it.

If he stays and we set our stall out as we have done since Christmas then I can only see us going down. We only stand a true chance if he’s gone. Those players at Blackburn weren’t the same ones at Ipswich , they’ve gone

I don’t think we can afford to play for a point in many games at the moment. We need to get 4 or 5 points ahead again before we even consider that, BUT the fact is we are 1 goal outside the bottom 3 so we need to make sure we don’t just give away goals like we did on Tuesday. I’ve never quite understood the “may as well lose 2-0 than 1-0” comments with goal difference hanging around.

If we go down and Cook remains (God forbid) I will not be renewing my season ticket. I can just about live with us playing in League One but not under Cook. His style of play and his choice of OAP player is at times unwatchable. I could not bare 10 months of going watching that, I’ll pick my games if and when thanks

        No thankyou

What about if we stay up and Cook stays?

Do you really have a reasoned opinion on the sorry state of our club ?.Instead of your mundane “21st place is what we set out to achieve “shit. You really want Cook to remain if we achieve that ? This whole affair smacks of a manager totally out of his comfort zone. His shocking transfers particularly Olsen,Clarke as well as the Cole ,Walker,Macmanaman farce. Some of the worst football I’ve set my eyes on at this club in years. A Team completely bereft of any cohesion and players with zero confidence. An away record I’m sure we’ll never match again ..ever …and still your willing to support a manager who if still in place after Saturday could send our club down and possibly into long term financial melt down. Does your blind faith in Cook overide your love of the club ? or your that entrenched in this 5 month posting “get behind Cook “crusade you are never going to admit that you have changed your mind and realise for the sake of the club he needs to leave.

I think for the sake of the club we need consistency. We can’t keep sacking managers and replacing squads. Cook needs to see it out. If we go down then clearly we weren’t good enough for this level which in all honesty we probably aren’t. We are a top end League 1, bottom end Championship side. Similar to Newcastle. Their fans think they should be winning things as well when realistically they are a relegation candidate every season in the Prem.

We need to see where the season takes us and then build from there. If that means spending big bucks in League 1 terms to build a squad to not only take us up but to keep us up then so be it (ala Paul Jewell) otherwise we accept that financially League 1 is our level unless IEC decide to splash money about ala Dave Whelan. We have far too many players not good enough for this level, yes most are Cooks signings but if you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

If that’s how it works grumps, then why does the same team not win the Premier League every season and the same 3 sides just yo-yo up and down.

We have definitely struggled against the sides below us but have grabbed points off the sides we probably shouldn’t have, so who knows what will happen.

I actually thought we played well against Boro, Derby and Reading and really should have had more than 1 point from those games but it was the usual mistakes/falling apart at the seams that cost us.

There is an apathy and resignation about the way we are playing at the moment and this needs to be addressed. My point is I’m not convinced Cook is capable of changing that.

                    We’ll see on Saturday.
As soon as we go behind our heads drop especially away from home.

I agree in terms of whether or not Cook can change that because you would expect it to have changed by now if he could.

I don’t think many of us would have disagreed about the side last night. Does he make changes or does he give those players the chance to redeem themselves? He seemed to do the latter last season so possibly will again.

For me, I actually prefer Kipre to Dunks so I would make that change and hopefully Fox is back.

It’s going to be a long week I think.

The annoying thing is how many times we have contributed to our own downfall. The last 2 goals were shocking and the first is a penalty from nothing. We constantly put ourselves on the back foot especially away from home.

I agree mutty and to add to the issue, our budget is p*** poor compared to others in this division meaning rather than grab a goal scorer like Bamford who has done it at this level, we sign Windass who we think might do it.

We were all happy when Walton decided to stay but he hasn’t been anything close to the same standard hence why he was dropped. Windass, Calum, Gibson and Evans all seemed good signings at the time but have flattered to deceive. Calum can have an argument I guess seeing as he hasn’t been used. I’m not sure how Sheff Utd used Clarke but it was clearly not how we use him because he has been dreadful. I’m not sure Grigg would have done any better but he certainly wouldn’t have done any worse.

We are in trouble there is no doubt about that, but as I said at xmas who replaces Cook? You can’t simply say “anyone would be better” because as we showed with Mackay and Joyce that simply isn’t true.

If we lose on Saturday and slip into the 3 then the owners may act but whether people want to see his contract or not, which as I said it won’t be even mentioned, our aim was to stay up. No more. No less.

Didnt think Dack (or Blackburn) was that good, but Powell was anonymous.

We had plenty ball and did f*** all with it. Cheap goals again.

Ffs egg stop spouting shite and say it like it is
You and Stu have to be the amongst the most naive fans we have ever had. For weeks we have been garbage coz the manager is not up to championship level. What will it take for you to see how crap we are and admit it. All you can say is “we are not in the bottom 3” well its coming and no matter how deep you and Stu bury your heads in the sand sooner or later the penny will drop.
Where did I say we were good?
You didn’t but you defend every defeat with the not bottom 3 diatribe. Egg lad, it isn’t just about the next few games but next season as well. Will you be happy to see us in the same position if by some miracle we survive. No obviously you won’t. I loved Cookie as a player and 2 promotions back to back say he has something but at this level he has been found wanting. It hurts so much because I believe we should have been good enough to be mid table but we have brought about our own downfall. The buck has to stop at the manager its the way it’s always been.
What happens next season is where IEC come into it. If they don’t spend then we will struggle regardless of who is in charge.
