Nick Powell has been done for drink driving too. Shall we let him go?
I don’t care what he does off the field personally.
Gibson too for some reason.“Gibson, 30, has played just shy of 100 Premier League games in spells with Manchester United, Everton and Sunderland and also won 27 international caps.”
That’s why

Just wondering how Cookies plans are going. Was it in his plans to go through all the pre-season without a left back or left sided wing back and still not to have filled that position on the day the new season starts.
Seems a bit wierd.
Wednesday are there for the taking and are the sort of side we really need to take maximum points from as they finished in the bottom half last season.
Question is can we do what we should be capable of with this sort of misplaced planning.Of course it wasn’t his plan to go all pre-season without a left back but real life isn’t as easy as Football Manager, FIFA or Fantasy Premier League in the Chorley Guardian or Nob End Echo.
Let’s see what tomorrow brings first shall we before we throw the toys out the pram?
Does that mean Bobby is looking at the Spain job?He might be looking but he won’t get it as they’ve already given it to Luis Enrique.
I think 30 quids reasonable these days
Of the players we have brought in only Macca is tried at this levelWhich is exactly why I want us to sign Perch, Wallace and Gibson.
All valid points TL. Ian Breckin asked to leave in 2005 as he didn’t think he could cut it in the PL. Maybe Cole has done the same?
The fact he is untried at this level means that we have to be pretty confident that he will succeed because we can’t afford to carry players in the hope they are good enough. Financially or in a bid to survive and consolidate.
Perhaps Cook has decided he won’t make the step up so we need to cut our losses and use the money he is taking from the budget to sign someone who is cut out for this level. Wallace perhaps.
Exactly TL.
The way we have been run over the years means they are not just buying out a company’s shares they are buying the shares of about 4 companies that each own a part of what makes up WAFC.
That all depends on how far along this takeover actually is.
If they have paid for the new pitch then who says they haven’t been pushing some investment into other areas of the club?
Cook has already said there will definitely be more signings so there must be money somewhere in the transfer/wage budgets.
Not a bad first start. Obviously be more to talk about once the season starts.
Haven’t we already said that we don’t need to sell?
Grigg is pretty much in the last chance saloon as far as having a future at Championship level (or above) & I for one hope he is able to succees
I know that technically he’s only really played there one season & that was with us but hasn’t he already been sold once or twice by clubs once they’ve got promoted/ So the impression that he’s an excellent Lge1 striker but not up to the step up is already out there.
He knows that feeling is out there too as you could tell by his comments once he’d scored a couple at the start of the 16/17 season. As for whether he is good enough, I always get the feeling that he lacks the extra pace needed in the Championship to get into the spaces he finds at Lge1 level & I do feel that he sometimes needs several chances to score before he puts one away & he’ll get less chances at a higher level
However you can’t argue that he did well at the start of that 16/17 season & it was only when Caldwell spoke about changing the tactics that the goals dried up. There was also some concerns that the birth of his child effected him & he was carrying a knee injury that eventually required surgeryFingers crossed he can silence the doubters
I also have my doubts about Power, Jacobs, Massey, Vaughan & several others
Agree with all that which is why I think the signings of players like Hoolahan, Gibson and Perch (established at that level or above) will be good signings
All of the above
