Let’s give it our utmost and hope others slip up.

It’s all we can do. Not over until it’s over.

Who do you want as the next boss? I haven’t seen you name anyone definitive yet. ;)

A touch like yesterday’s 3-7-1. I know they didn’t play in that formation but why play seven midfielders when there are strikers (young I know) right backs etc at the club.
Next year just follow one model. Keep a formation and play players in position. If there’s a suspension or injury just replace that player with a like for like player. Simple.
Since we brought in Overhyped to replace Yanick how many times as he played left wing? That’s his position. Why weaken a position?

I do agree with you in a way and it is something that at the rugby has paid dividends. How else does someone get experience without playing?

I’d have liked young Luke Burke to stay fit and make the RB position his own like Baines did at LB all those years ago because he looked good at the end of the season.

Not that easy in a results business donny. Thats why the top clubs always buy.

I can imagine the board now if we played some young lad who had an absolute stinker.

Barrow probably.

Gilks nailed on to let one through his legs now

It would be our season to a tee.

Donny sharpy said 1m for desso pitch would stretch the clubs budget bllx i ask what has happened to the 7m yanic money
Oh sorry earning a nice tidy monthly interest for the whelan family i bet

So you reckon the £7m will vanish from the club’s accounts and nobody will notice?

:pinch:
Why not? Every other penny we have made has!

It wasn’t a matter of going for the cheap option because both he and Hughton were out of work at the time.

I imagine one wanted higher wages than the other.

Someone obviously done him in training. Well done whoever it was.

Hold your horses. I’ve never said I’m.not going anymore. I said I was considering giving the next 3 games a miss, due to getting so irate last weekend.

People need to stop adding bits on to suit. “Wigan whispers”

This definitely doesn’t say “considering giving them a miss”

I’m giving our last couple of home games a miss now,

You can’t say that and not expect responses. Although I’ll wager that that is exactly why you did.

we might be only 1 point from safety…

We could and that is the message that needs to be flooded through to the players, but sadly they look lost, down and I can’t see them being able to lift in order to get the points we need.

You do realise we have one of the best defences in the league vat69?

The reason why we are 2nd bottom is because we have the worst attack.

Well we’ve shipped some awful goals. Not many absolute class strikes taken points off us, but plenty of scrambled, ‘should’ve been cleared’ Goals scored against us.

My attitude is your first line of defence should be your attack. But as we play a line striker…..
And there is the problem. Because our defence gives silly goals away we are always on the back foot because we can’t score goals.

The number of games we have lost by 1 goal being testament to that.

Sub-consciously have you seen some article about that cross-code rugby challenge that Wigan played Bath in the 90s?

That was two seperate matches though. The half and half match was Saints v Sale in around 2006

Mr Whelan pulled the plug on any investment in the club once we won the fa cup.
That is a FACT.

And having piled quite a large amount of his PERSONAL fortune into the club for practically NOTHING in return he had every right.

He left the club in a healthy financial position with no debts whatsoever (having achieved all of the things he said we would and more). Whilst making a loss last year I still believe that we have NO DEBTS to anybody other than ourselves through a very sensible business structure.

Why do we have no money to invest? Well we sell season tickets at next to nothing, we have very little fan base outside of ST holders to bump up the attendances, we sell practically nothing in merchandise.

Unless someone comes along with a vast sum of money they feel like pissing up the wall then the only money we have to invest is from player sales which is why we have gone back to buying cheap, selling high and relying on loans.

Ask yourself, if you were a 70 year old millionaire would you waste your family’s future on a football club that you have already spent millions on?
