A better option to go 442 when we need something than Davies IMO.
EDIT – He’s signed
Starting line-up was stupid.
They were well set up though. Reminded me of the Burton game last season when old Jimmy was still there. Came to frustrate us and it worked.

Maybe he should watch a re run of the 2013 FA Cup final, see a Wigan club win a big trophy.
Not watched the game, seen the highlights or read the match report. Never do. It’s like the end of Bullseye…….”look what you could have won”
Is this the guy we were looking at last year?
Usual suspects as well.
For me Gomez starts on the bench and comes on if we need something late on.
So all last seasons side were playing in league one so that was their level so they should all have gone! That’s taking it to the extreme I know. For SOME players it is the Manager’s belief that yes it is their level so they will be moved on if possible. For others the Manager believes they are capable of more so will keep them.
Not rocket science.
In most cases if a player is good enough for a certain division he is playing in it. If we feel any players wont cut it in the championship then its better to let them go and bring someone in who we think is. Its that simple. There is no room for loyalty. Its business.
Dont forget also that as we sign new players that they will probably be on higher wages than last season add to that pay rises for promotion and more players will have to go than come in to balance the books. Again…..business.
They get given a go every day in training to reach certain levels. Maybe some can’t
But they could reach those levels only a few months ago in training?
How does a coach/manager change his training techniques/standards and intensity to fit in with whatever League the club is playing in?
Apart from a few players i cant see much difference in tactics or style of play than last season, not getting away with the silly mistakes/individual errors we made last season at this level.
We weren’t in this Division a few months ago. Thinking a player can and them being able to are totally different things.
I have no idea what his training methods are but clearly some players don’t show enough of what he wants hence why they don’t get picked.

Champions of a division lower than this one. Maybe the management don’t believe the players leaving are capable of stepping up?
Lets judge us in a few weeks shall we? We weren’t exactly ripping said lower division up this time last season were we?!
I would rather have a run in the FA Cup than the League Cup TBH and that isn’t just because we have won the thing, it is the biggest cup competition in the World.
I loved the League Cup run in 2006 and wouldn’t swap that for 2013 even if we had lost the final by the same score.
Training wear isn’t classed as replica I don’t believe.
Sunderland will be fine this season. Burnley Norwich and Hull/Bournemouth for me.
We sent them down last season!
You’re doomed then ;) Christ knows why I put Norwich.
I’ll try again. Burnley, Palace and Hull/Bournemouth.
Wigan and Salford for me.We can’t play Salford in the Grand Final.
We don’t know how good Buxton is yet. Why didn’t Derby extend his contract?Exactly the point. Everyone is slating Burn but is he any better than Buxton?
