Granted Kone did well and it was in the Prem as well but some of our signings have been disregarded within weeks of arrival. Are we assuming that everyone of them became a bad player overnight ? i don’t think so .If we don’t give Grigg a partner soon then he will follow the same route.Won’t take long before his finishing instinct wanes and supporters label him as a bad signing.
Why does he need a partner when he played as a lone striker at MK Dons?
Yet as dull as it was he managed to keep us in the Premier League for five seasons whilst reducing the wage bill as instructed to make the club self sufficient almost, win the FA Cup and beat the likes of Utd, Arsenal (twice), Chelsea, Liverpool (twice) and of course City.
Yes I was bored too.
Of course we lost more than we won, we were Wigan Athletic in the Premier League.
They should go back to offsides offside.
Simple.
I saw a table on facebook (sure it was on here too) that showed we took over 2000. That says 2000 on the dot.
I suggest checking the programme tomorrow which will tell you exactly.
We are a strikers graveyard……keep this 1 up policy and Grigg will follow the rest of our recent strikers down the goal drought path. His body language in the 2nd half was one of being p****d off .
Doubt it.
Grigg scored 20 as a lone striker for MK Dons and has said that’s how he prefers to play:
Don’t let facts get in the way of slagging the team off.
Leave a man up when defending a corner, someone quick. That has been happening since Martinez took over. Four Managers later and it is still happening. The curse of the backroom staff perhaps?
Any news on a new edition coming out for this season Jayt ?It’s being written as we speak
I wonder if Coventry fans feel the same way about loan players that you do Donny.
Bury away in Jewell’s first season. Wasn’t worried then, not worried now.
Is it true millbrawl are only opening the lower tier has they are expecting a low crowd?Probably. I’ll be surprised if there’s 6k on.
Sometime in September.
The 1000 free coach places are sold out
I must admit that we were far from just a tippy tappy possesion type team last night. It was far from a slow build up type game at all. At times we moved forward really wellWhich was one of the positives I mentioned.
The problem then I thought was we declined to shoot or create the chance and decided to take that extra 1 or 2 passes and then we end up trying to score a Worldie from the edge of the box. Grigg looked the best bet to take a shot and really impressed me TBH.
I think Odelusi could be a good signing as well if we play the ball to his feet and let him run at defenders like Jacobs was. We seemed to be pumping long high balls to him from the back which he is never going to win.
Kirkland has gone to PNE
how times change here i was thinking it was goals that was the key oh well we live and learn
onwards and downwardsThe article pretty much tells you that
Well, apparently not according to the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33757354
Myth: Possession equals success
……….In fact, if you looked at all 380 top-flight games last season, the team that had more possession won 155, drew 93 and lost 132. Divide that by 10 to get a 38-game season and Possession FC would have won 57 points – leaving them eighth in the table………Egg, Nice post. The only flaw is with the extrapoloated stats. You’ve just taken the flat average of a team who has more possession. You could obviously take the opposite view that shows the team with least possession only getting 49 points by comparison. So what. All we’ve doen there is show that on average, teams who have more possession will get more points than those who don’t.
As you rightly say, some teams will sometimes win games with only 20% possession. The key thing though is that they probably won’t do that all of the time.[/quote]
I’ve not done anything aside from copy and paste from the BBC.
