He’d never make it to Bournemouth. He’d get tired around Birmingham and then need a rest at Oxford.
let’s not forget that I and many others have the bragging rights on this post at the moWhat bragging rights are they?
As for his Champions League comments (which he could do by winning the Europa League) what did you expect him to say? “I’m coming here to finish mid-table like we do most seasons and every now and again challenge for 7th”
Negatives – we were far from brilliant and a better side would have hurt us.
Positives – we fought and died for every ball and never gave in from start to finish. Redfearn is right in that had they equalised they’d probably have won, but our defence took some beating today. There were 2 and 3 yellow shirts diving at every ball that came into the box.
A much needed win, but finally a performance i could be proud of.
The Debenhams thing was in response to your Next comment after you had posted two statements that were pretty much crap TBH.
Are we really going over this again?
:woohoo: :( :P ;)
  :silly:    :side: :S
:pinch:
All of them I reckon
Least we finally agree on something
…… They can sack a player for whatever they see fit…..
They can only be sacked if they’ve broken the terms of their contract.[/quote]
One of which I’m sure is that they follow club guidelines at all times. Said guidelines are set down by the club and can be changed by the club to fit the agenda of the club.
IF there are some players who are causing trouble within the camp then the club can and will get rid of them.
Yes they would probably do it by mutual consent which is exactly the same thing only the player gets a pay off. It’s the footballing version of being made redundant. Sacking a player without pay would take some balls but is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.
Well it won’t be Figueroa replacing him as he’s off back to Hull
So to conclude Malky can’t sack players and neither can Whelan unless there’s a gross misconduct or other misdemeanour.Yes they can. They can sack a player for whatever they see fit. If Malky believes a player is being a bad influence for example then he can speak with Whelan and they can agree to send him packing for the good of the club. It’s happened before at clubs and could quite easily happen here.
Bringing the club into disrepute or breaking club rules can be turned to whichever way the club sees fit and can be used for something as simple as a tweet in this day and age.
If a chairman backs his manager then he will do whatever it takes.
Personally, I don’t think we will sack anyone player or manager, but it can most certainly happen.
How can the chairman sack a player under contract just because the manager says he doesn’t want him?Current circumstances being that there are no reasons to sack a player, you know like we did with Marlon King and even then I think we terminated his contract.
Bit of a daft reply tbh Egg, not sure what the Debenhams thing is about
It’s pretty easy to sack someone or force them out the club especially if the player power thing is correct. DW doesn’t want relegation and has changed the Manager. His next step is to change the players. Have you ever heard of mutual consent?
If a Chairman is backing his Manager then he will get rid of whichever players the Manager doesn’t want by any means he can, and it seems that DW is backing MM so if he says he doesn’t want certain players then they’ll either be off on loan, thrown into the youth side or they’ll find a way to get rid.
The Debenhams thing was in response to your Next comment after you had posted two statements that were pretty much crap TBH.
No, Malky can’t sack players. Not directly, but if he tells the Chairman he doesn’t want a particular player at the club then the Chairman can.
DW could terminate their contracts but that would be impossible under any current circumstance. What circumstances would they be? The ones that none of us know about?
Debenhams.
Egg, how can you say that the French Ligue 1 is no good, when you’ve got PSG, Marseille, Lyon etc there’s competition all of the way through the league and into the 2nd division, with some decent teams. My point is it all sounds like football snobbery, I don’t know much about it to slag it off but neither do you and you are.I base it on the fact that they tend to struggle in European competition. PSG look the best of the bunch in the Champs League but with the money they’ve spent should be.
The lad is a sniffer, a rat, he’ll score, given opportunities.
To write him off is totally foolish.I’ve seen him have several and miss them all.
Please feel free to educate me on the French second division though as you’re right I don’t know much about it, but considering Ligue 1 isn’t very good I’m not expecting Ligue 2 to be the equivalent of the Bundesliga.
He would probably read the first two posts of the thread in World record time and then not bother reading any more until it was time to go to bed.
He couldn’t make the bench on Saturday, even in the desperate state we’re in. That speaks volumes with regard to what the manager thinks of his potential. I know the lad can do no more than score goals against Morecambe and Tranmere’s fourth teams, or whatever they are, but he’s not even an option for the first team, IMHO.Fully agree. He was signed from the French second division and the development squad looks about right for him.
The only strikers on our books at the minute that I’d give the time of day to are Riera and Waghorn when he’s fit.
Yes, I am still going through the learning curve….. but I think I am getting to grips now.I never learn
