not long now maureen, tick tock
Haha, oh the bitterness! :)
From Maureen or SDW?
My Latics flag will be flying from one of my house windows at some point this week.
The front of the Grand Arcade is decked out in Wembley stuff
How much is this going to cost us???? Security will have to be HUGE!!!
I would imagine every ST holder will get one. I was given a number on Saturday but it differs slightly to that that Jay has given but lets just say the number of fans I’ve been telling you all we have for years is about right.
At least the QPR fans took the responsibility off our fans by doing the booing for us !
One of our esteemed group texted me during the game to say Gomez must have thought he was playing at home with all the abuse he was getting.
One of his less productive games yesterday, but he was by no means on his own in that regard.
I think in the 20 minutes of the game I saw he was hit with 2 or 3 absolutely shocking tackles and that doesn’t include the Zamora one.
Probably not and nor will it be dubbed the worst tackle in football history.
The situation around the Callum tackle has been a joke. Yes it was a poor challenge that should have been punished, but right from the off with the comments of Pardew that the player was too traumatised to go to hospital all the way to Haidara thanking the toon for their support through his injury hell has been an absolute farce. It was a mis timed challenge that COULD have caused serious injury but didn’t. The way the media are going on he’ll never walk again and Callum should be done for GBH, ABH and attempted murder.
I mean FFS, some people are comparing it to the Keane tackle on Haaland and some are even saying it was worse.
But it could go right to the last game of the season.I really really REALLY hope we’re safe before that.
Gomez,Di Santo and McManaman are competing for one place upfront really.
That’s right. The Everton game was a cup tie, and Martinez was happy to give a starting place to Gomez and McManaman. The team gave a terrific performance and Martinez decided to keep that starting line-up.
Perhaps he wanted to increase the strength of the first team squad. Or work on a new formation. Or show his confidence in Gomez and McManaman. Or give McArthur and Di Santo a rest. Or something completely different.
On the field, the starting line-up hasn’t been a great success. The pattern of the games has been consistent – McManaman has been withdrawn halfway through the second half, and vital goals have followed. We have been very lucky to emerge with seven points from three games.
Although no great damage has been done in the league, it has left us in a tricky situation just before the semi final. I hope McArthur and Di Santo return against Millwall, and that the team produces a more convincing performance.
The line-up against City will depend upon how well they all play at Wembley.
Kone HAS to play through the middle though imo
They won the World Cup, you knowWhich is exactly why they shouldn’t be relegated
Come on Fil, get with it. He sits in block E4 !!Block E4. Is that the night club in Eastenders?
Not seen too much of the game but I saw the McArthur chance and then their goal from what was apparently their only shot on target.
I’d have taken a point before the game and TBH I still think we’ll survive.
& hopefully a new chapter written in the history of wigan athletic.A positive one of course.
At least this won’t go on furlong
That’s fine, let’s draw a line under it and move on.Never forget.
:)
What about the team for Sunday; any clues there? I would play the strongest side at QPR and Wembley…then rest a few at Cittey.Whilst I’d agree with that, we have to be careful at City that we don’t f*ck our goal difference up.
We played the same team last season in that run in so I would do exactly the same this season with the only changes being rotating McManaman and Gomez. We have to keep the spine of the team the same imo.
Stoke deffo involved now and on a dreadful run however I think QPR may well be flattened by that result today so the impetus is surely with us.
Stoke are a surprise but they have lived on a sticky wicket with their dreadful non football and they don’t seem to have the character to get out of this hole.I think Stoke could be in big trouble.
