Norwich and QPR are huge games for us. If we can get wins there then I think we’ll be ok.

Obviously the recinding of a red card doesn’t affect the match in which the card was shown but can affect the fortunes of the team that were hard done too as they don’t suffer a suspension.

Personally, I like the way it works in Rugby League. Each and every match is reviewed from start to finish and if the referee missed something then the powers that be are able to bring the player to task and charge him. There’s nowhere to hide. Rio would have been done for kicking Torres, Rooney would have been done for elbowing McCarthy and Muamba would have been done for trying to break McCarthy in two.

Officials make mistakes but if we have the technology there to see the incidents clearly then we should use it imo.

It is a free country, but the tickets should go to people that ‘support’ Wigan and don’t just want to turn up due to the fact it is a big game. Tickets should go to those who deserve them most.

          Correct.

If you go to the away games then unless you pay on the door then you should be on the database

If you aren’t on the database you haven’t been to a Wigan Athletic game in 15 years. Why should you be allowed a semi final ticket?

              Can’t stand the guy.

If I was on the Wigan bench I’d have run the length of the touchline pumping my fist in his face like he did after the Brian Deane goal. Then, I’d have hid every fucking matchball ala Reading in the playoffs.

It’s a foul and a red. At the other end we’d have wanted the same.

Callum probably was going for the ball but he got the man instead and should pay the price for that.

I do feel as though we deserve to get away with the odd decision or two though when you consider some of the shite we’ve put up with. The Rooney elbow, Muamba on McCarthy, Welbeck on Di Santo to name 3. Having spent 5 hours on a coach and spent 30 quid to see a ref ruin the game at St James’ earlier in the year as well I think anything that we got away with on Sunday was owed to us.

In the Semi-Final and Final Ties a toss of a coin shall determine the choice of colours if a clash occurs. The toss of coin shall be made by a representative of The Association and shall be witnessed by the representatives of the Semi-Finalists and Finalists with the toss taking place at The Associations’ offices or another suitable location as soon as possible after the Sixth Round Proper or Semi-Final.

Interesting that a noted club official was at Wembley, yesterday.
I’m also pretty sure we were singing songs such as “que sera sera” “Is there a fire drill” “they’re every fucking where empty seats” and “I’m a believer” for most of the final 10 on Saturday.

Not sure where the guy who says “we always wish them well” has been hiding. Quite a large section of the crowd were singing “going down” and “tangerines tangerines tangerines” when Blackpool were 2-1 up at Old Trafford.

I’ve gotta feeling all the different permutations have already worked out and we’ll know today.

                          Probably

I can only think of 2 reasons to go to Sheffield.

Jessica Ennis’ left arse cheek and Jessica Ennis’ right arse cheek

Personally I wouldn’t mind us playing in red for obvious reasons but I think we’ll play in blue.

Saying that, stroke of marketing genius to opt to play in red and shift a load of shirts with FA CUP SEMI FINAL embroidered on.

So are we just waiting on a KO time for the Sat now Chelsea play in the EUFA cup on the Thursday before ?

I would expect so, unless they wait until the Chelsea v Man Utd replay.

IF we win the cup we will go straight into the group stage.

IF we are runners up (the more likely) we will enter at the playoff stage.

Do we or go straight into the group stage if the winners have already qualified for the Champions League ? otherwise it will unbalance the preset numbers for cup winners entering the competition.
All it says is that the cup winners will go into the group stage and if the cup runners up qualify then they’ll go into the playoff with the highest qualifying league place going into the group stage.

Basically, qualification for the Europa League seems to work as:

1st priority FA Cup winners – Group stage
                                  2nd priority 5th place – playoff
3rd League Cup winners – 3rd qualifying round

In the event the FA Cup winners are qualified for the UEFA Champions League the FA Cup runners-up will qualify, but in the place reserved for the lowest ranking Barclays Premier League representative. The place with direct access to the Group Stage will be given to the club that finishes in the highest position in the Barclays Premier League of the clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.

Saying that, if you read that then we would probably swap with Swansea and enter at the 3rd qualifying round.
