Quite right, Sodit. I like rugby league. But I hate their fans. The only thing that winds me up more than a rugby fan is a daft Latics fan who can’t stop going on about them.
We’re not all bad
I’m hoping Espinoza gets a run out at Bournemouth tomorrow.
62 at Arsenal yesterday. Even the linesman commented on it at the end to Lescott. He was complaining about something and the linesman told him “your fans have paid 62 pound over tere go and see them instead”.
FFS mate get a hobby. WTF does the number of ST holders Wigan Athletic have got to do with the price of fish? It will be less than 99% of the Premier League. So what? Our average is only around 17-19k. So what? We’ve been in this league for 8 years now meaning that at least 21 teams have finished lower than us (its more like 32 i think) despite all having more fans than us and more history etc etc etc etc.
Nobody on here gives a flying fuck, a shiny shite or anything else. We’ve made a profit this year and should we survive this season will be in a better financial position than most PL sides regardless of how many fucking fans, season ticket holders or pissing home grown players we have.
I have never seen you admit we had more support, so how am I wrong? But anyway, that wasn’t the point we were trying to iron out, I threw that in as an observation.
So as you haven’t challenged the rest of my post I assume you conceded that I am right about both team’s fans don’t really turn out for the early rounds of the Cup (but at least our fans had the added excuse that we field reserve sides), thanks.
How about your one and only major semi-final? Remind me and the rest of the goons on here who applaud your every word what the crowd was for that game….[/quote]
12181. That came in a season that cost me personally over 3k and im sure it cost others similar. We took 3k away that season on a regular basis.
Can’t really comment either when you consider we failed to sell our allocation for cup semi finals in 2007 2009 and 2012.
Ha ha
Typical bad luck as usual. Shot hits post and goes in opposite corner. At the other end it wouldn’t have done that.
12 days in. (17 really as I haven’t had a beer since Boxing Day) I need a beer
My holiday usually ties in with Wigan playing Catalans away and I head to Southern France for a week.
This year though I’m taking the Mrs to New York in November for her birthday. 4 nights from Weds-Sun with the Thursday being thanksgiving so we get to see the parade. Probably head to places like Ground Zero, Empire State, Madison Square Garden, Statue of Liberty and the fake Central Park (;-)). Really looking forward to it.
Ps – if anyone has been and knows any interesting places to go then pm me please?
Three points at Fulham! But if we only had a few more points, we could have gone for both.
There’s a very demanding run coming up –
Saturday Fulham
Tuesday Bournemouth
Saturday Sunderland
Tuesday Stoke
Saturday SouthamptonA return trip to Bournemouth with the possibility of extra time and penalties is too great a risk for the first team.
Throw in Macclesfield if we beat Bournemouth.
After all these years you have now at least admitted that you know there are more supporters of Wigan Athletic than Wigan Warriors, realisation has at last kicked in. Even the most ardent fan was clinging on to the hope that we had the same…….No matter how you spin it, we played a reserve/development squad against Bournemouth and it was no secret. I’ll watch a team in a Wigan shirt against anybody, but I am not going to make excuses regarding those that didn’t go, it is their choice and they obviously want to see the first team play (or maybe it isn’t obvious!!!).
I don’t pretend to understand your play off system, but in my eyes if you are three matches away from winning a final, you are in the quarter finals (whose making excuses here?). Is a better comparison the 4,198 you had on against the North Wales Crusaders in the Challenge Cup – your equivalent Cup….. If we make it to the fifth round with a home draw, lets see if we can then make a comparison to the Catalan game or the 12,000 you had against Leeds in the semis of the CCC.
Totally hypothetical argument regarding the quarter final crowd, but if you are suggesting that the visitors brought nobody it shows what a state the RL sport is in if true.
Deep breaths LOTP, deep breaths
Catalans did bring nobody. Not a single person.
I have it on good authority btw that the average away following for the rugby is 950. Having worked it out to shut someone up on the rugby board, the average away following for our first 18 games last year was 3500. Those two numbers should let you work out the respective home averages. Latics win by about 600 i think iirc.
3 points
It’s about 3 years since my last pay rise.
Someone who can hit the back of the net more often than our current front two.
If we took our chances then the odd defensive howler wouldn’t matter. Our problem is we waste chance after chance and then lose concentration to gift the opposition a goal (see the games against QPR and Arsenal)
Is DW from Bradford?
