When I saw the starting XI I thought we had a slight chance, but fully expected us to go out when I saw the bench.
Lopez played well and looks comfortable on the ball.
McArthur, De Ridder (bar the opening 10 mins or so) and McManaman were superb. An all round good performance tbh and some good experience for the young lads.He had a good game and took his goal VERY well, could see it was in from the second it left his foot from where I was sat.
Thought the man of the match though was James McArthur. The guy was everywhere. Played some cracking balls through to De Ridder (who also played well), McManaman and the useless one. Fully deserved standing ovation when he went off.
for the Latics; before all this substitutes nonsense ?Carl Bradshaw or John Butler ???
Was it at Reading when Bradshaw went in goal? Had a great game IIRC
We’ll sh*t em
2005/2006 – Sunderland, Man City, Aston Villa
2006/2007 – Man City, West Ham
2007/2008 – Derby
2008/2009 – Hull City, Portsmouth
2009/2010 – Burnley
2010/2011 – WolvesLiddell didn’t miss for us
Scored an absolute peach against Luton in the cup (3.45)
Figgy when he first join us he was pretty good and it showed last season at Stoke…Why because he scored a freak goal? How about 2 minutes later when the man he was supposed to be marking scored a free header to equalise?
If the Cockney Latic is still around in 2100, one thing is for certain, I won’t be running it :oHere’s me thinking you were in it for the long haul
I thought nZogbia couldn’t speak English that well (the driving test debacle)… :shock:I don’t think he can READ English but can speak it. (he has been here for about 6 years so should be able too)
Of the 8 PL games suspended this weekend, the beeb feel that we’re the only side worthy of having a photograph on our article. What is that photograph? That’s right – an empty stand.

On a different subject (well, not really) wonder what comments will be made about the size of Bolton support today? I’m going for them being hailed as heroes travelling through the conditions to see their side rather than the jibes we usually get.
Put the family stand into one side of the East like when we first moved in (lets face it they’d fit)
Cut off the bottom half of the South and create a terrace similar to the Carnegie stand at Leeds.

That stand looks awful……
Might be due to the quality of the pic. It actually looks pretty good in the flesh.
I never rated the duke and i reckon Roberts carried him a lot, he chased the £ and a BIG CLUB  and now he is reaping what he has sown.
Never rated him?
Did you watch the same team as me?
He was outstanding when he was with us, by far the best centre forward we have ever had.
Whether he would have made it in the PL with us we will unfortunately never know.
Carried by JR, you’re having a laugh there Landgate.
JR certainly complimented him well, but he never carried him.[/quote]Ellington had scored a good 20/25 goals prior to Roberts.

Ellington said he loved his time here and would love to come back one day but he felt he had to leave on a “matter of principle” but didnt expand on that. There was a lot of contract talk once we’d gone up with players wanting big bucks as standard and DW wanting it to be in performance related bonuses.
