It was the fact that they gave the result as a 1-0 Brentford win as opposed to the usual 3-0.

Let’s say that at the end of the season we are in a relegation scrap and are set to survive by 2 goals on GD with our last match being against a side at the top who realistically will put 4 or 5 past us and send us down.

What stops us finding some reason not to play the game, losing 1-0 by default and staying up?

I see the new screen is up. Why do the lodgers get first use?

Coz that’s how their fans normally watch the joke sport
And yet still more of us attend games than Saints or Latics fans
what have saints got to do with it they unlike wurriors have their own stadium
So his Rugby club have their own stadium like Warrington, Salford, Widnes, etc etc. Wigan eggs haven’t and haven’t since they sold Central Shittery to Tesco.
Why do the biggest Rugby club in the country not have their own stadium? Parasites!
Salford dont have their own ground. It is owned by Sale Sharks in the main which is why the view from Barton Bridge is all “the home of Sale Sharks” and you wouldn’t know Salford play there.

Widnes dont have a training ground let alone a ground. Theirs is owned by the council and used by multiple football clubs.

Wigan rugby own a training ground, an academy, an office building and rent one of the best stadiums in the sport for an absolute pittance.

            We are doing fine thanks.

I said it at the time and I’ll stick to it….

We signed Cole (who seemed a great signing at the time) so that Shrewsbury couldn’t.

As womens football has now been placed on an equal footing with the mens (by the media anyway), does it now stand to reason that Steph Houghton will be starring alongside Pearce, Waddle & Southgate in the next pizza advert wearing a bag over her head, and Millie Bright will receive the same reception around the grounds that Beckham and Rooney received after their sendings off in WC matches we lost?

I think we both know the answer to that, but I’m not sure on what your point is

There is nothing to say that Lang won’t get some form of chance this season but what has he done to suggest that he is ready to play a serious role in a Championship side? He may well be ready for the odd cameo here and there to improve on his experience but you want to just throw him in and say “off you go son” based on what exactly?

Unfortunately we are not in a position where we can risk a season of playing the kids no matter what happens because financially we are already up against it in this division and if we were to be relegated wouldn’t be guaranteed the same successes as previously because the PL money has gone.

IEC will NOT be splashing the cash around like Man City do. For a start off we have to adhere to FFP rules and seeing as we make next to nothing we would struggle to be able to just buy, buy, buy. The first thing we need to do is find ways to increase revenue and that comes from A- surviving at this level for a few years, B- using our assets, IE the stadium, to better effect and C- investing in youth to try and become a Crewe style club that nurture players and sell for big bucks. It is all going to be a lengthy process with some highs and plenty lows, but people need to realise that (thankfully) these guys won’t be deliberately bankrupting the club.

A flat tenner wouldn’t be so bad per game or even a fiver just to bump numbers a few new faces especially for a non competitive game but £15 ?.

Nothing bar greed in my eyes and considering we’ve 3 of our first 4 games are at home just a few weeks later.
And no before it’s said, not everyone’s a season ticket holder or can make both games

Do you do anything other than moan?

Everton will probably bring 4k (not counting those in our end) and Burnley 2k so that’s a tidy sum for the club before we have even started.

If you don’t wanna go – don’t go.

Who have we lost or are going to lose that’s an issue though?

Walton – most people slagged him all season and wanted Jones in goal. Could still come back.

                            James – never replace him.

Robinson – might be coming back.

Powell – sadly we just can’t compete with sides financially. Most people slag him off for being injured.

McManaman – despite people thinking he is the scouse George Best we won’t miss him.

MacDonald – I liked him but he hasn’t played for 2 years.

Vaughan – Left in January anyway.

Walker – I couldn’t tell you what he looks like.

                            Who else?

And what do they have to do with his age considering Will Grigg has injury issues and he is 27?

Well if you want to compare between Hutton and Powell, one has played at the top level for years and has 50 International caps and one hasn’t.

I’m sorry to see Powell go as on his day he was our best player by a mile (not including Reece) for the last few seasons, and I would also be glad to sign Hutton albeit for 12 months because his experience will be invaluable.

You seem to have an issue signing anyone over 30 but you need a mix of youth and experience in any squad and what someone like Hutton offers the field is huge. The same with Fox, and the plus point with Fox is that he is superb on the field too. I just hope the long break has sorted all his injury issues.
