I think they should take a pay cut and help their clubs survive the crisis.
Burnley are just one example but there are many others and it premier clubs are struggling then it is anybody’s wild guess how the clubs in the EFL are fairing !!
The players could easily do it given that many of them will have property portfolios etc and I know ( through somebody else) of a very very mediocre current premier league player with 50 plus houses so income won’t be an issue will it ?
Has to be done in my opinion especially given the gilded lifestyles these people appear to lead.Big club and more expectation at Sunderland and a bigger squad so more competion for his place.
Good business for us and looked a good move at the time however it hasn’t worked out sadly.
A huge favourite here though always scored important goals which is a good measure of a valuable striker.
He will surface successfully again I’m sure .Big club and more expectation at Sunderland and a bigger squad so more competion for his place.

He will surface successfully again I’m sure if it .After losing the debate in last ten minutes did he then mention how “unforgiving “ being live on telly is ?
Yes I agree they could finally dispense with the play offs , surely the most unfair way of settling league promotions.
Was only brought in to restructure the leagues in the mid eighties and kept despite the unfairness of it to most observers initially.
Rubbishes then concept of being the best by way of league position over 40 plus matches and would be a good place to sack it.
That way the best teams get promoted and fairness all round.Finish the current season and shorten the next one by scrapping the unneeded extended pre season and shelve the now very uninteresting EFL cup.
Have a ban of all international breaks next season and scrap next winters PL break also.
It is only fair and in proper and true spirit that the season is played out to a conclusion whenever that is able to take place regardless of what certain self serving club representatives may say.
If everybody stays indoors as requested by the government and health officials then maybe the season could recommence in June and be played to a conclusion by mid July once this awful time is over.
Then just start the new season in late august and play twice a week to clear congestion which scrapping those (mickey mouse) cups would do.
wishful thinking on the first day of this horrible lockdown but fook me, we all need something to look forward to at the moment even if all of the above seems very unlikely.Returned tonight with real fear we won’t seen a bag of wind kicked for maybe 12 months.
Social isolation could last that long , grim times and future ion the game and sport we know in very serious doubt.
Beyond the pale and very grim times3 weeks ???
According to the BBC just now we are looking at months before any normality returns !!!
My last post until it does , far more pressing things than 22 men kicking a bag of wind about.
stay safe and well fellow postersThis is forecast to go on for 3 months at the very least so make the call now and relegate and promote based on current league positions ( tongue firmly in cheek).
Backlog will be horrendous if it goes on beyond April on a more serious note, not much chance of fulfilling remaining fixtures.most clubs in the lower divisions run at a loss by all accounts so hardly surprising figures.
The clubs do have some assets and a blossoming youth set up that will save the club a lot of money and possibly stem significant losses going forward.
I thinkchances of a premier league return for a club our size are very slim in my opinion and i was surprised at reports that the new owners felt this would happen quickly given the financial unlevel playing field in the championship these days.
I also feel a major push to get lapsed and even new supporters through the turnstiles is needed with maybe special promotion days etc.
9000 home gates are not good enough for this level of football and the previous owner excelled in putting new bums on seats particularly in his early years at the club.
Youth is the future of Wigan Athletic end ofAgree with Jedi one ,he is a forward player in my opinion and a great asset in that department.
The two lads balogun and kipre are a great partnership and this has given Byrne more confidence to get forward and support.
Letting teams come at us has also helped hit teams on the break which wasn’t a tactic employed much before this current good run.
We tended to attack for a bit early hence the many early goals home and away and then sit very deep allowing them to come on to us without any tactic to break like now.Prefer young home grown players and league one prodigies to so called primadonna players , a market the club was very much in between 2013-15.
Hungry and motivated players on the way up are far better than players on the way down.
No surprise then that One of our most expensive players of recent times had departed the ranks and very few tears were shed when he left .The youth set up is burgeoning at the moment and if the team an avoid relegation this season I think the club can really push on and establish a foothold in the division .
Four points better off this season at match day 36 than at the same stage last season
Can that be classed as improvement?[/quote]
Around 10% approximately , however may need more points to stay up this year , I reckon 50 is the magic number .
Could have it all sorted by end of MarchLuton town at home prediction 11356

Still a lot of work to do though and they will have to keep there feet on the ground..
A similar month in March and the worries of relegation will be all but over. -
