3 weeks ???
According to the BBC just now we are looking at months before any normality returns !!!
My last post until it does , far more pressing things than 22 men kicking a bag of wind about.
stay safe and well fellow postersThis is forecast to go on for 3 months at the very least so make the call now and relegate and promote based on current league positions ( tongue firmly in cheek).
Backlog will be horrendous if it goes on beyond April on a more serious note, not much chance of fulfilling remaining fixtures.most clubs in the lower divisions run at a loss by all accounts so hardly surprising figures.
The clubs do have some assets and a blossoming youth set up that will save the club a lot of money and possibly stem significant losses going forward.
I thinkchances of a premier league return for a club our size are very slim in my opinion and i was surprised at reports that the new owners felt this would happen quickly given the financial unlevel playing field in the championship these days.
I also feel a major push to get lapsed and even new supporters through the turnstiles is needed with maybe special promotion days etc.
9000 home gates are not good enough for this level of football and the previous owner excelled in putting new bums on seats particularly in his early years at the club.
Youth is the future of Wigan Athletic end ofAgree with Jedi one ,he is a forward player in my opinion and a great asset in that department.
The two lads balogun and kipre are a great partnership and this has given Byrne more confidence to get forward and support.
Letting teams come at us has also helped hit teams on the break which wasn’t a tactic employed much before this current good run.
We tended to attack for a bit early hence the many early goals home and away and then sit very deep allowing them to come on to us without any tactic to break like now.Prefer young home grown players and league one prodigies to so called primadonna players , a market the club was very much in between 2013-15.
Hungry and motivated players on the way up are far better than players on the way down.
No surprise then that One of our most expensive players of recent times had departed the ranks and very few tears were shed when he left .The youth set up is burgeoning at the moment and if the team an avoid relegation this season I think the club can really push on and establish a foothold in the division .
Four points better off this season at match day 36 than at the same stage last season
Can that be classed as improvement?[/quote]
Around 10% approximately , however may need more points to stay up this year , I reckon 50 is the magic number .
Could have it all sorted by end of MarchLuton town at home prediction 11356

Still a lot of work to do though and they will have to keep there feet on the ground..
A similar month in March and the worries of relegation will be all but over.Yes plenty of scousers but then we picked up
Plenty back in the eighties when we last had a great productive set up.
A great performance from the young lads and a fantastic turn out ( couldn’t attend due to work sadly but watched the stream )
Given the performance Several of them should be tried out in the first team very soon and are more than good enough.
McGurk and Robinson are two that should be at least warming that bench , maybe one or two more given the fragility of our squad with potential injuries etc.
A great future ahead and despite some of the gloom spouted about the ownersetc , this is the stand out success at our great club and should be applauded .
A brilliant future ahead looking at this lot and hopefully we will make a good few million if any are lured away.Only one ‘ chunk’ , one of ES2 s finest
Great performance all round and even Lady Luck has changed Now with the ball very much running for us also.
Superb goals every one of them and a long overdue clinical away win , not seen since Stoke away in August 2018.
Chey Injury overrides everything though tonightLooks like a lot more teams are being dragged into now, Boro and Huddersfield are both out of form and wouldn’t bet against some others getting involved also.
Balogun was great yesterday and should keep shirt for me and as for the new striker Owen ,
Two goals in three ain’t badNo moaning here , this very important month is turning into the best run of the season.
Have to try and get a win at Reading and hope we don’t get stuffed next Saturday.
A win and draw would be brilliant stuff , glass is half full at Vincehill towers !I can’t think of a better all round home display this season.
Just a thought though , Moore seems to be much better at defending than he does at attacking. -
