POSITIVE HEAD BACK ON
Chucking money at the situation has got us in this mess so bargain bucket hungry ,motivated and ambitious players will do for me all day long and given the appalling performances this season of some of our fading premier league ‘stars’ welcome to say the least.
we have absolutely nothing to lose now and maybe just maybe that will work in our favour if he brings in the right players who want to kick start their careers and fight what may be a lost cause but maybe it isn’t.
I have never felt so down as I have the last few days but the statement from Jackson last night in the paper was very honest and straight and some of us need to put the teddy back in the pram and cheer up and get behind the lads.
had to laugh at west brums website today and the excitement at signing Callum MC which shows how insular a league the premier league is.The fact is they think they have signed a ‘ nugget’ when we all know they most certainly haven’t .
In fact I haven’t got any strong feelings about any of the departures to be honest at least the club is being realistic and honest about this situation.‘ dirty old town ‘ by ewen mccoll sums up the mood at the moment and might stop those Hypocritical ‘Wigans a sh/t hole – I want to go home’chants that I heard from Blackburn supporters the other week.
too late for that and to be honest its too late to save ourselves now ,it’s league one for us and I’m sorry I cannot see anything else. The team is not got enough to survive in this division it’s as simple as that.
Let him clear it all out ,no point making anymore SH/t signings and get some of the youngsters thrown in NOW in readiness for steadying this very very rocky ship next season.
Sorry to be so negative but is anyone feeling any different at the moment?Sad to lose him. Will be valued at four times that straight away. Robbery. No offence but your saying a player who has struggled to perform to any consistency in the CHAMPIONSHIP will suddenly be worth nearly 20 million quid after this move???????
Change the record to that song that goes ” we’re gonna get right back to where we started from”
Theme from the film slap shotneeds a lot of coaching and developing himself to try and fathom out what to do other than a swerve and a run after 10 minutes and he certainly needs to realise that games are played for 90 minutes not sixty.
Good business indeedIt’s about 4 years ago exactly that his ridiculous purple settled breakfast tv show began so maybe his contract has ended and they are not renewing it.That programme was dreadful with its features like ‘something cool before school’ and the daft background laughter,he also did another show on Sunday’s that didn’t last long.
One of the best stories since the league started in 1992 and an example to nothing tread water clubs like Aston Vile and Blunderland ( last trophy 1973 – tossers!!!) who just try to scrape to 40 points.
I hope with all my heart one of these two pay the price for this with relegation this year but fair play to Southampton and they are a fantastic example to any mid range club with a bit of ambition that it can still be done. That said how long is it before one of the stinking rich clubs comes after Kouman and his, players again but if they get in the champions league it will give them a chance to keep them.
nothing but respect for themto be fair he could have sent McLean off as the choreographed extreme pain and mock horror shown by the Rawverrrrs just before half time to try to get him sent off was a disgrace to be honest.
I thought this type of thing was restricted to the premier but at least he didn’t brandish the red as I thought he might do but the challenge was a fair one and he made contact with the ball and the lad made a meal out of it in my view.a point gained due to woeful finishing however enough on show today to think there is some fight and effort in there especially when he made the substitutions.
MOM from James McLean again,he isn’t the best player in the world but his attitude and honesty out there on the pitch gives a little bit of hope although we have a long way to go.
I thought Huws,GWist and McLean stood out however the defence is woeful at times and Blackburn must be kicking themselves as it was definitely two points dropped for them with two late clearances off the line.
5 points adrift tonight and its now critical we start picking up some points so at least this was a start but it’s going to be very very tough and I’m not sure we have enough ability to do it.League one will be very difficult to take but unless we start addressing this awful form we are on the way there regardless
A win next week is an absolute must but to be honest does anyone think we will?We will win on Saturday Squire.[/quote
Something we haven’t done at home since mid August!!!!!
Admire your optimism
I think you will find a lot of people are bothered about this situation.
For me the rot set in back in January 2013 when we failed to strengthen the side bringing in poor players who had little impact on the team at a time when we lost our main striker and were having issues defensively .a little bit of positivity at this point may well have kept us up and yes we did win a major trophy but the long term future of OUR football club is now at stake because I am very worried about the future especially when the parachute payments expire.
a drop to league 2 or even beyond that is not too improbable when the money has dried up and the decision to sack our manager a few weeks back may become the most disastrous one in our clubs recent history. We have an oversized, overpaid squad of players and many of the recent signings have been ditched with no replacements found and the striker situation is unbelievable!
I have always been an optimist and tried to look for positives however the teams form has worsened to the point where I cannot see anything other than relegation regardless of what we do in this transfer window.I cannot see the situation being reversed now.we are on a very steep downward spiral that is devastating to witness and it has been so rapid in recent weeks.
the test will be next season and how many supporters will still be around to watch league 1 football because I can see a lot drifting away at that point.
I shall still be going regardless but I fear for our future I really do.This next week is important in the window i know everyone is down but i dont think we r a million miles awayWe are not a million miles away ,we are only a few miles away from sinking back into the lower reaches of the game after all the hard work getting where we are now.
As for the transfer market well it’s always leave it till the very last minute however by then we could be many points adrift at the bottom of the table as even Blackpool have started picking points up now so I agree now is the time for action,I won’t be holding my breath!!
I agree with another poster who said we will get another article in the local paper on Friday night from one of our ‘superstars’ saying how the next game is the big one and we will start winning tomorrow.
As Apollo Creed said to Rocky
There is no Tomorrow!!!!!Most of the fools on a certain commercial talk radio station
Hate stan and Saggs or whatever his name is – Stan just shouts his opinions as does the other bloke and it all starts to irritate.
They will become the new Latics if they overstay their welcome and stay up this season ,not bad for a very deprived area of the country a cul de sac of a town if there was one.
