proof that the gap is narrowing and that the premier league isn’t the best in the world.
Well done and hope they go on to win it!Dont worry lawro says we dont start playing till the clocks go forward it upset big ears no endNeed to start playing NOW and picking up points although we are four points better off than last year.
Yeah one of there security was called Ben Nevis and had a table leg down the back of his pants incase of trouble. Never got it out in time that night and took a bit of a kicking. The lead singer came on stage singing Wanky Wigan and got hit straight in the face with a Newcastle Brown Ale bottle and had to be carried off for treatment. After it all finished there Transit minibus was turned on its side  Great night out that was  :lol:November 1987 remember the brawling but what a day that was.
As daft as it sounds, we need this type of marquee signing. Think how many shirts we would sell with a name like Beckham on the back. Those extra ticket sales. The extra publicity. The wages wouldn’t be an issue.Yes its daft and never going to happen.
Speaking to my Dad on the way home from the game on Saturday I said something similar about a striker. Why do we constantly take risk after risk on 3 or 4 million players with no PL experience when we could spend 8 on a proven scorer at this level? We’ve made a profit this year and have 60m on the way if we survive. We need to ask ourselves whether we ever want to move to the next level (which can be done without going bankrupt) or stay on a shoe string and hope we survive year after year.
I agree the skinflint permanent transitional period we have had for the past four years isn’t working and I think it will prove the undoing this season.
unless they have something up their sleeves I see more defeats and a damp squib of a finale with this lot we have in now.
Roberto has done a smashing job on a threadbare budget but we have more defeats than anyone else (surely the most we have ever had at the same stage in the EPL?) and the pledge to take us up a level hasn’t Happened although the injuries at the back have cost us dear this year.Judging by the interest in the MACC game it seems most people are sick of this league anyway and this wil probably be one battle too many .
As for Beckham in my view he’s finished as a footballer at the highest level and im sick of reading rubbish about how he’s joining this club or that -like he has a choice?Saw them at the now defunct transport club near the now defunct seven stars in mid eighties. My mates had bought me a ticket for my 21st great all day sesh with a finish at the now defunct Pemps.
Bit of a trend here isn’t there ?
;)Saw another scrawny tax office type cycling away today in the ice and snow causing a fecking nuisance.
You have a very unhealthy obsession with cyclists, Vince ;)[/quote]
Its the new breed Griff that are p/ssing me off-you know the sort we all do.Type of people who bought a Latics season ticket,Stadium coat,Kit etc when we got in the prem then deserted the following season after the first relegation scrap and have never been since.
They buy the latest i phone even though they are up to their scrawny necks in debt and hog pub bars like the Borekett droning on about price of puncture kits and dynamoes.
Next year they will be into something else that comes on telly and the bikes will rust in their sheds if they live that long!!!!!!!
 :angry:One or another whether it be through our season ticket are paying ridiculous fees to TV each month we contribute towards players wages which are ridiculous. If they try and give 100% towards the cause then I clap them off because I know that sometimes the other is better at the game than we are.
I booed against Bournemouth the other week because they were slacking and looked like they didn’t care about the result. That is totally unacceptable and I have no problem with anyone booing when we see lack of care and effort.
I saw lack of ability yesterday in the first half but no lack of effort so I clapped them off and shouted them on in the second half which I thought we shaded. The main issue yesterday was his team selection which I thought he got wrong with hindsight as Henriquez should have started instead of Gomez or Di Santo.
The finishing by Fletcher was top class and sometimes you hold your hands up although the rest of the Sunderland team (goalie and Fletcher excluded)are cr@p really.Much better today-worked his socks off in the first half.

The most worrying aspect is that bottom half teams are coming and taking the p!ss like they did in the first half today.
I have always been positive but can’t see anything but relegation this year with this lot-we have had a brilliant run and Bob has worked miracles on a skinflint transfer policy.
He has done wonders and I don’t blame him that’s for sure!Very poor first half despite the early fluke goal and we cannot keep blaming refs -we were crap for 45 minutes and that was enough to lose this game today.
We made a very very ordinary team look like world beaters and conceded bloody awful goals.Stam was the best player in the first half ( never though I’d ever say that) which shows you how bad we were. there is no cutting edge and unless some transfer business is done sharpish to turn this damn awful season around then I’m afraid relegation is a certainty. All the other clubs around us are investing and having a go and we continue with our skinflint transfer policy signing kids from UnitedS youth team and randoms from America!!!!!!.
Feel sorry for BOB having to continually make do and mend and this policy we see us off this year I’m sure.
No miracle turnaround this season with this bunch so we may has well go hell for leather in the FA cup as our swansong before relegation.Blizzard conditions, ice ,wind and still we have these OCD idiots cluttering up the roads causing fekin hazzards at every turn.Still seeing them without lights and vizwear ploughing on to work in arctic conditions risking their lives and others so they can brag about how hard they are when they get into work.
Enough is enough! :angry:Frightening bunch-although not as bad as those well behaved souls who terrorised Londons west end in 1984 before the Challenge cup final.
Should make the fifth round for the first time since 1987????
Anybody thick enough to pay £62 for a football match that was beamed out live on TV gets no sympathy from me.
would rather spend an afternoon in a prison cell than give money to this horrible money grasping joke of a football brand.Cant bring myself to refer to them as a club. -
