I think he is worth a stab but only on loan and with an option to get shut in january if he fails to do the business.
We have tried these journeymen types before though havent we ?Mido and Bent spring to mind.
feck me, how long was that season?fERKING too long bloody awful- but i still have that game on my skyplus and get goosebumps every time i see it.
Conors goal is pure class!Still worth a bit more time in my view and i can see some goals from him next season.
He deserves that because his goal against West Ham in 2010-12 turned that game and went some way to keeping the club up that season. We will miss him(Whelan) when he’s gone thats for sure!
Whelan is spot on and i hope this will make Moses see sense and realise that a move now could be disastrous for his career at this moment in time.
Its either that or he wants to conclude the business as soon as possible so the club can get his replacement in with the money received.
I cant see Moses staying but it annoys when players think they can tear up contracts at the drop of a hat then get @rsey when the move is stalled by rightful transfer fee demands.
This matter needs to be quickly settled because the club needs to get the players it needs in as soon as possible. He was my sons hero when he was growing up and i remember telling my then 12 year old that Owen (as we watched him stumble and struggle during a Sven era England game against naff opposition) was overpaid, very limited and very overated.
You cant imagine my shock as my lad got up from his chair and gave me some fearful abuse and the stormed off to his room slamming the door as hard as he could.
That was well over 10 years ago and i feel now he is only worth a pay as you play and a bonus scheme for goals return.
A grand a game with big bonuses if he scored 10 goals plus is all he is worth in my view but somehow i think his career may be coming to an end -i think he lost his hunger years ago!
I would sooner see some young lad from the lower divisions given a chance than Owen! The scuffed goal at Tottenham lives in the memory and the rising headers against Burnley and Stoke. If he has secured big wages good luck to him!
Fixture card with season ticket and offers on a variety of things if you are a season ticket holder.
Renewed the ST online and wasnt charged(surely the first time???)for using my Visa card. This saved me time rather than having to queue behind fat effers buying tickets for the ‘town’ sport and keeping my hands in the pockets (tightly)when they made their ridiculous digs at a club that beat them for size many years ago!Great scene and heart warming to think that Chester are now only two divsions from the football league. But for the grace of god eh?
Didnt Latics try to join the scottish league back in the 70s after getting peeved by constant rejection from the football league?
Whelan will know all these quotes in the media keep Latics in the news and raise the profile of the club.
Does anyone remember his announcement in the local press years ago when he allegedly said anyone from Wigan who wins Wimbledon?????( )within a finite amount of time would receive a large cash sum from him.Tired now of hearing all the inquests and gibberish from pundits and ‘fans’ (most of whom have only ever watched football on telly by the sound of them) quoting soundbites they have read in the papers and heard on the radio/tv.
I remember when Taylor failed to get the then England team to USA 1994 world cup and they started a programme for kids and instigated small sided games etc.
The same sh/t is being spouted now so no doubt little jacks and johnnies across the land with soon be playing football with 2 a side and 3 balls watched over by their bully boy fathers on the touchlines.
My view is simple they couldnt give a sh/t about England and would have far sooner have been on the beach with their airhead spouses and their spoilt snotty nosed kids than playing for their country.
Any inquest is irrelevant because i think very few proper football supporters gives a flier anymore (outside of Woking and Kettering) and the sooner the radio/TV stops talking about these losers and starts focusing on the forthcoming football season the better in my opinion!Renewed no problem the other night and no charge for using my credit card!
Latics enter the 21st century at last! goodpostSadly i heard some little fat sh/t from Blackburn mouthing all that before our 3-3 draw at home last season.Shouting at the top of his voice to his mates(cousins/brothers??) in that grating twang of theirs he was spouting off all the stereotypical bull that we read and hear in the gutter press and media.
“Wigerrrrrrrrrrrrns a rugby towwwwwwwwwwn thee dont get gates ere they neer will and theirrrr goint dowwwn tert Championship unlike us”
Myself and our little group were amazed that he hadnt been filled in at this point by our livelier elements(dont condone btw) we then shouted at him and his group that they were talking complete and utter bullsh/t and watched his drink sodden fat bloated little face turn white as he realised that little Wigerrrrrrn sometimes do get gates and we do have ears.
I hope he remembered this little scene when we relegated Rawverrrs from the league in May-i call it Karma!
Dont walk away and grit your teeth and clench your fists face these idiots out and give them the truthful facts.Whelan should up it to 15 mill if they are that keen-incredible!
Make the b’st’rds pay through the nose!£7 million will probably swing the deal and i hope he goes to Chelsea rather than QPR.He has been a decent player for us but needs to work on his goal scoring and especially his passing(hes a greedy get).
A fee like that for a Moses will be good business but he should heed the ‘curse’ of players who move on from Latics. -
