That isnt the point, The point is the manner of the way we seem to accept defeat before kick off. One look at the team and you know that defeat looms. That is not being defeatist that is just knowing how predictable we are. Joke team
He should have realised at Everton that Figgy is never a centre back. We looked better after the break when he went to left back. I would like to see Dave Jones get a run in the side at least he will bring a goal threat from midfield. On the plus side Van Ahnolt looks to be a good player. That could be a problem. Sinclair was a decent prospect but he didn’t get a sniff, I think Van Ahnolt will play a key role though as Chelsea have probably said that if we don’t play him they will take him back after the Sinclair malarkey. I just can’t comprehend why Martinez has not signed players in defence, The main position that has been screaming for reinforcements, How can he believe that Caldwell is any good. Im glad he has Van Ahnolt for left back and congratulate him on giving the football imposter Figeuroa some competition. Caldwell and Gohouri are just nowhere near either quick enough or positionally and tactically aware of what’s going on around them. Hence their poor disciplinary record, The only thing they are left with is to foul a player. The transfer policy at this club is laughable and the time it takes to get in a decent player is ridiculous. Players like Woodgate all came and went in the transfer window and not a hint of being linked. Players on free transfers that command a tiny higher wage are worth taking the chance on. The fee that would have been paid to a club would even out the wages. I really does my head in that the club think people will keep paying good money to go and watch a team made up of very sub standard players who win about 3 games at home all season. They want to keep moaning that the fans are dropping, They need to take a good look at how the club is being ran. There is no hint of ambition and most fans i know are now fed up with just avoiding relegation on purpose to ensure they survive without spending anything, Scraping through the season and pocketing the tv money every year. If they treated the fans with a bit more respect the club would be in a better position. Sorry Mr. Whelan but you wanted the fan base to grow on the 5,000 hardcore of years gone by. Well they have, The 5,000 will stick by you but times and football have changed and the remaining 10,000 won’t sit around and watch this pathetic team attempting to play football.
Rant over
This will probably annoy a few people but i don’t care any more, Those are my views and my last comment on this thread so if i am to be slated then so be it.
Rodallega is not one of our best players. He is a media creation, He is Colombia’s no.1 striker and he plays for little Wigan so he must be brilliant. Match Of The Day and all that.
I don’t want to turn it into an argument i just think they dropped a couple of balls in dealing with his situation.
Confused me that one too. He has said on numerous occasions that he would move if a bigger team came in for him. That is 19 out of the 20 in the league. Letting him go for nothing when we could have cashed in and got a striker who is actually any good is bad business. Can’t see him signing a new deal. Think it’s all just hot air by the club because Martinez and Whelan buggered it up by not cashing in. Thought that was policy.
No the Raj is not a takeaway place. It is for eating in. Trust me i love Indian food and have been to probably nearly all in the Wigan area. I have had a takeaway from there myself and it is a very half hearted attempt, However when you go in the food is the best thing in the world, The service is excellent, Beer is also excellent and ignore JamesC, It is like a palace inside. He obviously hasn’t been.
I lived next to The Raj it for 20 years. I have been. It may be decent(ish) inside but it is situated in a dump and is a dump from outside.[/quote]
You see up until 2 months ago i lived there for many years too but i thought around 20 years ago it was a petrol station, In fact i think around 10 years ago it had only just ceased to be a petrol station and still had a big canopy on the car park. Baffles me how it can be called a dump after some of the suggestions in this thread. The only gripe i could have with it, And this is scraping the barrel for me is that there isnt all that much room inside but i dont think i have been to an indian that has bags of room anyway. You always seem to be cramped in an indian gaff even when there is room. Too much food for the size of the tables.

some great points there chapsfeel much better now, we’l beat everton :)
I think we will anyway. Playing them at a good time, with the fans revolting e.t.c, Let’s just hope they protest again before kick off.
Just hope the confidence has not been knocked out of them after the weekend.(us i mean)
My thoughts just about in the same ball park as the others.
I would say, Be patient and give him next season to make his move for promotion. He and yourselves will obviously want an attempt this season but we had a very mediocre mid table finish in his first full season but gradually over the season he found out who was worth their place and the style of player he needed in other areas. It takes a while to overhaul a squad. Before the next season started after finishing half way we were red hot favourites for promotion and walked the league. He will indeed get a squad of veteran warhorses and blend them with up and coming pacey young ones, And it seems to work for him. The key phrase around this thread is one i concur with. Give him time, Even if it takes until next season. As long as he has support from the board and the fans you will see the return.
Quick look before work. Hope the ground has improved a little.

Think there is a joker in the pack. Try down the bottom end of beech hill.
You are a proper wind up merchant RODALLEGABOMB, Your sole purpose on here is to try and childishly wind up folk about Rugby but no-one cares. You appeared about a week ago and turn every post into an anti-rugby one. It’s obvious you are a multi-poster with no life to speak of, A fella from Preston used to do the same thing called PNETHOR, Go on their board and look him up, You will probably get along, You may even fancy each other.
This is what Andy Goram thinks. Makes you wonder why nothing has been done about Wright-Phillips yet. Why announce we are interested a month ago and then (seemingly) do nothing and let him generate interest.
Former Rangers and Manchester United goalkeeper Andy Goram has slammed Vladimir Weiss.
The ex-Manchester City winger took a swipe at Gers boss Ally McCoist for ignoring him after signing for Dynamo Kiev.
But Goram told the Scottish Sun: “Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. If he’d set the SPL on fire then fine.
“But Vladimir Weiss just had a trick which he did ten yards in front of the defender. The defender didn’t have to move. Then when he got the trick done ten yards away he went inside.
“He didn’t exactly set the heather on fire at Rangers.
“I’d have taken the boy Templeton from Hearts. I think he has got more to his game than Weiss.
“For Weiss to say that and he’s going to Dynamo Kiev? Good luck to him because I think he will struggle over there as well.
“He couldn’t get a game for Manchester City, that’s why they’re shipping him out. Maybe he’s not as good as he thinks he is.”
