I saw them against Runcorn that is about it, Altrincham was just a tiny bit too early for me. The lowest placed league opposition i can remember playing against off the top of my head would probably be Halifax or Scarborough. :music-deathmetal:

Martinez has been a little over confident about our chances of staying up pre West Brom and i was wondering why, The last 3 games leads me to suggest he kind of knew they were going to slug games out.
I congratulate him and the team for the effort in the last few games.

Oh no im still a darksider, ive seen too much below average things by this club in the last 2 seasons to make me think otherwise. It will take a nun with a strap-on rogering me over a carpet of Bolton and Preston jersey’s to make me even slightly re-consider my allegiance.
They were, We played them off the park for the most, they seemed to play more counter attacking, the ref could not wait to give Liverpool the decisions. I thought Suarez was a cut above any other player today. I don’t think he dove that much, Its just that Caldwell is as good a defender as Rodallega is a striker.
We could do with going out of that competition if we have any chance of staying up. Shouldn’t really say it but i hope Bolton win here and have to go to Fulham.

I thought Whelan had already written off the 50m debt, Is that another lie he has spun. He put the debt there in the first place so he should write it off as it is his. Does everyone still think he is the saviour and not a money grabbing leech. If he leaves us without debt and in no kind of problem i will be surprised, You don’t honestly think he will just write it off do you, get real, This man would charge for oxygen if it was for sale.
Let’s look at what he has done,
JJB – Fair play-built it up himself and then sold it when it got into trouble
Pooles-A thriving business known nationwide, destroyed and torn apart when Whelan got hold of it.
Orrel RU- Where did they go again, Used to be a very big RU Club.
Wigan RL – Couple of million in debt when he took over granted. How did he wipe the debt. Sold all the players then the stadium to tesco leaving them homeless and playerless.
Latics – Bought us with his pocket money then played media chess with us for 10 years, Investment in buying us to make a lot more money in the forthcoming years, never heartfully bothered about the club or the fans, just made decisions that he knew the fans would swallow and then gloat in his own success. Mercenary – Never has that word been more apt for an individual.

fattythum -Wasn’t going to rise to it but sod it i will. NO im not going anywhere. As fil says, it a forum for expressing views. In this case the plight of Wigan Athletic. I admire yours and a few others’ defence but god knows why. Our club is a joke and it’s being ran in an infantry way compared with 19 other teams in this league and probably three quarters of the championship. It’s commendable that a few keep finding the words to defend what is going on but even some of the hardened posters are starting to wilt and become disheartened. It’s a disastrous turn around that has happened in two seasons. We have somehow ended up with one top draw player after having about 6 at one point and the most inept and pig headed manager ive seen here. His reputation at the club has been destroyed, No one will remember his playing days after he has gone, he will just be remembered for being the man who took us down.
