Superb again. Can’t score. Gelhardt very good when he came on. Guess you haven’t seen game. So obvious we have no striker. Forest fans saying best team they’ve seen this season. Team playing for Manager and this run of us playing so well and losing can’t carry on forever.Roy…mate…I admire your stance, I genuinely do, I have no doubt you live and breathe in the best interests of the club, but we can’t continue indefinitely with ‘jam tomorrow’.
You’ll see now that the bottom four (of which we are last) are being cut adrift….general performance is utterly pointless without goals at one end and/or clean sheets at the other ….and we can’t manage either ….regardless of how much ‘good stuff’ we play in between.
Something fundamental has to change
‘Owd on JR….I don’t mind a bet but with Blackburn’s form…..our record at Ewood ….and our away record ‘full stop’ we should be nearer 10’s for there to be any value in that
Wonderful stuff Garswood, seems like yesterday, except I was 20 that Summer and weighed in at around 12 stones ….now I’m 61 and err I don’t

The goons attendance counters must have been out tonight. 6000 at best.
Season ticket holders are counted on the attendance even if they don’t turn up. So yes, there may only have been 6-7000 in the ground, but with 8000 season ticket holders added to the 1400 or so WBA fans, I think 9444 was about right.
Funny how that method gets slated when the rugby do it and they’re accused of making up attendances.
They’ve been making em up for years…..it’s just that we’ve now decided to join in
Oh and this Saturday…..10,318…..(hoping the Yorkshire puddings have a bit of a turnout)

Assuming around 2,000 trail up from Brum….maybe they’ll bring twice that….they’re top and I suppose they ought to ?
Bugger it ….stick with your first guess
Someone needs to sit our lads down and explain the concept of injury time.Ideally, that someone being a new manager ?
Budget wise we are in the bottom 5.https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/startseite/wettbewerb/GB2
I’ve said plenty of times on here and FB that personally I think we will need to survive by hook or by crook for 3 maybe 4 years gradually adding to the squad before we can think of taking the next step and challenging.
If I am reading that link correctly that is the market value of the club not the operating budget. …the two aren’t necessarily the same thing ….and Brentford may well be further up that table purely by dint of the fact that they sit on a plot of real estate in West London and not Newtown.
In any event the club just one place above us in that table are considerably more than one place above us in the league table.
And so it might be …£2 million is something of an advantage but it’s only as much (or less) than we paid for each of three players bought this Summer…..
£2 million is a hell of a lot to me and thee no doubt..but in football terms ..at this level?…..I’m not saying it isn’t worth having but it doesn’t really put them in ‘a different league’ does it?
There are plenty of people on social media that seem to think that Vat. Plenty of posts every week how we should be beating sides like a, b and c.I read plenty as well about him being a Liverpool fan. What has that got to do with anything?
I couldn’t care less about him being a Liverpool fan, as a born and bred scouser why wouldn’t he have a lifelong affinity for either Liverpool or Everton.
Egg….. reading and posting on this board for several years, I think we are broadly in accord on most things Latics, but Cooks petulant nonsense about supporters expecting to ‘steamroller the opposition’ ….Good God, based on the greater majority of the last 50 odd matches how on Earth could any of us dare to dream of that ??
He’s floundering badly now and his inane ramblings are symptomatic of his current performance as a manager. I’m tired of people intimating (as he now seems to be) that we are damn lucky to be rubbing shoulders with the huge clubs in this Division (many of whom we have been outperforming for much of the last 15 or 20 years.). If that’s what he truly believes then he needs to be somewhere else.
Is our budget that much smaller (or indeed any smaller) than those of Brentford or Preston, Hull City or even Charlton or Birmingham currently ?I haven’t wanted to see him out up to the last month or so but I genuinely think he’s done now…
We know how ‘big’ Leeds Utd, Nottingham Forest , Sheffield Wed and the like are , or potentially are …but slow steady, relatively inexpensive recruitment allied to shrewd management have allowed both PNE and Brentford gradual progress through this ‘Land of the Giants’ and That’s all I hope for, not steamrolling the opposition.
If he turns it round I’d genuinely be pleased for him, as well as myself and the club…… but it’s all starting to look beyond him
Big Roy….clearly there are bigger clubs than us in this league (and below it) but the idea that we are ‘League 1’ is just defeatist.
Are Brentford any bigger than us as a club?….absolutely not ….and PNE were only getting 12k on the other week as a top 3 club with all their ‘history’ it isn’t a game changing difference in attendance terms….and both PNE and Brentford are showing what can be achieved through astute, low cost recruitment comb8ned with good coaching & management.
As good as Brentford looked yesterday …..if they really were THAT good why aren’t they in the top 3 ?
Would he come …? Hughton?…….absolutely not
