My first car was a Morris Ital, the car that finally killed Austin Morris.
I had a special name for it but I couldn’t type it on here!
It had a manual choke, remember them?
My mate had an Ital, that he inherited from his Dad, he used to say that he’d done 27,000 miles in it and reckoned he’d pushed the fkn thing for 23,000 of them !

To relate to Nuneaton’s comment about United fans (but not women and football, no siree), I (GA) started a riveting conversation last week with a female work colleague (FWC).GA: “If you go to Old Trafford there’s a clock showing the date and stopped at the time of the accident”
FWC: “Oh, I don’t go”
Ha haha….you can’t be surprised though GA the world’s full of em
I took a mate, a Wiganer and a professed lifelong ‘Liverpool fan” to Anfield for a midweek Latics match (Zog’s late consolation couldn’t save us from a 1-2 defeat) and I was discussing the quickest way across Stanley Park to the ground ….at which point he confessed that he’d no idea as he’d never been
Another Wiganer of similar disposition years earlier, when I was berating him for favouring Liverpool over Latics, sallied forth with “Why would I watch Latics when Liverpool are playing top class football and it’s only 18 miles down the road !”……oh I see you go regular do you ? …err no I don’t go
WTF !

Have we sold him? I thought he’d gone on loan to a club in a league equivalent to League Two after signing a new deal.
He can only play against the players put in front of him. Unfortunately our clown of a management team didn’t want to risk him, even though the ones they select every week are losing nearly every game. Worst that could have happened is we continue to lose, but at least we would have an excuse that the lad is not ready. Cook has run out of excuses for the lads he selects every week.
Stoke reputed to be considering a £2M bid for Cosgrove
Remember it well if only for the fact that I couldn’t go !!
I worked in Bryn and management had declared a full stock take that weekend ….3 line whip …no ifs or buts ….anyone going off ‘sick’ would be facing disciplinary action or had better have photographic evidence of being in intensive care or dead.
Without a doubt the biggest game Latics had been in since the Man City cup tie and I couldn’t go …..nor could any of the other lads working in the Parts Dept all of whom were either United or Liverpool fans and home and away regulars
The Liverpool fans who were St Helens/Haydock lads were blazing because Liverpool were playing away at Nottingham Forest and this was a huge ‘revenge game’ for them…..Forest having knocked them out of the European Cup on their way to winning it the prior season and thus ballsing up the Scousers bid for ‘3 in a row’…..and ….they had knocked Liverpool out the League Cup a week or two previously…..so they were desperate to get to the City ground for the game and in the case of one of them at least …a scrap.
Over 20,000 Wiganers made that trip or so the legend goes ….and there should have been one more (I’ve not stopped sulking yet)
Christ I was 21 ….and now I’m not !

Interested in Nakhi Wells according to reports.Read the same thing but it just doesn’t sound likely?
How much is he on in terms of wages, let alone what he’d cost in terms of a transfer fee.
Also whilst he’s only on loan with QPR he’s getting picked and scoring, do you think he’d fancy a permanent move here, given our position and the likely prospect of 3rd tier football next season ?
He’s been about the only player who consistently tries to go forward.
All well and good, but he’s a defender who can’t defend
…..or cross a ball
Good athlete is what he is, with quick feet……but …
Certainly took corners and free kicks, never took or missed a penalty though (for us) …don’t think he’s missed any or certainly not many Pens for Blackburn ?
Amazing … our stats yesterday were almost exactly the same as Man Citeh’s today. 71% v 69% possession; 4 v 6 corners; 20 shots v 17 shots; 12 v 7 on target.Conclusion ….. there must be hope.
All depends if those “shots” by us were stinging the keeper’s hands or forcing him into full stretch, spectacular saves……or whether they were insipid pea rollers’ that the goalie (assuming the shot actually reached him) could pick up by leaning out of the deck chair he could have been sat in (had he fancied a bit of a sit down.)
Conversely, two of their shots ended up in the back of our net, one other forced Marshall at full stretch to just save it by tipping it on to the bar. I assume the one they lashed into the top corner from 25 yards out in the first half didn’t count as a shot given the whistle had blown a second prior. Nonetheless it further showed the capability of their shooting as opposed to ours.
Joffy for Williams just to keep the fans happy. Costs us the game. At least he’s one of our own.You tell ‘em Paul !

Well you’ve soon formed that opinion 442 ?
Based on probably the equivalent playing time of maybe two full matches ?…..yet in that time he’s scored, put his senior strike partner through with a beautiful pass to give him a (wasted) one on one with the keeper, won a (wasted) penalty and caused Forests defence to go into a flat panic ….how many of our other players have managed the same in equivalent playing time ?
I’m not saying he’s necessarily going to be the next big thing or that he’s eventually destined for a top club (though he may be) ….but he’s shown enough as a 17 year old to warrant more playing time than he’s been getting …..why wouldn’t he have the odd pointless or ill judged run up a blind alley for a lad of his experience ?
Again I’m not necessarily arguing for a start but more than the last 10/15 minutes
