Muchas gracias senor.
However, I’m sure most our fans will have the nouse to read past the bad translations to get the gist of the story
23 December 2010 at 3:07 pm in reply to: Boselli’s NOT going back to Argentina according to his agent #53875I think Roberts did his hamstring.
Anyway, Boselli’s agent has said he ain’t going back to Argentina……..
Despite the interest recognized by San Lorenzo, the player’s agent, Jose Iribarren, confirmed to this newspaper that no one has contacted to understand their situation and ask for their services.
Click former is a priority of President Carlos Abdo Cyclone, but only attempt a loan for six months for its high price.
Anyway, the striker, who belongs to Wigan of England (team paid a figure close to ten million dollars), will continue his football career in the old continent, as its current European club offers only listen because it claims that continue in the highly competitive and not lose value.
It is true that Boselli has not been followed in the Premier League, which played seven games and scored just one goal. European media spoke of the interest of Catania, and has recently added two sets Spanish, Zaragoza and Deportivo La Coruna.

Maybe it’s because he knows he’s going back to Argentina!
22 December 2010 at 5:11 pm in reply to: Boselli’s NOT going back to Argentina according to his agent #53812I think it will all be forgotten about if he can ship out Boselli and replace him with someone decent. Let’s wait and see. For all we know Boselli might start against Wolves and get a hat-trick ;)
22 December 2010 at 4:14 pm in reply to: Boselli’s NOT going back to Argentina according to his agent #53806Piscu is still hiding in the Wrightingdon I think. No update on this one.
It has all gone quiet because we will wrap up some kind of compensation deal with Deportivo when the window reopens – just watch!
Don’t worry though, as soon as I get an update I will post it on here together with another masterclass in interpretation
22 December 2010 at 4:01 pm in reply to: Boselli’s NOT going back to Argentina according to his agent #53804I agree about the settling in issue and indeed the spitting of the dummy.
In one of the stories I read, it also mentioned the possibility of him going to Zaragoza or Deportivo, which for me would be a better option as at least we may be able to get some of our money back.
Maybe we could see a cunning swap deal with a striker who has that extra bit of physicality? ;)
Or maybe Picsu is involved somewhere along the line
22 December 2010 at 3:47 pm in reply to: Boselli’s NOT going back to Argentina according to his agent #53800But it wasn’t to Martinez when he made his stand over the player & who he ultimately spent a massive chunk of Latics very small transfer budget on himI agree that £6m for us is a lot of money, but plenty of other managers have spent big money on players who don’t work out.
Although I think Martinez may have ultimately got this transfer wrong, we could just have easily been saying ”wow” what a player had Boselli made the same start as Zaki. We would then be dreaming of selling him on for a big profit to keep our club ticking over.
That was what I was hoping for when we signed him in the summer, which was why I was keeping such a close eye on his transfer and posted, admittedly bull’s poo translations, on this site.
The trouble is, we are Wigan and we have to take a punt with players. I’m afraid we have become all too good at plucking players from obscurity and turning them into top level players making a quick buck in the process.
Unfortunately, I think most of us think we should be doing that will all our signings but it just doesn’t work like that.
22 December 2010 at 3:36 pm in reply to: Boselli’s NOT going back to Argentina according to his agent #53798Surely this should bring into serious question our manager’s judgement if this story is trueFrom what I can gather Boselli was scouted for a long time & this culminated in John Benson reporting back that he didn’t think Boselli would fit into Martinez’s system and/or adapt to the British game & that Whelan shouldn’t buy him.
Martinez by all accounts then kicks up the mother of all stinks & insists he knows what he’s talking about, he’s the manager & he should be given a club record some to buy him. Benson leaves the club
Now I know every manager buys their fair share of stinkers from Alex Ferguson & Arsene Wenger with loads fo money to the Kenny Swain’s of this world who had none but come on I see the alleged activity of Martinez over this transfer as very much staking his reputation on him & it would appear that he has bombed & that the club is looking to ship him out (I read in a sunday paper that he was gonna go out to the UAE on loan) & its not simply a case of needing time to adaptOn top of that he’s spent a total of £12mill on 3 strikers in the 18 months he’s been here. 1 has already been shipped out, the club appear to be looking to ship another one out & the 3rd has yet to score for us & with a top flight record of 1 goal in about 40 games doesn’t look like he will any time soon.
Its a bad record from a significant amount of money investedI think there has to be a serious amount of truth in this story. I got translations from four different papers.
In terms of Martinez’s judgements, it is true his signings in terms of strikers has so far not proved to be good. What baffles me is that he is determined to play a certain way, so if that is the case why are we signing poachers (which is what Boselli and Scotland are) when we need to be going for an all-action centre forward who can link up the play as well as bang in the odd goal.
If we had someone like Heskey, I am convinced we could make this system work as he used to take up the attentions of both centre halves and was great at bringing others into the game. Okay his scoring record wasn’t great, but at least we looked like scoring with him in the team.
The trouble is, we are looking for this type of player by shopping in the bargain basement and it is not going to come off more often than not because of this.
I noted with interest that one of our reported signings from last January, Marco Ruben has been a regular for Villareal and has been scoring a few goals, so I’m sure Martinez can spot a good player – it’s getting the right player who can perform in our system and also in the Premier League.
22 December 2010 at 3:25 pm in reply to: Boselli’s NOT going back to Argentina according to his agent #53795I find it rather a shame if these stories are correct as we clearly haven’t played the kind of football likely to get the best out of him.
I suspect, however, that much of Boselli’s problems have stemmed from him not being able to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League. He is not the most robust of strikers and the pace of the Premier League is unlike any in world football.
I think he would probably score a lot of goals in La Liga though.
He is just the type of player who could feed off a big man. I think if he was playing off big Emile he would be banging the goals in. But he isn’t and as the lone prong in our attack he doesn’t stand a chance
While we have a lot of players out, we must surely look at tomorrow’s game as a good chance to pick up three points, despite our woeful record against Villa in the last three years.
Villa’s players have the hump with Houllier and they will be missing their fair share of players tomorrow too, including Ashley Young who is their answer to N’Zogbia.
I just can’t see this being a game that Heskey is going to be up for either. He’ll feel guilty if he scores against us and will probably bask in the good reception our fans give him.
If we can get up for this game and get three points it could turn our season around.
They are all ‘must win’ games, but this is one of the most important. In fact we should dub this a “Save Our Season” game!
9 December 2010 at 7:27 pm in reply to: Rodallega feature on FIFA Futbol Mundial this week…….. #52913Thanks for flagging this up. I’ll try and watch it
Those stats do illustrate how difficult it is to score in this league and why strikers who can bang in a few goals are worth their weight in gold.
I like Hugo and have always thought he has loads of potential, but it’s a mark of how good the defenders are in this league that he struggles to score more than 10 goals a season
Oh if only we had Messi “in the hole”!
Let’s just see what happens over the rest of the season and who’s winking then ;)
Tyldesley, it’s always good to share opinions.
Hey, I wasn’t happy about us signing either Caldwell but I didn’t know enough about Gomez to make a judgement.
But I have to take issue with your comment about his duff signings having outweighed his good ones. This is only my opinion, but I believe it is far too early to judge Di Santo and Boselli because as I mentioned higher up this post, I think we are still missing that link between midfield and attack.
I believe if we get the right player to play behind the striker you will see a different team. At the moment we’re playing central midfielders who don’t really have that ability to play little killer balls through to the front man or two wide players. Once we have that, I think we can go places.
So you say Boselli, Di Santo, Scotland, Gomez, G Caldwell, S Caldwell are duff signings.
I say Boselli, Di Santo, Moses, Stam, Gohouri, Alcaraz, McCarthy, McArthur, Al Habsi, Diame, Thomas (was still signed by him), and Cleverley (albeit temporarily) are all excellent signings and show he has a good eye for a player.
Let’s hope he makes up for his stupid sending off with a couple of goals on Saturday
