Judging by this performance, a night out with Brian Clough would have been more exciting than one with John Motson.

“Eight is a respected number in Malaysia, and Tan in particular has a keen likening to it”

What – he looks like a figure 8? Madness indeed!

Perhaps the writer simply means that Tan has a liking for it.

Does anyone know if we paid a fee for Powell,s loan ? because if we did, according to the rules he cannot be recalled.

If United want to recall him, would we really object? Surely we want to keep our options open on future loans.

The transfer fees may keep us out of the red for another season.

If you can include Al Habsi in the team, then Beausejour was also very much one of the squad. Watson will be missing today with a foot injury.

Just for the record, it was Gomez who scored the penalty to give us a draw against Bournemouth. We then played Fulham in the league and Martinez made nine changes for the replay. The winning goal was scored by … Boselli.

And Buxton goes – for a Burton.

    Rosler said,

“The substitution played a part in the goal and it was great individual skill from Beausejour. He’s a player we can use in all positions on the left-hand side and he showed today why he is probably going to the World Cup.”

It flows into the Severn just below Chepstow. Wye? It just does.

The Newcastle game (first 45) was arguably even better – 4 up in 45 mins against a team that came to Wigan on the back of 7/8 successive victories.

The conversion rate (goals to attempts … ridiculous :P ) and football was of Barcelona proportions. Little Wigan !

Agreed – 45 minutes of football of breathtaking quality.

And it wasn’t just short passes. They sprayed long diagonal balls from side to side.

Football as good as you could see anywhere in the world!

Ryan Shotton has returned to Stoke City following the end of his loan deal with Wigan.

Will Keane has returned to Manchester United with a groin injury.

You mean players like Holt and Fortune?

What would be the value of an unused football stadium in Horwich?

It will be interesting to see what happens to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Coventry City plan to build a new stadium just outside the city. Meanwhile, they are playing their home games at Northampton.

I wonder if they have considered a move to Horwich? The way things are going, it may not be long before they don’t need a home ground at all. A great shame for a little club that once beat a giant in the Cup Final.

Is it alright if I comment on Rosler without making unkind remarks about Martinez?

First impressions are good. He seems to be tactically aware.

He also seems willing to give all the squad an opportunity in their best positions. It’s interesting that he seems to be impressed with Beausejour.

Fans mainly see the manager on the touchline, but his behaviour there doesn’t greatly concern me. There are many more important aspects of his work that we don’t see.

If Powell does go, I shall be sorry. But we have kept him until the transfer window opens. We can now bring in a recognised goal scorer.

Wigan have given Powell a regular first team place. But if Moyes is looking for an opportunity for him to get experience at a higher level, then Hull must look an attractive option.

They even play three at the back as we do at present, so Powell could quickly fit in. On the other hand, Huddlestone has really emerged this season, and his role is similar to Powell’s. There might not be room for both of them in the team.

Despite all the problems of the first half of the season, we are still well placed for an exciting second half.
