Not sure about some of those but, we’ll see.
Roberts – for a million, we could no doubt do a lot worse
Lopez – dont know anything about him
Reid – capable possibly, not quite sure
Healy – only 1 I would say a definite no no, for me…garbage
Di Santo – did nothing at Blackburn, but then again trying to get on the end of boots upfield from Robinson or Samba cant be easyExcellent performance yesterday, full of the 2 things we should demand as a minimum from our team, commitment and organisation. Defensively we were spot on, midfield closed men down and put pressure on Spurs, while we broke forward and attacked when the opportunity arose.
Special mention to Al-Habsi, seemed to bring a steadying influence in goal, coming out for crosses and making a couple of superb saves when called upon.

*makes note to self* Plan takeover of Latics on coach in the morning, I’m sure a full coachload can afford it between us, should only cost a little bit of money if we all chip in.

However, if these sources are as correct as they were about Charlie storming out of training, then I fully expect Birmingham to announce the signing at 9 am tomorrow and that he’ll be playing in their match on Sunday
Aren’t we something like £50m in debt? I know I haven’t put in millions to cover this debt, neither I presume has Bickymon and all the others who want Whelan out…so if its not the fans or the players who will cover this debt, I wonder who will? Mr Whelan maybe?
Presumably its something to do with the CL final also being held at Wembley…..that and our wonderful FA, devaluing their own competition by allowing even more games to be played on Cup Final day. IMO its a disgrace that there are already play-off games on the same day as the the final, should be no professional matches in England on that day
Was disappointed to see Whelan so emphatic in his support for Martinez, maybe rather than speak live he could have just issued a statement through Sky. However, if anyone expected him to say, RM is sacked if we lose the next 2/3 games in a live interview, then they are just being ridiculous.
Oh and as for the comment about the WISH FM deal, that would just about sum up some of our so-called supporters in this town. If us having a deal with a local radio station is making such a different to the bone idle not getting off their backsides, then it really is time to give up on a number of “fans” in Wigan
Can’t believe some of the comments on here especially those along the lines of:
“move out and let the rugby fill the DW”….they could win everything for 10 years and they’d never consistenly fill it (see crowds from mid 80’s)
“not bothered by moving to St Helens”……we are WIGAN Athletic FC, not St Helens Athletic FC.
“Martinez is being used by Whelan to destroy us”…..really?

I’m really not sure what the answer is as far as a new manager goes, I do know believe though that if Souness is the answer, then who should be our manager is not the question. Souness is a shocking manager, he’d just be here for the money and would completely ruin us

Getting him back does seem like a good idea, but isn’t he studying for a degree in medicine in Holland. Would think he might want to focus on that rather than get involved in football.
Nothing wrong with trying to raise some funds using adverts, but ST for Sjoke City, thats going a bit far isn’t it
