There’s a simple reason to explain why their next crowd wont be 24,00….to use a football chant to sum up why 10,000 Wiganers will be missing compared to last Friday “You’re only here cos its St Helens”
Would have liked to have seen Gary given the job until the Summer. Think the Chairman should have waited till then, gauge the quality of applicants interested in the job and then go from there, if we still feel that Gary is the right one then fine. I’ve no problem with him getting the job, just think we have rushed the decision, however as we all should be, I’m fully behind the club and Gary.
Onwards and Upwards
QPR should be fined for breaking FFP rules as we were over MAF for breaking rules relating to agents, main difference between the 2 cases is that Rangers FFP infringements involve several signings whereas ours involved the signing of one player.
As for a points deduction, never could happen as at no time was MAF considered ineligible to play by the FA or Football League, the wrong-doing on our behalf related to an agent representing a play not the player himself.
As no one else has replied, looks like its just us 2 at Boro
Thank you for everything you have done for our great football club, only in years to come will we truly appreciate what a wonderful journey we’ve been on for the last 20 years, not only did you achieve success we never thought possible, you took us to the highest league in the land and threw in European football on top of the greatest day any of will ever be fortunate enough to witness supporting Wigan Athletic FC.
Enjoy your retirement Mr Whelan…hope its as enjoyable for you as the last 20 years have been for each and everyone of us
Wonder when Cardiff City will suddenly “find” some new evidence, just as the FA are about to make a decision maybe…..FA need to get a grip of this, seems obvious to me that there’s just delaying tactics to keep Malky in limbo for as long as possible. I suspect new evidence might just appear on Friday 1st May if we have a chance of staying up.
Whatever the rights and wrongs of the whole case, while it is vital all details emerge and the correct decisions re punishment etc are made, its not right to keep Malky and Ian Moody under this cloud for so long.
How can giving Uwe Rosler £10m in summer be a conspiracy to get us relegated? Whatever happens, there has to be proper planning by the board ie the type of football we’re going to play, getting the correct manager in to play that style and giving that manager enough money to get back in to the Championship.
I do think Malky may be gone very shortly, on a footballing level it was a good appointment, but he’s made no difference whatsoever, even though he’s had a tough hand to work with.
Well if in 20 years, 3 promotions, 1 relegation, 2 major cup finals, European football and 8 years in the top flight of English football is a façade for being interested in our small club, then I’ll take that for the next 50 years.
Have suggested to the Club that they take a look at that website
Found out last night, someone I do know, didn’t go yesterday, they’re against the appointment of Mackay due to the nature of the texts he has sent…whether or not that person will be back I don’t know….a long-standing supporter, so wouldn’t think someone who is lost for good.
Shame about the London-based fan, but at least it sounds like they have a given a reasoned and considered response rather than just a knee-jerk reaction. Hopefully they will feel able to come back at some point in the future
She’s just done the typical MP thing, seen an opportunity to voice her opinion on something and tried to curry favour with her bosses and voting public of Wigan. She is as entitled to anyone to an opinion on wether Malky Mackay is the right person for our club (be it for footballing or other reasons).
Where she is bang out of order is that she has chosen to go public on her views at a point where the only link to us and Malky is that he is an unemployed football manager and we are looking for a new manager. The time to use her political position to comment on Malky becoming our manager is if/when the club confirms he has been invited for interview or indeed offered the job/appointed and even at that point a private letter to the club would be more appropriate.
Ebbe Sand (ex Denmark international)
Apart from the result (obviously), one major difference between that and the last 4 games, is that yesterday for the most part, we looked a like a very decent side, attacked well and looked like we could cause the opposition problems, Something we have seen too little of this season
Shown himself to be nothing more than a coward, simple as that, second punch was an utterly disgraceful act.
Chairman of Oxford United, maybe has a lot of business interests down there….more a football fan than a rugby fan. Saw him at Loftus Road after we’d lost at QPR in the league game
