No, I don’t think that’s the reason we won today and produced arguably our best performance of the season. I personally think it’s because on our day we can compete with any team in this league and Roberto’s tactics (when they work) are the same as Arsenal, Chelsea, etc. A 4-4-3 attacking when going forward and a 4-5-1 defensive when we’ve not got the ball has worked a treat tonight and the rewards will follow. Be patient, keep supporting and we will see the benefits. Roberto is the man for the job, I have always believed in him and will continue to do so. We are, on our day a fantastic team with a fantastic manager. Keep the faith, what a fantastic night for Wigan Athletic. 4 years without beating a top 4 side and we beat 2 in 1 season. Doesn’t that tell you something? Well Done Wigan!
I agree with Tyldesley when he says N’Zogbia won’t get called up because I don’t believe he will even be considered.
I would like to see him go to the World Cup with England or France for the following 3 (main) reasons:
1. A Wigan player competitng among the world’s best.
2. He’s likely not to be a Wigan player come next season so, if he does get called up and performs well his value will shoot up and we’ll be able to cash in on him.
3. I believe he is good enough for both England and France.I want us to win the world cup, couldn’t give a toss who the manager is or who wears the shirt as long as they give their all and if we win the world cup with an Italian manager and a French left winger I for one wouldn’t be bothered at all.
Look at our cricket team, half of them are South African and the rest are made up of British born asians and a few English players.
all woman who watch the lodgers look like pigs anyway
Oooohhhh I hate The chubsters more than nayone but I must disagree from what I saw as I was driving past the stadium the other night when they wer’e playing whoever it was…. Plenty fit young girls in the Cherry and Shoite stripes. ;)
If by fit you mean: Fattys In Trackys then yes, you will see plenty of them after thugby! They’ll be the 2 stripe trackys with a 1999 wigan rugby shirt over their jumper.Wigan 14-0 Liverpool
(Rodallega 4, N’Zogbia 2, Diame 1, Moses 2, Moreno 2, Bramble 1, Scharner 1 and Kirkland 1).
Thank You! :D
You missed out “Scotland 1” for 15-0. No, that would just be stupid
:lol:What’s more stupid, the scoreline or Scotland scoring a goal? :?
Wigan 14-0 Liverpool
(Rodallega 4, N’Zogbia 2, Diame 1, Moses 2, Moreno 2, Bramble 1, Scharner 1 and Kirkland 1).
Thank You! :D
James, Ben Haim, Belhadj, Boateng and Hreidarsson maybe.
They have O’Hara and Dindane on loan who would be good additions to our squad.
Kanu as a old head up top, always pops up with a few goals.
But, my guess is we’ll see none of the above in a Wigan shirt next season or any after that.
ther was a game last year and there was a guy yellow water up with a purple/pinky jumper on dancing like a custard and he was with his wife remember singing “does ur wife take it up the Kaiber” can any1 remember which away team that was?West Brom pal, remember it well as we got battered all game and ended up winning 2-1 in last minute (Boycey).
As for the little c**t that got abused on sunday I was one of the crowd shouting abuse, i’m not ashamed and you point out it was a minority? The majority of fans in ES2/3 were singing jewish songs all game and hurling abuse at this 1 spurs fan + the rest of the fans around him.
He is a worker, hard tackler and can pick a decent pass. A better version of hendry thomas (hopefully in time he will improve) but a poor mans michael brown (in his prime).
Can’t do much else el clattermole, looked good in our side playing with Palacios but after he left he was sh*t!
Scotland played well last night.
The only thing that I can think of with Gomez is he must be good in training.
N’Zogbia is a natural left sided player so to switch him isn’t a bad idea every now and again.
We should have been 3 up by half time as we should in previous games, this must change and hopefully it will.
Next game is Bolton, we need a comfortable win to kick start our season and fingers crossed for a bit of luck, we don’t seem to get any at the moment but the old saying goes you make your own luck.
Roll on next wednesday!
We play 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 both home and away. That won’t change, all we can guess at is the selection which, tomorrow night should be a mixture of big and strong + pace and quality as Stoke will hoof every ball, try to win corners and throws whereas we will pass the ball about and make opportunities which is why we need both height and strength balanced with pace and quality.
Stoke have plenty of height and strength but not much pace and quality, that is where we can match them and better them on the night.
I’d like to see Moses and Moreno from the start as I think with the fans behind them they can really make a name for themselves and will be urged on as much as possible. However, saying that I wouldn’t know who to drop BUT I think Moses from the start is a must with his pace, tricks and quality.
Moreno would add height to the team but to bring the 2 of them in would mean dropping 2 players from the team that started at Sunderland. Scharner has been criticised recently but he will add height to the team, Diame for me is our best midfield player, N’Zogbia is our biggest threat, Hugo is our top goalscorer, Thomas will get in the Stoke players faces and get stuck in, McCarthy hasn’t done much wrong since he started but I think he would be the 1 to drop to the bench:
Kirkland, Boyce, Caldwell, Bramble, Figueroa, Diame, Scharner, N’Zogbia, Rodallega, Moses, Moreno.
Subs: Stojkovic, Melchiot, Thomas, McCarthy, Sinclair, Gomez and Scotland.
I’m not sure if I can see Bobby dropping Thomas and McCarthy to the bench but we’ll see, however he lines up i’m confident of 3 points and another 3 next wednesday against Bolton would be great.
I was at the dome last night and found out what happened.
On pitch 2 there was a group of lads/guys who were just having a kick around (not a league game) so no referee. One of the lads smashed his head on the wall and was knocked out, a guy who worked for the dome was a trained first aider so managed to bring him round and kept him talking for around 5 mins making sure he was ok, etc until the ambulance arrived. After 5 mins, no sign of ambulance and they lost him, they couldn’t bring him back round. Apparently, the dome were fuming that it took the ambulance so long to arrive.
Not sure who the guy is or how old he was.
This info was from a young lad who works at the dome, he was there wednesday night and saw what happened although MoMo has been told different.
Either way, it’s very sad news.
Like I said, I know nothing about it myself, heard it from a mate earlier today. His exact words were a lad at work told me today that he smacked his head against the wall, came round but then they lost him again and he never came round.
Anyone else know anything? I am playing in there tonight.
Terrible news if true and quite scary to be honest.
I am going off what it says on official site.
Parkin 13st, was that his right or left leg? Fat CU*T!
Anyway, i’m just baffled as to why a lad (around 17 years old) who sits behind me in ES3 can call Jason Scotland fat when the lad himself must be at least 14st.
EVERY F’IN GAME, SAME PEOPLE, SAME PLAYER, SAME SH*T!
I have faith in Roberto and wouldn’t like to see him sacked. If he did however, I would go for someone who isn’t on your list – Mark Hughes.
BUT!
I don’t think Roberto will go and I don’t think he should.
Mark Hughes is on your list, i’m just blind!
