Joel (Al Habsi)
Boyce Alcaraz, Granqvist,Figueroa
Valencia, Palacios, Thomas, N’Zogbia
DiSanto, KoneTo name but a few off the top of my head!
How many others are there?
Perhaps something along the lines of what happened to Rangers up in Scotland should be used here. Relegation to lowest tier of the EFL and start again from there (if they can)?
Just read that Callum Lang has ended up as Oldham’s top scorer this year – even though he’s been played all over the place (not just as striker). Hope he gets his chance in pre-season next year to show what he’s worth too.
Article about him here too: https://thefootballmancave.com/2019/05/05/callum-lang-a-fond-farewell-to-the-wigan-athletic-loanee/
Callum Lang seems to have managed two seasons in League 2 for two different clubs and has scored goals at both. Since Oldham now have nothing to play for, could he not have been brought back from his loan to feature in this weekend’s game as well?
Yep,
I would agree.
Time to give that Charlie Jolley a run out – he’s been banging them in as regularly (if not more so) than Geldhart!!!
It was nice to see a couple of youngsters blooded. What are the chances of us getting Lang back from Oldham (they’ve nothing left to play for) to give him a chance up front in the last game? He’s been scoring at League 2 level so it would be good to see how he’s developed too!
Not sure why they would “be necking saki” since that is a Japanese drink, I believe
Actually Mr Brownbill, you’re forgetting the away win at Stoke, which was this season if I am not mistaken…
Also, Charlie Jolley banged in two – and he seems to have been getting more starts and goals than Geldhart this season!
I have to say that, just like last season, I feel our defensive line with Jones in goal seemed far more assured and calm. Whilst Walton is a terrific shot-stopper, for me, Jones edges it over Walton because he has a far better “presence”. What I mean by that is he talks (or read that as shouts) to his defenders so they know what to do. A prime example today was a dangerous cross whipped in by Villa that Kipre was going gung-ho for, until he heard the call from Jones and ducked under it for Jones to come and collect. I’m afraid that we never see that from Walton – in fact we see the opposite (e.g. Leeds).
For me, Jones in goal was a good call from Mr Cook today!
No, but we did have to watch McGinn taking on the mantle of Grealish AND spending most of the first half trying to get Morsy sent off as well!!!!
(in reply to your earlier post jimmyc)!
Cook signed a new 4 year deal after last season – so no issues there. Powell though does need re-signing ASAP
Just seen he’s signed on loan with an option to buy – so maybe not?
Technically speaking they have!
Raya is their keeper, whilst Walton is only on loan to us from Brighton!
Not that I’m agreeing with them…
There’s one fan that sits near me who says he’s the worst striker we’ve ever had at this club???!???!!! Not sure what planet some of our fans are on/from ! :)
