Let’s hope it’s more than three games. What does this manager???? see in this guy? I’m not just going on about him being sent off today, but his general play. I don’t think we can call other teams players for diving when this guy plays.
As Edinburgh says, what has happend to Whelan’s prediction of a top ten finish?
Can’t wait to see the ratings in the papers. 5 at the most but I couldn’t pick a man of the match. I know we were playing Man.Utd but the basics weren’t there. How many times did we lose possession and pass the ball to the opposition? As for Buttner’s goal. :woohoo: That beggars belief. He beat 4 men and and a blunder from Ali. Watched my 6 year old grandsons team this morning, and they had more idea. :(
How is it that every season, Arsenal sell tickets in the Wigan area, to their own fans????
What if anything has happened to the Aston Villa fans who set off flares at the D.W.?
Thanks Bernard problem solved ;)
Hi Bernard Good work. I think you have made George a happy man with that information :cheer:
Think I’ve sorted it just sent you a PM. ;)
How do I PM you???
I was talking to Bernard this morning. I’ve e.mailed him (Hopefully it is him) from the Mudhutter web site
Another D.W. quote
“All my family are Wigan Athletic through and through and when I go I know the club will be well looked after”
Unfortunately I’m old enough to have watched mainly First Division Football from the 1950’s. When players played two games in two days over Christmas and Easter never mind a week. Pitches were, compared to today’s pitches, abysmal, The ball weighed probably 3 times as heavy as todays balls when wet, Players weren’t coached as much, and probably not as fit as today’s players. But the game was a lot more exciting. I was at Goodison Park in 1958 when they played Burnley 78,000 people. Now that was an atmosphere…. Great Teams. Great Players. Great Times. :)
Just scanning it now will send it in a few minutes
Just checked a photocopy of the Wigan Boro v Bradford programme. dated March 29th 1924 and it says the colours are RED & WHITE. It would appear they changed their colours for the 24/25 season?
If you want a copy of the programme let me know.
As they were called the LINNETS I would think they would have played in Yellow or Green??????Taken from the recent book about the ‘Boro.
“A change of colours, to amber and black hoops for the 1926-27 season prompted the local correspondent to speculate whether the team should be known as the WASPS rather than the LINNETS”(what colour are Linnets?)
The ‘Boro programme I have is when they were a league club in the 1930’s.
Maybe there would be some information in the match reports in the Observer????
I have some more information, on Wigan Borough, somewhere? I’ll see if I can dig it out.…Hindley Blue, Loudmouthblue, mighty aff.
Do you have the best interests of the club at heart or is it just an attention seeking thing?
rp attention seeking??? grow up will ya. Best interests of the club at heart I believe so, however much you like Bob as a person his 3 season plan has failed terribly. Every season the team has got worse and we are going to get relegated because were crap not because of the referee or being unlucky and all that bollocks. IMO he is the worst manager we have ever had and that includes Kenny Swain who had no money and no chance. Bob spent £6.3m on a striker who has spent 2 seasons since signing on loan and we can’t score goals WTF.[/quote]
Got to agree with that man 100%, Can anyone who has watched us over the past 2 1/2 years, honestly say that they have enjoyed watching Bob’s “ATTRACTIVE ATTACKING STYLE of FOOTBALL”???
