Something not quite right with the speakers in the East last night. Could hardly hear what was being said and was crackly.
I said the same to my mate.. immense relief at finally scoring, Oxford are by far one of the worst spoilers i have ever seen … and what was that farce at second half kick off ?? ref should have just played on
Sorry but it was a crap game. Rotherham were decent but we should have gone for it especially at home. Such a slow tempo and build up play, no real urgency and too cautious. On the plus side yes a point, I have a nice tan and they had Karma Citra on tap.
Or.. could have a positive effect on them ie “We lost the final lets make sure we get promoted” And could galvanise them…
I think like VAT, its more for tactical reasons, I don’t see why he would be “rested”, its not like he’s a box to box player who comes off the pitch completely knackered, good use of the squad and having the players we need for certain types of game plan.
Isnt today some kind of deadline ? maybe an announcement timed around mondays game for maximum exposure ?
Lets not get in to a slanging match over something as sensitive as this, I think VAT was merely meaning that Brian was there from the days of old, back in the Springfield Park days, and those of the younger generation who have only been coming post-premiership era would not know who he was.

We seemed to drop a few gears after going two up today then just be content to see the game out. we were completely in control and could have scored more. This can be one of two reasons: 1) Game plan to preserve energy and game management .. or 2) Overconfidence thinking Gillingham wont score. Im happy to go with the first reason and all credit to Cook for instilling a mix of confidence whilst making sure we keep our feet on the ground together with superb team spirit.
