Lots of clubs Prem and Championship will be keeping the cards close to their chest till the World Cup is over. Once they know who’s who and who’s fit I’m pretty sure only then fringe players will start appearing, surplus to requirements.

Guys, Mr Whelan is a brilliant business man and also the family are true Latics fans. I’m pretty sure he will not want this fabulous club to go into decline. He will have done his very own due diligence to ensure he has sold the club to owners that he himself as a fan is happy with. He undoubtedly has done his homework on these guys.
They can do all the checks they want but once the sales done Whelan has no say what so ever and within reason they can do as they please council permitting. That should be easy enough once they get their bag of HK dollar.
Don’t forget, their main business is leasing so I wouldn’t be shocked at a few pop concerts at the DW.Granted, the board members are very rich men but this IEC is a separate entity from their wealth, a cheap way to get into UK football and what their getting is a club with the ground , training facilities and know how for the Prem.

So which bit did i say knock the stadium and training ground down ??, give your glasses a wipe. looking at same of the board members involved in the takeover I personally feel were no more than an assest to establish them as a company in the UK.
The head honcho is a guy called Stanley, a professional poker player so you can say calculated gambling is his forte. As far as I can see their main assest is leasing and one hotel so on paper Whelans JJB at it’s height was worth far far more than IEC.
Now if the rather rich board members start dipping into the XXXXXL pockets then strap yourselfs in because we might just be in for one hell of a second ride on the Wigan Athletic roller coaster and we all know how wild that can be.

I just have my doubts about this whole takeover melarky , I hope Im wrong. They are a company that lease and buy hotels and looking at last years accounts it’s hardly a company with the so called billions. The board members might be wroth that but that doesn’t mean jack poo if it’s not invested into IEC.
I can see some of the land having a hotel built on it in the not so distant future. Few back handers to the council (as they do) and up it goes. Try getting a 2 stroey extension on your house and you’ll have to contact the Queen to get approval

As for someone saying “Everton snap up young players so other team cant have them”. Seriously , your saying Everton want Lang, a player that can’t get into a League one side so others cant have him ??.
Everton obviously saw something while he was on loan at Morecambe. If Everton are willing pay £1 million now what would he be worth if he plays for us and bags goals ?.
Bring him back I say, let him train and slowly introduce him in games from the bench and in cup games like we use to do or just scrap all youth sides altogether because if they get rid of a promising young player before he gets chance to help us then it proves all Latics youth sides is pointlessGotta agree, but then again what’s the point keeping a player if he’s never gonna get played. Genuine question, how many players have come through our Academy in recent times to the full squad ?Pointless having one.
If DW had er sorted this when we were a few years into the Prem years we would more than likely have an established Academy producing young players worthy of a first team run out. Were in probably the best catchment area outside London for other clubs for released playersWhat I wanna know is, were have the chickens on the pitch gone ?, feathered one’s that is. I don’t hear of many protest these days
