tosserWe yet again see with cup winners replys that some people who post on here are completely ignorant to the current zero tolerance policies most organisations have in place today regarding racism and the harmful publicity this can create if breached. Not for one minute do I believe Mr Whelan has a racist bone in his body nor that his intended message was anything but a genuine attempt to diffuse a press feeding frenzy.As I found with my own mother before she passed away was that as she aged she would say things that are unacceptable today but with no intent to offend anyone whatsoever .ie she was hospitalised for quite a while and had nothing but praise for as she called them “blacky doctors”.Its a different arena now and I strongly feel that all this could have been averted if Mr Whelan had allowed our chief exec to handle this situation as the media circus is far more intensive than Mr Whelan seems to be able to handle.OK, so zero tolerance it is, so,, do you condone the comedian above on youtube spending 10 minutes calling Jews, Chinese , blacks ?. For various personal reasons I’ve not been interested in or able to follow the recent events since Uwe’s sacking, but having now seen/read how things have unfolded I’m sad to say that for the first time in over 30 years of supporting my beloved Latics I’m genuinely embarrassed to be a supporter of this wonderful club.No fans, 9-1, rugby town, whatever – never bothered me one bit.
But we have now fallen foul of yet another snap decision and idiotic remarks by our loon of a chairman. Win, lose or draw, at the end of the day I’ve loved our club because of what we’ve striven for, achieved and ultimately stood for.
But in the last few days any lingering sentiment anyone’s ever had for little Wigan has been evaporated – and at a time when we don’t need off-field attention distracting us from our current predicament.I pray and hope MM is charged by the FA and has his contract terminated by us, as it’s the only way we’ll retain any shred of decency and morals in a game that is severely lacking in either.

On a more serious note, what action are the FA actually taking regarding the text messages ?. Is there an ongoing investigation ?. Whelan has covered all bases but in the same breadth he said he can’t see the FA doing anything.

Totally agree though the season starts Saturday a big performance is the order of the day. Up the tics?? what about Sept & Oct ?? it’s still the same set of players. Maloney has been woeful for us whichever way you look at it. I’d expect any player to pull his plumbs out for his country.
We all, have or have had the shouty boss at work which works at first then it wears thin and plain old annoys to the point you do less and less.
Then we have the boss who likes to use the more calm approach, motivate the players and come across as your friend rather than your boss and talk things through then raise the roof only when it’s needed.
Rosler from day one could be heard in all 4 stands, how long can you keep that up for and still keep the respect of the players ? , been bawled at 24/7 ?. I remember watching a Brentford match on Sky were they interviewed a Brentford player on the pitch after the game. He was asked whats it like with the new manager (not long after Rosler had gone, he replied something like “Well at least we don’t get shouted at all the game and our ears bent”.
I just hope we have someone who can piece this mess together, and gain the respect of the players. A play-off place is not out the question

The modern game in the UK is a kaleidoscope of colourful characters from every corner of the world. Many find it a struggle to adapt to the harsher western European climate and so find ways to stay warm wearing various warm weather attire such as gloves and in some cases even tights.
I make a plea to our incoming manager please, please, please no tights at Latics. If a player suggests wearing tights just say NO its either stockings or nothing. If the player argues then its stiletto heels too. A sort of mobile pitch aerator.

He tried to use the same tactic’s at both Derby and Bolton, playing high up field stopping both from playing it out from the back. At Bolton, Bolton weren’t harsed, they were more direct so what was he shouting to the back 4 “PUSH UP !!PUSH UP !!” hence 3 goals came in quick succession.
