Once he put an extra striker on we started to look something like, and could have actually won it in the end with the chances we created. It would have been undeserved admittedly, but we could have snatched it.
Why go 4-5-1 ? for the first I can ever remember I can say we have toooo many forwards. If you count MacManaman we’ve 6 , but, Rosler likes the lone striker. No wonder Mick McCarthy scratched his head.
God help us when McCann and Watson come back , I fear it will be rock paper scissors.I think Kiernon isn’t ready or, just not good enough he was definitely to blame for the first. He had one man to pick up in the box, nobody in front or behind him to look after and ball watching and he gave him 2-3 yards to tap home Ipswich’s first.
The second goal you can’t blame him but, he slide in and totally missed the ball. Not only that his distribution from the back is pretty poor. The straight pass to their player on the 1/2 way line was school boy stuff.
I felt sorry for Delort running the line on his own. You can clearly see the lad has talent but as a lone striker ? he ain’t going to get us the goals unless he has either, a ball player at the back of him who can push the ball through to feet or a 2nd striker. He had a total of 8 minutes in with Riera at his side before Waghorn came on in his place now you can say “But Waghorn got us our goal !” but the pressure came from 2 up front and midfielders having to drop back created the pressure. To give Delort 8 minutes with a strike partner was wrong, and please no he looked tired he’s 22 for god’s sake “!.
Asking Boyce to push up should be a thing of the past, why Travernier doesn’t figure in his plans is beyond me and the same goes for Barnett.
Mick McCarthy hit the nail on the head when he said he was shocked that we decided to change from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3 . He said it suited Ipswich. It took us to go 2 down before Rolser realised this.
Who’s to blame ? players ? Rosler ? well at this moment in time it’s the manager for me with the poor player choice and and even worse tatics.
I’m in no doubt that we easily have the strongest squad by a country mile but the difference between us and some of the promotion contending teams is that they know their strongest 11, we never will.Déjà vu ?, Haven’t I read this before ?
(I know, I know, woolie hats on)
I thought delort would have snatched the ball off ramis good opportunity for a fine start for himI agree !!! I had £20 on him 1st goal at 13/2
His problem now is how to put it all together.
It’s like a pornographic jigsaw puzzle all mixed up, were all dying to see the end result and we all know it will be belting when it does appear but at this moment in time the guy who’s doing the jigsaw just hasn’t got a clue on how to put it all together.
Catch22 in my eyes , not enough players and you can struggle when the injuries and form loss comes. Too many player options and you spend all season rearranging and juggling players trying to find your best 11 and when you do your seasons over with.
If we are running out of gas an hr into a game then the problem lies with Chris Haslam & James Barrow not Rosler. Those 2 need to get the players to match day fit enough to last the full 90mins not 60.
And as for Tavernier ?, he must have took a dump in Roslers office or summut.Cramp is easily remedied, keep hydrated , That tablet might be caffeine
Gotta agree, if his fitness levels were to improve then he’d have no problem stepping up to the mark ,he always starts to flag around the 60 minute mark.
Certain players just can’t seem to keep up with the play in the latter stages of a game and chasing down so called lost causes and to McManaman seems to be one of those type of players.
It doesn’t make him a bad player it just hinders him from moving on to bigger and better things like a big money move.
It might be a cover up over a Borstal dot, and while were at it check his knuckles for A.C.A.B
Buying experience players and paying top dollar wages doesn’t work for Wigan, Holt comes to mind. I’m just glad to see us going back to what we’ve done best in the past that’s, signing young ambitious players, who want to improve and play at the highest level. But, while their at Wigan they leave us with priceless memories.
Hats off to DW, it seems that the McArthur money has gone straight back into signing players and their wages.
We don’t Orphan get danish players
If anyone wants to have a long term bet with me I’ll bet that If DW were to be shoved out we’d be back playing non-league football within 10 years of him leaving.
It’s about balancing the books or end up like a Leeds – Sheff Weds – Pompey – need I add anymore ????What an absolute pathetic thread you’ve created, you’ve not a feckin clue. Nevermind grumpy you should be called Dopey.
And while were at it get Bradfords James Meredith signed. How many inch perfect crosses can you put in in one game ? (Leeds cup game) . Even Holt would bury some of them
£6.5m I believe
As I said, put enough on the table and Whelan would sell you a kidney
You’ve really no idea how this football malarkey works have you?
And for £6.5m you’d be turning down the offer to sell one of your kidneys would you?
My kidneys will be like a coral sponge I’d probably get a cup of warm pish for emIf your ambition is to stay in the Championship then 6.5 million or whatever the fee is, it’s a good price, thing is, you cant have your cake and eat it.
And at this moment in time he’s our best player by a country mile, the 1 in 1 out rule will not get you into the Prem. Also, were’s the players coming through gone ?? , we use to be dab handed at nurturing players going right back to the McCulloch days then the likes of , Baines , Valencia ,N’Zogbia , Moses , McCarthy , MacManaman.
Right now I see nothing coming through and at a time when we need them the most. What’s the scouts doing ?? fookin sack em I say
McCarthy£6.5m I believeAs I said, put enough on the table and Whelan would sell you a kidney
I would take 4 mill plus chris woodyep spot on
and
DW didn’t say he’s not going he said put enough coin on the table and you can have him.
