Well looking at what’s on offer I would take Phelan till the end of the season with the view of a contract at the end and get him to persuade Paul Scholes in as coach/ assistant manager.

You can’t say Scholes won’t get the respect from the players. Like you said, they just need pulling together and playing for each other. In fairness to the players, I’ve not heard much moaning about them as a whole.

he’s still got it ;-

lets be honest
with the quality of players already at manure even griff could manage them
has for jewell hope he keeps away , already had one guy who came back to manage and jumped ship and couldn’t care one jot about the 2hat now
lets remember jewell for what he did and respect it,and not go the 2hat’s way

I agree ,no Jewell for me let’s move on hey . I think Fergie will have put a good word in for Phelan and DW will go for him purely because other managers will more than likely be wanting a 18 month 2 year contracts were as Phelan, I guess would be offered a till the end of the season contract to prove he’s worthy of a contract so it will suit both parties. Throw in Scholes and I think it’s the perfect choice.

I just hope chief scout “dib dib McGinley” goes as well.

Did you see the chap in the centre of the Boston stand run down the stand and start waving his ticket in Coyle’s direction? He wasn’t happy

A guy nr the away end in the West stand shouted just before half time ” taxi for Coyle , blue star are on their way” . Coyle mouthed back :- “f*** off”, if he hurrys up and jacks he could join Barnsley and have them down for Christmas.

If it were your club and you watched it grow from nothing , would you let one man kill it in a year ?, I can’t honestly see DW putting up with that.

I think the 2nd half performance compared to the 1st half shambles basically dug Coyles own grave. It just proves that, as a whole there’s nothing wrong with the squad, we need a game plan and the correct player selection , something Coyle knows nothing about.

Do you think he’ll go back in for Mike Phelan ?, If Coyle goes then it’s gonna be someone on a contract till the end of the season so I think the likes of Holloway and co won’t go with that.

Turned some decent players average, buys two useless strikers and wants to spend money on more crap signings in January. Think uncle dave will have a word tonight.

How can you sack someone when we hit the bar twice, their keeper pulled off a string of good saves and we created numerous chances.
He needs to move on swiftly, for the sake of the the rest of the season.

Like I’ve said before, if we have 2 bad results Sunday and Weds there’s a possibility he could be on his way. I don’t think DW will hang around till after Christmas and a transfer window weeks away now is the time.

At 66/1 to be the next Championship manager to leave his post it’s worthy of a fiver if nout else.

Is he injured ? I saw him in his training gear walking past the back of the South stand about 1:30pm just before the Brighton game, he didn’t look too pleased. He looked like he was heading to the small private players car park.
It’s gotta be that or an appearance fee of some sort is due.

Please don’t say Coyle just doesn’t fancy him. I thought he was excellent at the end of the season filling in at the left back role. Looks like Crainey is keeping him out the team.
That must feel like been done at darts by Stevie Wonder.

It’s comments such as those from readers on there though that make me want RM to do well at Everton.

He is constantly berated for us struggling and going down without anyone taking into account our budget, the fact he was told to trim the wage bill, our standing alongside those we finished above time and again. I doubt we’d have been waltzing into Europe with someone else at the helm. We’d have faced the exact same struggles.

To be fair the comments were aimed more at the fact that Utd would never employ a manager who had just taken a team down ! DW’s comments on the other hand are quite simply laughable ! :)
What’s the betting DW will announce shortly we have the best manager in the division.
Something tells me that ain’t going to happen.Lets hope he’s still got enough marbles left to see that this guy is useless as a manager and any future money will be like throwing it down the pisher.

I don’t like saying this but I’d take a hefty loss on Sunday if I knew it would mean he’s gone by Monday, sad I know but this is bad.

I think a loss against Derby and he might be on his Harse come Sunday night.

if Jones at Wednesday is 4/5 Coyle has got to be worth a tenner

which I have done :)

The one thing I’ve noticed is , When Martinez was here there was alot of “for and against” but with Coyle there’s none. If you owned the club would you honestly trust him in Jan with your money ??. Lets hope he acts like he did with Rioch and get’s someone in to clean this mess up.

Seems like young Callum couldnt be arsed again

Even Boycie was having a go at him

Can you blame him? He didn’t have a role. Rather than hug the line he was always 10 yards in and was either being bypassed or taking the ball standing still and just passing it back out cos he had 2-3 players on him. Several times tonight it looked like he was the right back and Boyce was the marauding winger.
When he finally got into the game with about 15 min to go he got subbed!
Exactly what I thought , why was he never more than 5 yard off Boyce in the first half unless he’s was been told to stay back ? and then folk say he can’t be harsed ? . He makes one good run and cuts it back for the goal then gets subbed.

Has any manager in recent history for Wigan missed such an opportunity as tonight to get the crowd behind him and the side?
I’m sorry to say but this for me is the last straw with Coyle.
His team selection is OK but his tactics are horrendous. His substitutions are horrendous and the team obviously have no desire to play how he wants.
Excuse after excuse and his main problem from what I can gather is very few fans wanted him in the first place. ( me being one of them.)
I’m sorry but enough is enough. I don’t have any manager in mind but if we stick with this guy not only will we not progress but the fan base we have will soon dwindle.

4 years of hard work and passing game down the drain in 4 months
.

A life long Bolton fan I know wet his skids when it was announced Coyle was the next Wigan manager.
He said he will rape your club of everything thats good. He also said , were still rebuilding the mess he left behind at Bolton from youth to 1st team.
I thought it was a bit of sour grapes but as each week goes by he seems there could be some truth in what he says.
Coyle on the tv looked totally lost at the final whistle and if it takes a hiding off Derby this Sunday for Whelan to get rid then I’ll take a it, get rid of him and move on.
I’ll vote for Kav as new manager, we need someone who knows the club and what were about.

Oh and finally , glad to see Coyle playing Macca in a supporting right back role 1st half, tactical genius. From attack to defender in 4 months , hats off.

When I got in I had a quick peek at the goals and then it pans over to Coyle who you can lip read saying , “fookin load of rubbish”.
Players look like they can’t be harsed especially with tactics not even Coyle can figure out.
MrWhelan be a good man and relieve Coyle of his duties will ya !. The Wigan of 7 months ago would have tore them to shreds. The Wigan of today couldn’t tear a sheet of bog roll off the hanger.

To think now we go to Maribor hoping another team lose. If we lose to Derby I reckon he’ll be gone.

And he dishes out more high praise for our long gone ex manager. That’s like banging on about how good in bed your ex is while your new missus listens in.

Unless my ears need syringing I didn’t hear big Dave singing any praise for the efforts of our current manager, or is he far from happy ?, (the silent treatment).

Its been obvious for two months we are struggling up front. Half the league seem like they are loaning strikers yet we persevere with these two has beens. Does Coyle watch the same games?

We have one who’s been waiting for 1/2 a chance and Coyle sends him on loan,

Dicko , scores 1 , and makes 1 for his first match on loan at Rotherham. But then again Coyle can’t see past the end of his nose.
