No matter what his current situation is, Kirkland has been a hero so we need to give his due.

I’m not sure that coaching is the issue, what looks evident to me in the first 2 games was his lack of mobility. When he was running for or with the ball he looked stiff, awkward and in pain.

When you have to jump, dive and run like he has to, it must limit him and that’s where i think the problem lies. Smacks to me that his back is no longer up to it.

If he doesn’t come back to us, then we should at least thank him for his previous efforts and good luck.

But the point is that if we continue to progress as we have ben recently, then the wins will come and the batterings will not happen. Look what happened on Saturday when we went down to 9 men. I for one thought “here we go” but they stayed disciplined and worked hard. If this had been last year then how many would it have been?

If you look back at Swansea, Bobby wasn’t too popular in his first year but he delivered. He’s at a higher level than then, so it’s taken longer to bring in his ethos but it’s clear that it’s starting to work.

Not only that, he’s building a squad of youngsters that are much higher quality than ever before (look at the reserves performances) who should be able to step in when we lose the good players in the transfer markets.

The whole thing looks like a plan to me which will take us forward. We will survive and next season we won’t be fighting relegation.

I may be considered over optimistic but i really do beleive that we will be challenging for Europa cup places in a couple of seasons if we manage to keep Bobby.

Keeping Bobby (and DW) will be the biggest challenge because it is clear he knows what he wants and can deliver on meagre funds. A big club will take him and I predict one day he will be manager of Arsenal – Stop laughing and just remember when it happens who said it first!

Now i must dash – i need my medication.

I know several neutrals who have been this season and they have been impressed by latics, we aslo had a corporate day for liverpool with liverpool fans there. They too could see how lucky liverpool were to come away with a point. One of my brothers (for some obscure reason) is a Spurs fan through and through but objective enough to be extremely impressed by latics. Bolton, Blackburn, Sunderland and Wolves fans might sleight us but they know they were outplayed.

I don’t disagree with that. What I am trying to say is; if your desire is to recapture the feeling of being in the lower leagues when life was simpler then you are saying you don’t want to play at the top level again. That means you want to get relegated and don’t want to get promoted again.
If we end up relegated (and i’m not saying that will be the end orf the world), then provided we are trying and keep trying, then we still have ambition and there is a point to it all.

i would say that Zog didn’t dive but tried to stay on his feet but couldn’t. His balance had been knocked and the momentum carried him. similar to Moses the other week when he was tackled and managed to stop the ball going out for a through in but he hit the ground. the ref then pulled it back to where the foul had happened. Rightly so.

For you to compare recent performances against the Blackpool game suggests you obviously haven’t been watching them recently or you just don’t want to accept that Bobby could actually make a fist of it.

Stay in your little dark cave.

I thougt zog should have had a penalty but having seen it on tv the foul happened just outside the box and he tried to stay on his feet but couldn’t recover his balance. The ref should have given the foul regardless and should have booked vidic for trying to wrestle him down.
When I saw Hugo go in both feet were off the ground so I had no argument with decision. I thought too “here we go 4 or 5 so credit to them. The problem was there was no where to go when we did get the ball, so it just kept coming back.
Good performance. There is hope, we need to beat west ham so we don’t let a gap form.
Cleverly will be back and hopefully Boyce will bolster the defensive options.

Trust me fashion sense has never been my forte. Not since the 70’s when i had my birmingham bags (with 8 button waste band), platform shoes, ben sherman two tone shirt and a tank top – class!

as a more sober adult, I remember coming back from Town extermely pleased with myself having bought an overcoat in the sales. Having stopped laughing my wife took it back and has never let me shop alone since then (25 years ago).

Apparently I looked like your stereotypical flasher!

I could be offended as I sit at my desk in the dark blue suit with co-ordinated brown belt and shoes!
I think it works well with my brown “Paul Jewell” leather coat.
Perhaps the rotund profile means I probably don’t cut the same stylish image as our bobby – but hey I’ve been fooling myself for many years as to how attractive i am to the opposite sex, why not continue.

Have you noticed that on many occasions when a top striker has lost his form, they suddenly find it when playing against us!

I would not say that Manure alway batter us, there have been 2 games which we were unlucky to lose. The week after the carling Cup battering we only lost 2-1 to a Chimbonda own goal – we were unlucky. More recently we battered them and Scholes should have been sent off. Whilst we lost were certainly not battered. Did we not also have a very good (though we lost) gane at OT under SB when red nose complimented by saying it was their hardest game?

                                One should use the colloquialism:

“Victor Mosses is running down t’ wing”
