Liverpool may not be performing in the way that a powerhouse should be performing, but add up the cost of their squad against the squad that beat them on Saturday. I doubt that our entire squad would add up to the substitute that they bought on at half time (makes Boseli look like a bargain). So lets not put down our win.
My daughter took the photo, i was to busy chewing my nails and trying not to jump up and down. Note, as you can see the wigan fans in the Anfield Road end you can deduce i was amongst scousers. It was obvious that we were wigan fans by the fact that we did not jump up and down when the cheating racist scumbag scored. Though my son tempted fate when he laughed out loud when the cheating racist scumbag had his other goal disallowed.
I also sport rather large bruises on my arm as my son gripped my arm when Gary (superhero) Caldwell scored as he sort to vent his emotions without shouting out and jumping.
great day out – and somebody else paid for it.ta
Brammall Lane was definitely up there but equally the 3-2 against Arsenal last season and then that West Ham game.
He looked like he had had a couple of glasses of LFC wine.
I wasn’t having a moan, I was pointing out how poor their reporting really is.
no but they seemed to be booing us off! or was it wigan they were booing.
so bloody hard sitting with the scousers in the centenary stand
they have now corrected their error.
Jones is no wing back though !! The Chelsea kid ????My thoughts exactly, Jones’s pace lets him down and he does look like the weak link.
What’s encouraging is that even Caldwell looks good in this formation. It’s always been obvious that the man has talent and his ability to dramatise the slightest nudge gets plenty of free kicks but I can sympathise with his knockers because his main problem is his lack of desire to get stuck in. The opposition players must know that when he is tracking them, they are safe. Last night he did actually get stuck in a few times, though I also thought the same thing when he pulled out of a committed tackle.
What you can’t argue with is that when he plays we generally do better than when he has not played.
Excelent performance last night – well done lads – just keep it up.Well at least we avoided humiliation. Mind, it could have easily been 6+ (penalty, Richards – bar and Lescott) but I’m not down hearted as expect that there will be many a team that face city (and united) who will suffer a spanking.
Roll on everton!
Dream on!
I’ve got tickets for the Everton game, where i think we can get a result. Tomorrow, i’m going to make sure i’m busy doing something away from the pub/TV/radio as I fear the outcome.Having watched the 2 city games on sky, they look awesome and I have seen enough defensive lapses from our boys this season to be very worried. The difference is City will take their chances and they will create even more. We need to stop Silva from getting any space or it has the makings of a Spurs game.
Our only slim chance is that they play their second string and keep their bigger guns fresh for Europe.
You may think I’m a pessimist, I’m not but the bigger teams seem to have stepped up this year and are going to hurt all the smaller teams (not just Latics).
Fingers crossed though, you never know. I remember walking to the DW for a game againts Liverpool, feeling utterly depressed and expecting a spanking, and we won!
I wasn’t being negitive on Gomez, just saying he ain’t a winger. I thought his game on Saturday was good and to be fair, young Jimmy Mac wil struggle to reclaim that spot if Gomez carries on (and why would you change it). He did fade towards the end before he was subbed. There were a few mistakes and lack of willingness to make the tackle but he had put a shift in for the first 60 minutes.
keep it up and he can become a latics legend.
surely you have noticed that bobby likes to have a left footer (hence the man from celtic – joke) on the right wing. now he has 2 new right wingers.
yes i know gomez is left footed but he ain’t know wingerMy Scottish colleagues tell me that he was seen as a bright star in the making and when Martin O’Neil took over at Villa, he took him on loan but he failed to make any impact. Since going back to Celtic he has done nothing.
So why are we interested?
